#12 - Disagree with the relationship example. Not so black and white and trivial: the legal, financial and social world is stacked against men and they are maybe being careful. The ROI is negative for a lot of men and the risk is through the roof. If was strictly a business risk/reward proposition the result would be a hard pass.

I had two emotionally immature parents. They had me convinced that the whole world was like this - and that I myself was the problem. Eventually I learned the truth, though.

That's the problem when you're raised by off balanced parents for it does shape your perspective on life.

Anytime an adult in my family told me that I would understand when I got older, it meant that they were tripping because of their issues. If I was being subjected to psychological torture by someone with intel on me, and the torturer said "you'll understand when you're older," I would recognize that this person knew they were messed up and that their trauma driven job choice was just driving them into a pit of despair.

    • @thewikiddreamer

Same, only it was the entire family in my case...yes both sides. What was infuriating is that they KNEW I was pointing out obvious problems but they willingly chose ignorance for the sake of saving face and petty pathetic pride.
...so yeah, I'm married now & SO far away from that toxic AF quagmire. Thanks for the reminder that I was the reasonably normal one. Not without my own faults & flaws, mind you, but being used as a living security blanket would've even had Linus questioning himself.

EQ. I'm guilty of part of #6, starting at 8:15. I have a hard time accepting praise, and I never feel my accomplishments are good enough. I often think I haven't done enough. Point is however usually my accomplishments *are* good enough, and I've usually done enough. Thanks for this video, Alux!

    • @vincentdimitri169

I am the same, and the opposite is true for me as well!
For example, I don't think I've done a lot work when I'm praised for it, and; when I DO feel like I've done a lot of work, it isn't noticed. It's like a constantly want to feel negative about it.

    • @laverdadbuscador

I kinda feel that way. I don't like getting compliments not because I have low self esteem but because it feels belittling. It also shows me that those people don't understand me. A compliment does nothing for me, giving me autonomy is what I'd need to feel "valued".

I'm sure everybody can be immature at certain times, what matters most to me is that it doesn't affect another person when it happens and that I have recognised it, in that order. None of us are perfect but we can all grow.

Not bad however I respectfully disagree with a part of #6 . Having a hard time accepting praise and always wanting to do better is a trait of humility and perfectionism ( self criticism if you will). That should be eliminated from a sign of emotional immaturity.

EQ!!!! Along with this, I do feel that people confuse being empathic with being emotionally intelligent. As much as being an empath is a beautiful gift, the problems may arise when you don't know what to do with them. This was a great video and I will be sharing it with others. Thanks for producing and sharing this topic.

#15 is probably a major problem for me; Everytime I see something I’ve never done before like a math problem, I feel inferior & emotionally fall apart on the spot. As soon as I get the concept, I have more confidence. I need to seriously reflect on my insecurity of falling apart emotionally so quickly just because I’m still learning.

Sometimes an apology can be the wrong thing to offer. I've regretted apologising once or twice. If it's genuinely your fault yes, if it's not no. All it does is confirm to the one you're apologizing to your guilt

EQ. To add to the conversation that this video inspires, you are the sum total of the five people you surround yourself with. Be careful with who is in that circle. My Sister in law is a perfect example of a very emotionally insecure person. For years, it has bothered me. However, as I have continued to move forward with my life, I have learned therein lies the opportunity to guide, teach, and inspire her to be a better person.

I have to admit that number 6 suits me 😔😔
Excellent content! Videos like this, that help our society, need to have millions of views! I hope everyone watching this opens their mind to look at themselves and not at others.

Eq. Thank you for the phycological point of view on our perception of the world, on the core of people behaviour, reactions. Some of your points were unfamiliar to me. It's better to avoid connections with immature people than try changing their thoughts and lifestyle

EQ! There are a lot of positive thinking and motivational channels out here, but ALUX presents a lot of truthful things that many people are scared of.
This is the channel that really gets you to look in the mirror! I would say that it takes a relatively emotionally mature person to enjoy the content that is presented on this channel!

    Just a side note:
When you do something wrong, it is important for the people around you to address the problem in a RESPECTFUL manner.
We are already down on the floor because of our messed-up upbringing.
There is no need to keep kicking and humiliate us any further.
Just address the problem without treating us the same way our parents did when we were kids.

I Have a car, thats highly coveted for trashing, track & back alley abuse & ppl trying to steal by constantly, following me everywhere I go, befriending & sabotaging. kinda stresses me out, I'm good unless they cross certain boundaries. I also got an ex with rejection & abandonment issues who along with her friends, who are constantly masquerading in get ups, mimicking, the reason & who she thought replaced her, push up bras & all, very toxic & always trying to befriend & poison. so yes I'm emotionally distant & unavailable, funny thing is, I once left somebody for that, or Really she left me & I didn't care, cause we never connect & other than her beautiful voluptuous body, she never shared anything, so barring the stalkers I'm balanced like an EQ

Maybe the reason someone painted that 6 on the floor is to watch people argue about it. There were no other numbers to reference and in life we don’t always have all the information to know “right” from “wrong” and do the best we can with the perspective we have.
“My truth” lives in the same space as “perspective is reality” and also “nothing is black and white (which you mentioned) it’s also illustrated in the mindset shift you made between being “depressed” and needing “deep rest” because how you look at things will determine you you interact with them and the results you get from your actions

5 plus 5 equals 10, the law of gravity on Earth will pull you down if you jump up, today is September 11th/ 2022, on a whole women are more emotional than men, and etc. In which these are all facts(not opinions, not perspectives, not I have my own truth, and etc.). And with these being all facts it makes it the truth. So any answer given that opposes these facts are false, and a lie, or a misunderstanding. But yet you got people who will argue against the facts of life because they're ignorant, or dumb, or playing a game. And it's these same people who love saying I have my own truth. But the truth of the matter is you can have your own reality of how you see things, but there is only one truth on how things really are.
