Jon, what I’ve found particularly helpful to my golf game is tai chi, before I started, the most I could fire off from the driving range about ten balls at a time one after the other, then maybe take a break and chat to my friends, regulars at the driving range. I got some tips on how to be a better player, tai chi for me started at the driving range everyone had tried it but me. Apparently it helps keep your fitness up as 1 ,30min session =1days exercise roughly, don’t quote me on that. So give it a go, tell me how good it makes you feel/play, I would try: cloud hands as I personally found the most helpful but I am asking you to try it all out for me, just 30 mins a day now just do it!
Hey, never heard that suggested before. I'll have to look into it as I wouldn't off the top of my head know where to start. Thanks for sharing and glad its working!!
Jon thanks for posting another interesting video on your journey to being a better golfer. As a 61-year-old, I knew my core strength had declined, and as I worked through the golf control tests it became abundantly clear. I have the same imbalances as you with a weaker left side. I found the golf control tests challenging enough to use them as exercises along with the exercises Matt has prescribed. I look forward to your follow-up videos.
Thank you for sharing this 👍 I have planning to take golf lessons to learn "modern" body rotational golf swing. Watching this make me think, that i should actually improve my fitness first 🤔
Glad you enjoyed!! I'm not sure I'm the one to say what's best, but I know Matt or Dale would offer advice if you ever needed it and dropped them an email. Good luck!
What a great video! Thanks! I have lower back (herniated disc) so my motion is limited also. I'm just getting back into golf and enjoy your videos. I will do these exercises as I'm sure they will help me too. I wish he were in the U.S.
That's great to hear (not your bad back), I hope it helps you. For what it's worth I know Matt works with people from around the world...he has great success through online session, but just mentioning. Good luck on your journey back!!
Great stuff! I’ve sort of started myself down this journey. I’ve took decision to try and be abit healthier with eating etc but also started some basic stretches, as seems like yourself I do a lot of driving/desk work
As an athletic trainer, I found this video spot on perfect for what I've dealt with in my own practice. I would love to know where to get or what make and model is your digital handheld dynamometer.
I get a hunch that anterior pelvic tilt is prevalent with weekend warriors and it throws a lot of sequencing off, including being steep. Hard to rotate with APT, everything pinches
i really gotta go see a TPI guy here in pennsylvania .. funny im the opposite with my shoulders with posture being left handed.. im twisted the other way lol
@Jon Perkins Golf - I would appreciate if you did a video where you outline what you are doing and why? You are a scratch golfer with some really common sense practices, so what do you hope to gain? I think I understand why and what you are doing, but I think a more elaborative explanation would be great perspective. Thanks and enjoying your journey.
@@JonPerkinsGolflooking forward to see the exercises prescribed for each limitation and the protocols to gain back the ROM and strength. I could assume it’s similar to TPI.
Hey, yes I've built a version of this into a little routine that I do every morning when I wake up. In general it's helped as without it I feel a lot tighter and more restricted (in general, not just Golf). Hard to categorically say what the impact is on my swing, but I feel better, possibly more controlled when I'm on top of doing this stuff. Not sure if it will, but hope that helps.
Lovely!! Starting off tomorrow with 20 mins of a few these items.
Brilliant, good luck!
Matt Green is an excellent Physio, the fact he is also a +1 golfer means he not only knows bodies but knows golf as well
Fully agree!!

Great work Jon and Matt!
Thanks mate, and thanks for getting me to go and see Matt! You're a very solid team 💪
Thank you so much. I recognized myself. I will incorporate those exercises in my training routine.
Brilliant to hear. Hope it helps somehow.
Going for my TPI assessment in two days. Eager to evaluate and then make plan to start the season.
Hope it went well!
Very helpful video…because I have similar problems 👍🏼
Great if it helped. Thanks

Fair bit, yes. It's been taking it's toll on my back - this session really hit home to me though. Good luck with your efforts!

Makes sense to me, though I'm no expert...
Great vid!!
Thanks, appreciate that!
Fascinating. Hopefully you’ll start to feel the benefits soon.
To be honest, I already am - my back alone is feeling better than it has done in weeks!
@@JonPerkinsGolfno excuse when I outdrive you now! Does it count on a par 3?

I'm compelled to take up chess after watching this 😂😂
Have you stuck with this and if so, what changes have you seen in your golf swing ?
