Watch 'Curb Your Enthusiam' Larry David, Ricky worships him, you can see where Gervaise got all his type of comedy from! It really is Hysterical! Ricky is in one episode in series one from 10 years ago, and they are both incredible funny! I'll guarantee you will be 'hooked' on it! Yes Anne on the bench was awesome!! Also the dog, that dog barking or whining every time your character tried to end it all was awesome too. Great show
A totally relatable, funny, moving, heart breaking series. Fabulous characters all with their own merit. I loved this and sobbed for hours after the final episode in series 3. Your mind is left to decide what happens. Totally fantastic. Thank you 🥰🙏🏻
I loved Season 3 but the one character I massively missed was the Psychiatrist played by Paul Kaye who was hilarious in Season 2 and had me in tears of laughter so often.

David Earl’s performance as Brian was amazing, but it took me a few episodes for his character to become my favorite as he came off as rather creepy at first... but once I got his character it was pure comedy gold. Go and watch some of the After Life blooper videos to see some of the off the cuff improve he made to appreciate his dark comedic genius for this role…priceless. ❤

They are all such quirky but lovable characters (not necessarily as persons but as characters in a series) and you have to love Ricky for that perfect casting.

the last episode of season three is pure genius.....so well written and the chosen music track at the end which plays over the scene made me blub like a baby, so cleverly written filmed
All the characters are magnificent in After Life, but no one could ever deny that first among equals is the tour de force volcanic explosion of a comedic performance by Paul Kaye as The Psychiatrist. Peerless.
I thought that was the weakest character in the show. No subtlety at all like some of Gervais's best, just in your face and crass, but not as funny as he could have been. If Merchant was had written this one with him, I'd guess he would have cut that character or written him better.
