You mean different weight classes? Or different companies?
Can 130lb mono 1.09mm splice into 80lb diamond hollow core .41mm?
Diamond hollow core had a really bad problem of opening up to even accept the needle to splice it so I wouldn't think it does
@@TeamHardLife any recomendatorio a on hollow core that won’t cost me an arm and a leg? I was planing on sending my reel to you but my vacation week got moved due to seniority and now I have to get ready in a week for my trip.
Do you already have that braid?
If you have the braid we can still use it but will have to splice in a small section of a different braid in weight class as well and can make it work to then hollow core splice the mono in
I just ordered the 100lb Daimond to give me a good margin to make it work and not over fill my reel (daiwa 8000)

4.5-5k setup? Geez! And people call my gear expensive (most expensive combo I own is about one grand, gonna go to 2 eventually but can't see myself spending more than that)😅
That's the way I used to think but these are the tools of my trade and there are way more expensive one out there but these are the best bang for my buck..
@@TeamHardLife oh yeah, once I'm settled down and have everything, fishing and life vise going, I might start with that too. The only reason my gear isn't in that price range is cause for a rod from a practical point of view it really doesn't matter that much as long as the blank has the right action, the guides are high quality and the reel seat is good (none of which really makes the rod exeed 200-400$ depending on the type of rod) and I mostly fish smaller to medium reels with heavier line cause for my waters maximum capacity hardly ever is what counts(1500 yard is basically overkill for anything cause of 50-300, max 500 yard drops while having to use 200lb with a 300lb top shot, giving you the ability to lock up all the way, but when going for sharks with big baits some reserves are always nice in case that great white bites), but stopping power and abrasion resistance does, so half to a quarter the money on line(for the biggest reels, most reels have max. 100$ in line on them) and a quarter to a third on the rod while my reels go up to almost 1k is really where the difference comes from, but my life goal is to move to Australia and be able to fish at least 2-3 days a week there, if I make that happen who knows how the gear will evolve, I mean a few years back 2-3 hundred bucks was a crazy amount for a setup 😅
I used to be able to see the rods in that same mind set however when we moved up to roller guided rods so many new doors opened up and the extras that I want in a rod made that price go way up.. straighy unibutts not bent or Winthrop position butt, full roller guided rod not including sealed bearing rollers, and the blank 80lb-130lb already take it up over $700-$800 without any without it being built, that's with 2 price increases that have happened hoping they stop going up
