Great review. I would like to see you do a Tarpon rod review breaking them down in the same categories from entry level to top end. Once again thanks for the review on the reels.
I bought a Stella and a Saltiga. The divorce papers showed up a few days later. 😂🤣😂 In all seriousness, I have a TP 6000SW that I use for jumbo striped bass here in the Northeast and it is one of my favorite reels. The smoothness is incredible and it is light for a 6000. Very powerful reel as well. Great content and video for us tackle junkie. Cheers!
Nice comparison. I have owned Shimano’s for many years. Recently I picked up a few Diawa’s and love them. They are both excellent reels. Either will do the job.❤
Saltigas are on another level. I agree with your thing about knobs. I don't like those round slick power handles I like the rubberized egg or flat T. . Im getting a 5000 twin power
Love this content on reel reviews and comparisons. Nobody else on youtube does reviews like this or they have no idea what they are talking about (often fanboys). I find daiwa makes awesome saltwater reels and Shimano does finesse very well.
I love my saltist mq, certate sw, twinpower sw and vr. All amazing reels. Have been thinking of getting either the saltiga, stella or vsx2. What would yall recommend. I only fish the beach and I dont swim with my reel. I go for bull reds and big jacks.
@@TopSecretAsiant but the problem is that I want to spend a little more on my rod too. So I thought that Sahara or naci will go best with tsurinoya mystery medium heavy rod. I currently at using nexave and I really enjoyed its smoothness. Stradic is too expensive 💔. Spheros has that very big egg knob that is very uncomfortable for lure casting like 30 grams from the rocks. I prefer small power knob or paddle knob. Anyways thanks for the advise a I really appreciate your effort. 😊😊😊
@@fishingislife34 if you have the money, get the Shimano Miravel if not get the Daiwa Eliminator 3000 (if you want something a bit heavier) or Fuego LT 4000 (for a lighter setup). If you want to stay Shimano I would get the Nasci FC.
Hi man, I want to get the 2020 Saltiga 10K H or Stella 8K HG, but I was wondering for your opinion whether if i should just hold on for a little more until next year 2025 Yokohama fishing fest for the new release of the flagship models for both Stella or Saltiga? Thanks in advance.
I mean, that’s probably your call. The current reels are so good, and they’re not going to suck when the new ones come out. If your always want to have the newest, and your current gear is good, maybe hold off for the new one
@@tailwateroutfitters i know, the current Stellas are amazing, i have a 4K FK, and a 14K SW. i dont know what shimano could possibly do more... theres more things i like on the Stellas then the Saltigas. just my opinion.
Just buy good old the original 2016 BG, not the mq not the sw, not the saltist (except saltist mq), i have used BG 5000 for topwater GT popping here in Indonesia for almost 5 years now, and its still run smooth as butter and powerful enough to pull a 20kg GT, and its fairly cheap for its spec
I've owned almost all size Spheros and from 8k up the drag is pathetic and almost unusable. The drag washers are tiny and start to stick at like 15lb of drag. Size 6k and under is probably the best value on the market on the other hand.
@@Im-mv6bf I always run Cal's drag grease, the drag washers are too small for the larger models. Penn Spinfisher has way better drag performance for basically the same price.
The quantum reliance is better than all them reels. I had a Penn reel and I was only catching salmon trout off the beach and the ree by the end of the day would wind any line it was like the drag failed I took it back and was tood.i broke it won't cover it. So I wont purchase a Penn again. I stick to okuma, Abu Garcia and now quantum dont need to spend big bucks to catch big fish

The SW 2021 version?
Why i found this channel so late... I love this content

Thanks!!! Agreed, Daiwa has come a long way in the last 5 years or so and make some killer reels
I find daiwa to be more smoother than shimano.
The Penn also comes with a replacement knob if you don’t like the metal one.
A video like this for king mackerel would be awesome
Saltigas are on another level. I agree with your thing about knobs. I don't like those round slick power handles I like the rubberized egg or flat T. . Im getting a 5000 twin power
Super professional in depth review, for me across the price points it’d be the Shimano Spheros SW, Van Staal, Daiwa Saltiga.
Appreciate that!! Those are super solid picks
Hard to beat the good ol van staal
TP bro TP
Except for the price
The Spheros have the same IPX rating as the Saragossa. They’re pretty much the same reel except for the drag. The Spheros is amazing for the price
Yea absolutely!!
Cant beat a BG
@@gha-kantfrj nah if it ain’t broke don’t fix it 🦾
Fantastic video - I own two spheros swa 6000 and they are undeniably the best bang for your buck!
Thank you! Agreed! They can’t be beat for under $200!
I still use my Cabo 80, but did get a Slammer iv 6500 dx. And now we got Penn Battle IV, can add in the mix too.
I know you reviewed the Slammer and Battle. How does the SSVIi compare?
Which brand lasts the longest under regular use?
I really like my saltist its a awesome reel

Thanks for that Daniel! We really appreicate it! Glad you enjoy!
What about a shimano stradic 5000 on a star rod 8ft medium heavy for tarpon?
Should be fine for smaller fish, but anything 50+ pounds and you’d be under gunned quite a bit

X2!
Get a saltiga bro
Saltiga
Spheros vs BG ... what's your preference?
I would do the spheros since it’s much smoother. But BG if you needed more durability.
Can someone tell me a good rod and reel for large fish on piers
Anything cheaper? Like shimano soccoro
That’s fine too, but I think the best value is the spheros
Is shimano Sahara fj a good reel for inshore medium game fishing?
They are decent, if you can get a stradic, or you can get a spheros sw 5000

I think the Spheros can still compete with those reels in the next tier...
For me Certate all day ❤
Saltist backbay, bg mq, soccoro, spinfisher, stradic sw, bg sw,?

2019 Shimano Stella 30000 😊
I own BG MQ 8000 And its just to small😢,
Awesome thanks 👍👍👍👍
Y’all need to try out the Okuma Azores, it blows all those entry level reels out of the water at $150 price point.

Grease the drag washers. You end up with a smoother drag range as well as a higher drag cap as apposed to nothing, on, and too tight
