I saw another guy tying the vertical wires together but htis makes much more sense to keep the strength
DANNY, thats better then most fence splices ive seen done that wont come apart foe sure great job! thank you for the video.. have a blessed and safe day
I have spliced fences this way. It works, but I’m in the middle of a fencing project on my homestead now and I made a splicing tool out of a small pair of bolt cutters. It works great. Thanks for posting this. Tim @ Hidden Meadow Farm-Central Mississippi
Thanks. Someone just ran thru my fence last night and i was trying to figure out how i am going to fix it. I think this will do it.
Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom! Really helpful for those of us who didn’t grow up in the country and are now learning a lot all at once! Now going to go apply it! Thanks!
You sure make putting up fencing look easy. I struggle with fencing, any and all kind of fence. Chicken wire, (the devil) hardware cloth, chain link and field fence; they all whoop my butt. Every dang time! Absolutely my least favorite job to do on the homestead.
I learn so many useful homesteading skills from y'all ❤ As always, I appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
Thank you, I snapped a bottom wire on my goat fence this evening (too much tension when fitting wire to end post) and used the method you showed to repair it
That looks very nice; it is all straight and neat. Good job.
Thank you Sr. Bless you.
Great job! If I dont have the right tool, I go get it. It usually takes me way longer to get the job done. I dont have your level of know-how. Good Morning to you both.
That tip...and the one about how to tie tomatoes are in my top ten favourites of your tips...well done..:) thanks from Fans in Australia..:)
Great idea and so obvious but often overlooked!!
Good demo. We do it like this, as well. Makes for a strong, near seamless looking, join.
Thanks I’m about to do just what u r doing n I needed to know how to connect them both together thanks so much n God bless
Cool It is always a nice surprise to learn a new way to do something. Where you kept the wires running straight I have always bent them back and twisted around forming interlocking loops, but your way I think would be less noticeable from a distance
Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for sharing Danny that will sure hold! Gloves are the key! LOL
Annie Farmer Its almost impossible without gloves those wires are so stiff. Thanks girl
Good job. We getting snow here in northern KY today.very odd
Good thing you had your linemans pliers with you.
Great job, thumbs up!!!
Great job ! 👍
thank you ... very helpful
Thanks so much!
Thanks for sharing.
Great job
Good job Danny. And you've reminded me that I need some more decent gloves :)
I use a 3 Hole High Tensile Wire Twisting Tool from Tractor Supply. It is a $4 tool that I firmly believe is a Godsend when it comes to working with fencing.
Adonai Yir'eh Homestead I have one just didnt want to go back to the barn and get it.
Adonai Yir'eh Homestead I like the Kencove wire twisting tool . 😀
Sure looks secure!
Great job, it amazes me that you do such a high level of work on everything you do, very high quality.
I have to wonder if your desire for near perfection is the reason why it will cost you $6000 to make a pond??? I made a fish pond about 25 years ago and it only cost me about $350, it's still being used to this day.
3 days labor fro a big trac hoe and dozer to build a pond. That is why it will cost that much. I already have the pipe and valve.
thanks
That fence isn't coming apart any time soon, that's for sure!
Danny, if you're having that much difficulty twisting that wire, I don't know if this is something that I could do myself. You spoke of a tool designed for the job, could you show it sometime? Would the tool give enough of a mechanical advantage that I would be able to do this job?
MotherOfManyHorses I will it makes the job a lot easier. Thanks
Great video, and some great fence building there. I hope this works to keep the dogs and the deer out. It's been almost 4 months since Christmas. People who got puppies will be getting tired of them, so it's about time for them to start dumping them out here away from town. I hate it, because they dump them out here then we have to take care of them to keep them from killing our livestock.
❤️❤️❤️
We have gobs of fencing to do...at some point. Building our chicken run now ~ Dan 🦊
what would be the life of a fence like that in Central Florida? Specs of that fence?
😊
Echo the high quality comment below to achieve outcome for the fence to hold after stretching and Long Term wear and usage.
I am lost as to what was different at the end ? did you double lap the end?
No it's just the camera man changed position he's now filming looking down the fence I had thought the same thing you did the first time I watched it.
Seems like a post with a deadmans anchor would be quicker, stronger and more aesthetic
It would, but I didn't want another post to mow around. This looks neater and more uniform. Thanks
Check out Tim Thompson fencing, tests all knots great content even for the pros
NOOOOOOO!!! Pain in butt although if you're going to do it this way do loops over time them joins will move
Also make a twitcher, them twists will be tight A.F and crimps on mesh are better than gripples.
Isn't that always the way it goes, the tool you need is never with you when you need it?
:")
Danny, it may be my eyes but it looked like one of your wires wasn't completely twisted, sticking out just a tad. I would hate not to say something because I didn't want to appear stupid and then have someone needing stitches later on.
Rhonda Holt I dont twist them all the way down till i have them all started so it dosent get out of line. Thanks
