- Short and to the point, this video demonstrates how to splice two sections of woven wire together with pliers. This could be helpful if you are building fences on your farm, homestead or ranch for sheep, goats or cows.
I was out in the field and needed to figure out how to splice a fence. Great video, to the point with no waffle. Now my fence looks great. Thank you!
Thanks, looks good and no extra tools needed!
Thanks for the info, I'm just midway through fencing a field in the Peak District UK and used this video to assist 😁
Great job Art! I just love this fencing. It's going to totally be beautiful to look at as well as great to keep animals in the pasture of all sorts! Not just a cow but goats, sheep, even your chickens could run in there. Such a wonderful job.

Wish I had seen this sooner, but we are getting ready to do more, so this will really come in handy. THANK YOU!!!
Thank you. This technique is exactly what I was looking for to help protect our goats.
Very timely for me! I will be putting up fencing soon at our new homestead and had been wondering how to join them. Thank you Art! That was very helpful!
Just used your method worked great .
I pulled horse fence super tight everything held great and it looks good.
Thanks
Thanks Art, I hope to be putting my fence in this week. T posts should be here tomorrow,
Thoroughly enjoy your vlogs. We are currently looking for a place to go from back yard homesteading, to room for livestock and a bigger garden. I'm already handrearing a 2 day old lamb that was deserted. What a great lifestyle. 😊
I love the simple and right to the point DIY videos!
Thank you for showing me this. It's very helpful.
You make it look easy.
Thanks for this video! I was out in the field with this same fencing. I had an idea what to do, but I think my idea would have been unnecessary work. Your splice looks clean, simple and strong! Thanks
Your fencing Is coming along nicely. Getting excited to see your new cow.
I wish I had seen this video last week! We had our first experience with woven fencing on Monday. This would've been really helpful then. At least we'll know for next time. :)
Short sweet to the point very informative thanks now I feel better about trying it myself
Coming along nicely. Shame the video is short, but you're obviously a busy man.
Simple, clear and to the point. Thanks!
Fence looks great. That splicing sure can make for sore fingers and hands. I can't wait to see your cows in there
Good morning Art and BRI,NICE JOB with the fence thanks for the fencing lesson awesome,God bless bye.🐐🐓🐔🐣🐂🏡
It’s 3 years later 7:17 at night and snowing and this is just what I was looking for.
Thanks. Short and great video.
Thank you for explaining how to do that. We have done it in a really "poor" way before so that is great to learn such a study way to do it.
Thank you for the reminder! I need a new pair of pliers! Thank u again for a great video and tip!
Great video , perfect content sound recording clear enough to hear a mosquito . Instruction and cautions raise over al level .
Good explanation
Looks nice. Thanks for info. I'll know soon if fencing will be added to my to do list.
Thanks for sharing
Looks great.
From the scratches on your arm it looks like the fence fought back a little. :-)
This is really good to know. I'm going to have some fencing to do soon.
Cut both pieces of fence ends, overlap by one fence square then tie both ends of each fence section together. Two tied ends is way stronger when stretching the fence tight.
Thanks for the video. Way better than what I was doing haha.
will b doing tomorrow - very timely vid :-) thanks from down under 👍
Great thanks
Thanks!
What a great skill to learn before animals get into your garden!!! ty vm
Almost ready for that trip to go get the jersey😉
Art another very helpful video thanks. Looks like your using red brand fence wire. Premium wire and not cheep either and made to last.
Good job. But holy I blinked and it was over. LOL
Nice tip. I did that job last summer but only around 400' of fence.
Thanks for great video!
Nice pliers. I some just like yours, only with red handles.
you are a great teacher!!!
Thanks for all the tips, Arthur. I've been particularly following your fencing videos as we are putting a perimeter fence around the farm. I've never worked on woven-wire fences before but I'm confident I can get my hands to do this. For planning purposes, what would you say is the most critical step in the whole process? Blessings.
Looks easy just wont hold up under strain. Use a speed knott instead. Even a fig 8 knott would be better.
Great Job, Art!
great job there I do it the same way
Always enjoyable!
Thanks Bro, great tip.
Hey can you share information on the fence that you use for the goats? I am looking to purchase a similar system as soon as possible. I like the set-up that you have and would love to know more about! Thanks! -Amy
Awesome tip.. how did you become so knowledgeable with homesteading, farming, fencing etc? aren't you a nurse by profession? thanks :)
Great video
This is very cool
great information
Great Job!!
hi art and bri, well done with the fence art. when are you getting the cow
Good stuff Art!!
If you get the 12 guage with 10 gauge tops it's a lot harder to roll
Great job
But using a fence splicer would take 1/3 of the time and effort

try this to save your fence posts from repairs in the future. ua-cam.com/video/mcuAsJ5otrs/v-deo.html
this is the worst part of fencing...it takes so much time for newbees
Art, you talked about cows eating the metal. Have you ever heard of cow magnets?
I was elping my neighbor rebuild a harrow and we found one that had stuck to part of the framework of the harrow. When I saw it my buddy told me it was a cow magnet. I looked at him like he had two heads. But Mr. Google pants proved him right.

Michael Ponte yep, we had cow magnets in school when we learned about magnets. They didn't look like that though, they were one solid piece and pretty heavy. I found their preferred orientation interesting! I didn't know that but I believe it. I can not sleep east/west. It has to be north/south preferably south. I think that's a feng shui thing too. My son has sensory issues and he hates being on his back. Even when he was an infant.. it made changing diapers a challenge. I remember feeling sensations of falling when I was on my back when I was younger as well. Especially looking up at the moving clouds.
I am the same way about being on my back. Can not sleep that way.
Thanks for your reply.
