In general, I feel like this whole movie forgot to show us what happened to Bridget and instead they told us what happened to Bridget. They basically broke the main rule of writing which is "Show not tell." At least, they could've showed a flashback of what happened, which usually is a good way to show Bridget's trauma whether telling us what happened to her that made her a whole control freak in the first place. Instead we, the audience, are told what happened through song or conversation.
I agree. The movie spent too much time setting up the conflict that we didn’t get to see the payoff or ramifications of the new timeline because it ended in the middle of the story.
Just like Secrets of Dumbledore when Dumbledore told Newt what happened with his sister instead of showing a flashback when it was THE MOST ANTICIPATED MOMENT FOR THE FANS
If you do a part two, please include this: I know you touched on this but I'll still mention that RED HAD ABSOLUTELY NO DEVELOPMENT WHATSOEVER! Red always thought being evil was bad and that her mother is wrong, so at the end there wasn't an "aha I'm actually good" moment. Meanwhile, in Descendants 1, Mal thought her mother was RIGHT until proven otherwise by the people of Auradon, nothing like that happens to Red at ALL and it bothered me because she had one flaw, her evil mother, and no others and no development at all🙄😕
I THINK the difference is her being coerced and manipulated by her mom. She had to realize her mom was wrong about her absolutely being evil no matter what - no it wasn't a character flaw, but it was her deciding that her mother was wrong and she herself can change her own destiny. Very much claiming her independence as the person above me mentioned. Healing from abuse and choosing to not continue the cycle of abuse is a journey all on its own
I feel like Mal and Red just had different lessons to learn, it would be kind of silly for them to just give Red Mal's character arc after all. Mal had to learn to be good, Red had to learn that she already was. Red and Chloe both had to learn the number one lesson of ethics, what is good is not always lawful and what is lawful is not always good. Chloe had to learn it when it came to others, and Red had to learn it when it came to herself. I think they honestly had a good starting point and ending point for their character arcs, it's the middle where they failed. They just didn't give themselves enough time to really show them learning what they needed to. The movie would have benefited quite a lot from an extra half hour or so
I think it would be a really funny bit if fairy godmother used the magic of a credit card and just bought a dress and played it off like she finally got a hand of her magic

The whole Ursula's sister thing literally only happened because Morgana Le Fay's son was a main villain in the movie. They didn't want to confuse the Morgana's up, so they changed Ursula's sister's name. However, in Disney's Sword in the stone movie, Morgana Le Fay is named Madam Mim. They made this way more complicated than it had to be.
My main concern with the movie is the fact that, instead of trying to reform the Queen, they just go back in time and ‘fix’ her instead. As someone who hasn’t watched the movie (only the review NL made), it seems odd that they would turn an abuser good by going back in time. What does that mean for Red? Does she just have to pretend her trauma doesn’t exist? Does her mother have completely different memories of raising her, and is there an alternate version of Red? What is the intended message? Like, they made a horrible dictator become good simply by fixing one aspect of their childhood. Does the movie want us to see everyone who acts like this like the audience is supposed to see the queen? Does it want people to sympathize with their abusers and just excuse it as out of their control? Time travel is a fun concept, but it often leaves a lot of gaps in a story.
at the end of the movie, Uma implies that messing with time travel doesn't change things as easily as it looks, and hints towards a sequel. fingers crossed 🤞🏻 they find out Bridget isn't gonna change her ways just by stopping one prank and there's a better way of making her good
yeah i just don't get how that works for red now, does she have to pretend like none of it ever happened? that's a lot of baggage especially if chloes the only other person that knows the truth
This was my biggest problem with the film when I watched it too. Something just doesn't sit right with me about completely changing her mum's personality rather than actively talking to her and working through what she went through in the present. It seemed very rushed and somewhat shallow
negative, you should def start a petition to bring back ever after high. you have a sizeable platform and i'm sure there's plenty other content creators you could reach out to that would love to collaborate on this project as well. i know tons of people who would sign in a heartbeat. it'd show mattel there's definitely an audience for the show & the dolls if they decide to go through with it. besides, even if it doesn't go anywhere, nothing is really lost and we would still all find a sense of community in how many people loved ever after high and would like to have it back

On the third comment about the VK’s not being able to make the cupcake in either timeline: Even IF Ella made the cupcake to avoid the plot of the VK’s not being able to do so, that DOES NOT explain how the future changed from freezing the VKs and Bridget is good now, if Ella made the cupcake. So personally I’m not sure how this plot point can even make sense since it seems like a paradox
While it might be true that Descendants has its own canon - villians that had died in the disney movies being alive and on the isle and younger or all the og heroes like Cinderella, Snow, Belle being the same ages - however, Rise of Red breaks even the new canon they created, there are multiple references to the events of the animated movies throughout the movies, it is heavily implied and reiterated multiple times that before Auradon, all the stories unfolded according to the various Disney movies. It makes no sense for everyone to go to school together, it's not Ever After High.
yeah! and merlin academy existing violates D1 because in D1 Ben says his dad turned the castle into Auradon Prep. It was just a castle before Beast became king. Plus like the timeline makes no sense. D1 says that Auradon and the Isle were created twenty years ago with Mal, Ben, Evie and Jay being born 4 years later (Carlos is canonically younger than the rest by like a year). D2 is 6 months after D1 and D3 is when Mal, Ben, and Evie are graduating high school so roughly two years have passed since D1. ROR says it takes place thirty years post creation of Auradon which places it 8 years after D3. And they travel back 40 years so ten years before creation of Auradon. You telling me that in ten years Maleficent manages to curse Sleeping Beauty and see Aurora turn 16. Unless Maleficent cursed Aurora while still in school which I do not believe. Also all the parents going to school together is nonsense.
Here is something, Lizzie & Red can be cousins while their mothers can be cousins but the the original Disney Queen of Hearts can be their Great Great Grandmother and Queen from Alice through the booking glass can be their Mothers's grandmother
I like both Descendants and ever after high but it does feel like there is a reason they waited so long to do Alice in the wonderland characters other than ally from wicked world
The canon was destroyed when Wicked World came out.. it’s not that deep lol and then also when more Isle of the Lost books came out, and then when Descendants 3 references the books which was retconned by the previous movie. Like this series isn’t consistent with its “canon”. Yes the movie has a terrible third act, but it doesn’t destroy everything. It’s still fun and I’m excited for what’s more to come!

It's hard to hug my self sometimes so a big one helps me with a big one. When in crowed places then I have a small one, so I can put my hand in bag and hold it or just scuize it like stress ball. It wouldn't get 100% of panic attacke, but it would help it calm it down, especially if you put some favorite scent or calming one in the for of like perfume. I'm in my mid 20s and yes, I still have plushies, but it helps even more knowing they're from dear people. I'm still sorry for what happened to her and you both. I have a question HOW DID THE VILLIANS GET THE BOOK THE FIRST TIME? Like they should have been frozen when they tried to steal the book cause Red and Chloe just set off all the traps. They did not stop them from getting the book they just made it easier. The only reason the villain’s plan didn’t succeed was because of the curse placed on the book that froze them. SO HOW DID THEY GET THE BOOK IN THE FIRST TIMELINE WITHOUT GETTING FROZEN?!? It doesn’t make sense. Also so much would’ve changed from them “stopping the villians”. They wouldn’t be at Red’s invitation to Auradon Ceremony cause Red would already be allowed at Auredon since Bridget would’ve never tried to take over Auradon. Again complete oversight. I could say more but if I broke down every way this movie failed we’d be here all day.
See the thing that really breaks my mind with the new movie is that Chad Charming is canonically Chloe's brother. The absolutely lovely couple from the Rodgers Hammerstein's Cinderella somehow raised Chad Charming!!!

OKAY my theory: So we know that 1. Fairy is bad at magic in the past, 2. Sea witch girl had a whole gang and plan that didnt nessiceraly require them to all be in the room/touch the book, and 3. Ella mustve gotten grounded somehow for the *orignal* story to take place, i believe that 1. Jane was around during the sea witch's plan and somehow casted a powerful spell the nullifed merlins spell (which would both explain why shes at the top in the original trilogly *and* why magic is banned in the school) and 2. That bridget for whatever reason went to Ellas house and broke the vase causing Ella to abandon her for charming at the dance, and honestly theres a possiblity and bridget didnt even know Ella was there untill after the prank.... 3:36 might be a little bit of a stretch but I don’t think that was the reason why Bridget become who she is now I feel like it’s more to it revolving around Ella and this scene shows us that it wasn’t the prank that ruined Bridget Yeah they go back to the future and everything is fine but I think a prank needed to be attempted in order for Ella and Bridget to have that falling out because that prank probably caused conflicted Between them
I'll be the first to admit that this movie has its fair share of flaws (even upon a first casual viewing it felt incredibly incomplete). But man, they somehow made me love the movie anyway with the inclusion of Morgie, Morgana Le Fay's son (The only 'VK' in the movie who I think actually fits the original meaning of the nickname haha). He only has maybe a good five minutes of screentime, yet after watching the end of the movie, where he gets most of his screentime being a look-out during the book-stealing adventure, I was intrigued enough with his character to sit through a second viewing and focus on him. And I was pleasantly surprised! His characterization at the end of the movie being all happy and golden-retriever-like (I mean he literally mimics a dog--) made me raise an eyebrow the first time around, but after rewatching every second of his screentime, I found he's actually rather consistent throughout the movie, despite not having many speaking lines. A particular detail I like is that his main trait seems to be his reliance and loyalty to Uliana, and that is reflected by him not only being the one to be her hype-man in the villain introduction scene, but just how often he can be seen looking at her whenever they're in the same scene. Other examples of this trait would be: When Uliana begins freaking out and turning into a half-flamigo-thing, he's the first one to rush to help her (and doesn't succeed). When Uliana runs after Bridget, he's the first to sprint after her. When they approach the lake right before their revenge-making song, he can be heard saying "I thought you were a beautiful flamingo, Uli" (paraphrasing). And, in the most in-your-face scene, he agrees to be look-out and enthusiastically asks her what the signal should be, trying to impress her with how many dog breeds he can mimic. In fact, I think the only lines of his that don't involve Uliana are his introduction verse, and him agreeing they should burn Bridget to a crisp with worrying enthusiasm. I think it's really cool they managed to work all that into a character that's, in the grand scheme of things, not actually very prominent in the movie (Though he is on some of the promotional posters, unlike Hades and Maleficent, if I'm not mistaken). He's clearly desperate for Uliana's attention and praise, and they communicated that pretty well. I'm not sure if all this is actually leading up to anything in the alleged part 2, but it'd be cool if it did! Seeing as he seems to do everything for Uliana instead of a genuine "hehehe I love being evil >:)" motivation, *maybe* you could have so he could potentially open the evil book? Since he was purposefully left out of the scene where the other villains get frozen. Seeing as his barking and howling doesn't actually warn anyone or effect the plot in any way, really the only reason for him to be a look-out would be for later plot relevance, or just because the moviemakers thought it was really funny and was very important to keep in for that reason alone (The reason I'm thinking about this is because I heard Disney said the movie had to be around an hour and a half, and scenes were cut because of this; yet the Morgie scene is the scene they decided was definitely important enough to keep in). I find all this quite fascinating, and I might end up making some sort of post about it myself now that I realize I have *way* more to say than I thought. I bet you can guess who my favorite character is, if you read through all that. I was originally making this in hopes it would be chosen if there was ever a part two, but this comment got so long I'd honestly feel bad if all of it had to be read out loud, haha.
You know there's a lot of theories That Ever After High might come back this year because of the new songs for Ever After High the got deleted because they were AI generated I think that is actually telling the fans of Ever After High that they are going to make a comeback and the only reason why they deleted them was because Mattel's embarrassed and they couldn't get Kaylee Bumford back to sing these songs so they're just embarrassed which is why they remove them from Spotify and also Mattel recover the trademark for Ever After High they did that was my scene and then there was an announcement say the my scene is coming back so I'm pretty sure that it ever after high is going to also going to come back now that descendants is flopping Ever After High can finally come back from the ashes like a beautiful Phoenix ready to kill descendants
It makes no sense to me that they made another sister for Ursula (Uliana) completely forgetting about Morgana, but they added Morgie, (son of Morgana) for no reason other then to make my brain hurt. also was it just me or did the design on Chloe's pants change from the dark blue leg to the light blue leg every other scene

I still think Morgana should be there instead of Uliana. She could have been a cool contrast for Red honestly. Red's mom want's her to be evil and crueler then her and red is often in the spot light and given chances to be so,where as Morgana want's to be evil and better,crueler then Ursula but is often ignored and the chances are given to ursula from the sounds of it. Morgana made comments of wanting to be her mothers favorite,and Red is trying to get the opposite,she doesn't really want to be liked by her mom. Or more so if she does she isn't exactly being what her mom wants her to be even though it would make her mom like her. Their like opposites with some changes. It would have also given a nicer motivation(In my op). They could have added a layer where Ursula failed to prank Bridget,so Morgana wanted to be successful at it,and then it turned personal when she got turned into the flamingo thing. If there is going to be another movie they could have used it to add Morgana and Ursula through Uma. Which would make all the advertising with Uma more like a hint to them being important,since one is her mom and the other her aunt. The second movie could even have Morgana noticing the time alteration and being riled up from it,or having Uma think Morgana can be reformed after visiting her,after all Morgana has used the sympathy act before to get what she wants. But the Queen of hearts finding out Uma might try and bring Morgana in to try and reform her,and end up wanting to isolate Wonderland from the school, because she doesn't want anything to do with Morgana again. Even if she turned good she could still have a grudge or fear since Uliana/Morgana was out to get her back in school. It could turn into a lesson of sorting out personal grudges and also showing people they can change. I know the other descendant movies kinda did that but the thing with them is that the kids,who never did any of the evil stuff it was their parents, so the kids where the ones getting reformed or believed to be able to. I think it would be cool to see a character like Morgana actually end up reforming even though she is one of the actual villains of the past essentially,who are all mostly locked away on the ail of the lost. I just think she would have had more to offer then a totally new sister even if she isn't considered canon most the time. Uliana just doesn't have much that makes her interesting and they don't relate her to Uma even though they would be family,she seems more like a plot check-mark then a character.
I'm glad they dropped the repunzel idea and changed the character because if it's going on with the original story, repunzel would still be in the tower so how would she go to school?

We have to read the book that will probably take place after the movie and see what happens then the new movie comes out. Because I met a lot of people that never read the books and only watched the movies and get confused on some of the stuff.
Regardless of if there is a sequel or not, you HAVE to watch Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella! It's by far the best iteration in the last 4 decades of a live action Fairy tale and it will at least help you to draw some better conclusion between Ella and Charming (plus Whoopi Goldberg and Whitney Houston aren't that bad either)
Man I really wish there wasn’t a time travel plot in general. I think it would’ve been SO good if they stuck with red rebelling against her mom. Specifically, if there was a scene where Red was caught while vandalizing the castle and it was revealed to her mom that she was the one causing problems, and then while issuing a punishment it’s like a huge reveal and she has to choose whether or not she should punish her daughter or not. Like a way of making her mom feel the way she feels in a way or something like that.

The ONLY way the cookbook could be opened by the VP (Villian Parent) group is if Morgie, the son of Morgana Le Fay opens the cookbook. He seems like a morally good character that was forced to be with the VPs due to his linage of having a mom who is a villain. Morgie sadly unable to break away from the VP group due to the fear of being persecuted far worse than Bridget, the reason being that the others would see it as Morgie backstabbing/betraying them.
I'm sorry, but that tiktok... what the hell is wrong with some people? Like... DUDE. HOWWWWWWW do you come to that conclusion? I didn't even watch the movie, and it's obvious that Red is just dumbfounded as to how her mother could turn into such a terrible person after spending her teen years being this bright pink, bubbly ray of sunshine.

I’m just gonna say it…this movie did not need to be a two-parter. This could’ve been a satisfying self-contained movie, if the writers got rid of unnecessary characters and plotlines (aka Ursula’s little sister), and developed the characters they already had.

I haven't seen anyone talk about just how boring and one note Chole is. She had EVERYTHING going for her and no interal struggles to begin with. Also, I'm so upset that Chole's entire character arc is her learning the nuisances of good and evil, when she should already know that considering the fact that VK's in Auradon is normal now.

I've never gotten into any of these descendants movies but I'm glad Disney is still making franchises that people can find community in. Hope NL's partner gets to enjoy concerts one day, she seems like a great person to go to a concert with.
9:12 In all honesty, the chances of Mattel bringing back the EAH shows, webisodes, books, and dolls are very, very, very, low. Yes, you could make the argument that they brought MH back so they could easily do the same for EAH, and I will admit that is true but since Mattel got the Disney doll's rights back I don’t think Mattel has been willing to take that chance on bringing EAH back unless they decide to sell the books, show, webisodes, and dolls to someone else.

i watched rise of red with my friend. it was not a great movie, not bad either. it needs something more. i mean the movie pretty much had them go into the past and not really effect anything. most they did was get cinderella grounded and stole hook's shoes. what should have happened was that the villains should have pressured cinderella into helping them with the prank. since the stuff they did for set up didn't match anything or seem effected by the past at all. it was a long movie without a pay off so i am left salty. i did like the parts that felt ever after high ish. and me and my friend did do a drinking game on all the different parts that felt 100% ever after high lifted. i wish your love and you luck, and that you find a nice place the move. good luck with it all. remember when i doubt cake at midnight always seems to make things better. no idea why, but it does.
Here's one thing that's been bothering me... Why are there even villain kids in the past to begin with? If Bridget started out nice and only became evil after life-altering trauma, shouldn't that same logic apply to *ALL* of the villain kids too? If they really needed bully characters, why not just have them be, oh, I don't know, CINDERELLA'S STEPSISTERS?? Lady Tremaine appears in the film, and the original animated Cinderella from 1950 establishes that Anastasia and Drizella were always spoiled brats to begin with and that's why Cinderella's family's fortune ran out.
Uliana was unnecessary because Ursula already has a sister ironically named morgana from little mermaid II. We could have gotten young morgana in the past instead of Uliana and Morgi who might i remind everyone is from sorcerers apprentice. I had to look that movie up because i had no clue what it was.

They basically broke the main rule of writing which is "Show not tell." At least, they could've showed a flashback of what happened, which usually is a good way to show Bridget's trauma whether telling us what happened to her that made her a whole control freak in the first place. Instead we, the audience, are told what happened through song or conversation.

I know you touched on this but I'll still mention that RED HAD ABSOLUTELY NO DEVELOPMENT WHATSOEVER! Red always thought being evil was bad and that her mother is wrong, so at the end there wasn't an "aha I'm actually good" moment. Meanwhile, in Descendants 1, Mal thought her mother was RIGHT until proven otherwise by the people of Auradon, nothing like that happens to Red at ALL and it bothered me because she had one flaw, her evil mother, and no others and no development at all🙄😕
The movie didn't have to play Red's independence from her mother as being synonymous with her being "good" straight from the get go. But it did.
I THINK the difference is her being coerced and manipulated by her mom. She had to realize her mom was wrong about her absolutely being evil no matter what - no it wasn't a character flaw, but it was her deciding that her mother was wrong and she herself can change her own destiny. Very much claiming her independence as the person above me mentioned. Healing from abuse and choosing to not continue the cycle of abuse is a journey all on its own
I feel like Mal and Red just had different lessons to learn, it would be kind of silly for them to just give Red Mal's character arc after all. Mal had to learn to be good, Red had to learn that she already was. Red and Chloe both had to learn the number one lesson of ethics, what is good is not always lawful and what is lawful is not always good. Chloe had to learn it when it came to others, and Red had to learn it when it came to herself. I think they honestly had a good starting point and ending point for their character arcs, it's the middle where they failed. They just didn't give themselves enough time to really show them learning what they needed to. The movie would have benefited quite a lot from an extra half hour or so

My main concern with the movie is the fact that, instead of trying to reform the Queen, they just go back in time and ‘fix’ her instead. As someone who hasn’t watched the movie (only the review NL made), it seems odd that they would turn an abuser good by going back in time. What does that mean for Red? Does she just have to pretend her trauma doesn’t exist? Does her mother have completely different memories of raising her, and is there an alternate version of Red? What is the intended message? Like, they made a horrible dictator become good simply by fixing one aspect of their childhood. Does the movie want us to see everyone who acts like this like the audience is supposed to see the queen? Does it want people to sympathize with their abusers and just excuse it as out of their control? Time travel is a fun concept, but it often leaves a lot of gaps in a story.

This was my biggest problem with the film when I watched it too. Something just doesn't sit right with me about completely changing her mum's personality rather than actively talking to her and working through what she went through in the present. It seemed very rushed and somewhat shallow

While it might be true that Descendants has its own canon - villians that had died in the disney movies being alive and on the isle and younger or all the og heroes like Cinderella, Snow, Belle being the same ages - however, Rise of Red breaks even the new canon they created, there are multiple references to the events of the animated movies throughout the movies, it is heavily implied and reiterated multiple times that before Auradon, all the stories unfolded according to the various Disney movies. It makes no sense for everyone to go to school together, it's not Ever After High.

D1 says that Auradon and the Isle were created twenty years ago with Mal, Ben, Evie and Jay being born 4 years later (Carlos is canonically younger than the rest by like a year). D2 is 6 months after D1 and D3 is when Mal, Ben, and Evie are graduating high school so roughly two years have passed since D1. ROR says it takes place thirty years post creation of Auradon which places it 8 years after D3. And they travel back 40 years so ten years before creation of Auradon. You telling me that in ten years Maleficent manages to curse Sleeping Beauty and see Aurora turn 16. Unless Maleficent cursed Aurora while still in school which I do not believe. It's hard to hug my self sometimes so a big one helps me with a big one. When in crowed places then I have a small one, so I can put my hand in bag and hold it or just scuize it like stress ball. It wouldn't get 100% of panic attacke, but it would help it calm it down, especially if you put some favorite scent or calming one in the for of like perfume. I'm in my mid 20s and yes, I still have plushies, but it helps even more knowing they're from dear people. I'm still sorry for what happened to her and you both. I hope she gets better soon, but in the end she needs to take her own time for this stuff. Know that you are also doing amezing to help her. (sorry for bad eng)

I have a question HOW DID THE VILLIANS GET THE BOOK THE FIRST TIME? Like they should have been frozen when they tried to steal the book cause Red and Chloe just set off all the traps. They did not stop them from getting the book they just made it easier. The only reason the villain’s plan didn’t succeed was because of the curse placed on the book that froze them. SO HOW DID THEY GET THE BOOK IN THE FIRST TIMELINE WITHOUT GETTING FROZEN?!?

OKAY my theory: So we know that 1. Fairy is bad at magic in the past, 2. Sea witch girl had a whole gang and plan that didnt nessiceraly require them to all be in the room/touch the book, and 3. Ella mustve gotten grounded somehow for the *orignal* story to take place, i believe that 1. Jane was around during the sea witch's plan and somehow casted a powerful spell the nullifed merlins spell (which would both explain why shes at the top in the original trilogly *and* why magic is banned in the school) and 2. That bridget for whatever reason went to Ellas house and broke the vase causing Ella to abandon her for charming at the dance, and honestly theres a possiblity and bridget didnt even know Ella was there untill after the prank.... When I first heard the title “rise of red” I thought it would involve red riding hood’s kid. Imagine my conflicting emotions when it wasn’t.
3:36 might be a little bit of a stretch but I don’t think that was the reason why Bridget become who she is now I feel like it’s more to it revolving around Ella and this scene shows us that it wasn’t the prank that ruined Bridget
Yeah they go back to the future and everything is fine but I think a prank needed to be attempted in order for Ella and Bridget to have that falling out because that prank probably caused conflicted Between them

I'll be the first to admit that this movie has its fair share of flaws (even upon a first casual viewing it felt incredibly incomplete). But man, they somehow made me love the movie anyway with the inclusion of Morgie, Morgana Le Fay's son (The only 'VK' in the movie who I think actually fits the original meaning of the nickname haha). He only has maybe a good five minutes of screentime, yet after watching the end of the movie, where he gets most of his screentime being a look-out during the book-stealing adventure, I was intrigued enough with his character to sit through a second viewing and focus on him.
And I was pleasantly surprised! His characterization at the end of the movie being all happy and golden-retriever-like (I mean he literally mimics a dog--) made me raise an eyebrow the first time around, but after rewatching every second of his screentime, I found he's actually rather consistent throughout the movie, despite not having many speaking lines.
A particular detail I like is that his main trait seems to be his reliance and loyalty to Uliana, and that is reflected by him not only being the one to be her hype-man in the villain introduction scene, but just how often he can be seen looking at her whenever they're in the same scene. Other examples of this trait would be: When Uliana begins freaking out and turning into a half-flamigo-thing, he's the first one to rush to help her (and doesn't succeed). When Uliana runs after Bridget, he's the first to sprint after her. When they approach the lake right before their revenge-making song, he can be heard saying "I thought you were a beautiful flamingo, Uli" (paraphrasing). And, in the most in-your-face scene, he agrees to be look-out and enthusiastically asks her what the signal should be, trying to impress her with how many dog breeds he can mimic. In fact, I think the only lines of his that don't involve Uliana are his introduction verse, and him agreeing they should burn Bridget to a crisp with worrying enthusiasm.
I think it's really cool they managed to work all that into a character that's, in the grand scheme of things, not actually very prominent in the movie (Though he is on some of the promotional posters, unlike Hades and Maleficent, if I'm not mistaken). He's clearly desperate for Uliana's attention and praise, and they communicated that pretty well.
I'm not sure if all this is actually leading up to anything in the alleged part 2, but it'd be cool if it did! Seeing as he seems to do everything for Uliana instead of a genuine "hehehe I love being evil >:)" motivation, *maybe* you could have so he could potentially open the evil book? Since he was purposefully left out of the scene where the other villains get frozen. Seeing as his barking and howling doesn't actually warn anyone or effect the plot in any way, really the only reason for him to be a look-out would be for later plot relevance, or just because the moviemakers thought it was really funny and was very important to keep in for that reason alone (The reason I'm thinking about this is because I heard Disney said the movie had to be around an hour and a half, and scenes were cut because of this; yet the Morgie scene is the scene they decided was definitely important enough to keep in).
I find all this quite fascinating, and I might end up making some sort of post about it myself now that I realize I have *way* more to say than I thought. I bet you can guess who my favorite character is, if you read through all that. I was originally making this in hopes it would be chosen if there was ever a part two, but this comment got so long I'd honestly feel bad if all of it had to be read out loud, haha.
You know there's a lot of theories That Ever After High might come back this year because of the new songs for Ever After High the got deleted because they were AI generated I think that is actually telling the fans of Ever After High that they are going to make a comeback and the only reason why they deleted them was because Mattel's embarrassed and they couldn't get Kaylee Bumford back to sing these songs so they're just embarrassed which is why they remove them from Spotify and also Mattel recover the trademark for Ever After High they did that was my scene and then there was an announcement say the my scene is coming back so I'm pretty sure that it ever after high is going to also going to come back now that descendants is flopping Ever After High can finally come back from the ashes like a beautiful Phoenix ready to kill descendants

I still think Morgana should be there instead of Uliana. She could have been a cool contrast for Red honestly. Red's mom want's her to be evil and crueler then her and red is often in the spot light and given chances to be so,where as Morgana want's to be evil and better,crueler then Ursula but is often ignored and the chances are given to ursula from the sounds of it. Morgana made comments of wanting to be her mothers favorite,and Red is trying to get the opposite,she doesn't really want to be liked by her mom. Or more so if she does she isn't exactly being what her mom wants her to be even though it would make her mom like her. Their like opposites with some changes.
It would have also given a nicer motivation(In my op). They could have added a layer where Ursula failed to prank Bridget,so Morgana wanted to be successful at it,and then it turned personal when she got turned into the flamingo thing. If there is going to be another movie they could have used it to add Morgana and Ursula through Uma. Which would make all the advertising with Uma more like a hint to them being important,since one is her mom and the other her aunt.
The second movie could even have Morgana noticing the time alteration and being riled up from it,or having Uma think Morgana can be reformed after visiting her,after all Morgana has used the sympathy act before to get what she wants. But the Queen of hearts finding out Uma might try and bring Morgana in to try and reform her,and end up wanting to isolate Wonderland from the school, because she doesn't want anything to do with Morgana again. Even if she turned good she could still have a grudge or fear since Uliana/Morgana was out to get her back in school. It could turn into a lesson of sorting out personal grudges and also showing people they can change.
I know the other descendant movies kinda did that but the thing with them is that the kids,who never did any of the evil stuff it was their parents, so the kids where the ones getting reformed or believed to be able to. I think it would be cool to see a character like Morgana actually end up reforming even though she is one of the actual villains of the past essentially,who are all mostly locked away on the ail of the lost. I just think she would have had more to offer then a totally new sister even if she isn't considered canon most the time. Uliana just doesn't have much that makes her interesting and they don't relate her to Uma even though they would be family,she seems more like a plot check-mark then a character.
I'm glad they dropped the repunzel idea and changed the character because if it's going on with the original story, repunzel would still be in the tower so how would she go to school?

Regardless of if there is a sequel or not, you HAVE to watch Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella! It's by far the best iteration in the last 4 decades of a live action Fairy tale and it will at least help you to draw some better conclusion between Ella and Charming (plus Whoopi Goldberg and Whitney Houston aren't that bad either)

Man I really wish there wasn’t a time travel plot in general. I think it would’ve been SO good if they stuck with red rebelling against her mom. Specifically, if there was a scene where Red was caught while vandalizing the castle and it was revealed to her mom that she was the one causing problems, and then while issuing a punishment it’s like a huge reveal and she has to choose whether or not she should punish her daughter or not. Like a way of making her mom feel the way she feels in a way or something like that.

The ONLY way the cookbook could be opened by the VP (Villian Parent) group is if Morgie, the son of Morgana Le Fay opens the cookbook. He seems like a morally good character that was forced to be with the VPs due to his linage of having a mom who is a villain. Morgie sadly unable to break away from the VP group due to the fear of being persecuted far worse than Bridget, the reason being that the others would see it as Morgie backstabbing/betraying them.

I’m just gonna say it…this movie did not need to be a two-parter. This could’ve been a satisfying self-contained movie, if the writers got rid of unnecessary characters and plotlines (aka Ursula’s little sister), and developed the characters they already had.

I once read that they didn't bring back Ursula's sister because they already had one character connected to "Morgana" so having two Morganas would've been weird... Not that is weirder than Merlin admitting Morgana's spawn into his school

I haven't seen anyone talk about just how boring and one note Chole is. She had EVERYTHING going for her and no interal struggles to begin with. Also, I'm so upset that Chole's entire character arc is her learning the nuisances of good and evil, when she should already know that considering the fact that VK's in Auradon is normal now.

"I was informed very early on...by the head of Disney Channel, Gary Marsh, that the reason this project has taken so long was because Disney Corporate had to approve of somebody officially embellishing on the original stories, because that is what we're doing," Dove explained.

I've never gotten into any of these descendants movies but I'm glad Disney is still making franchises that people can find community in. Hope NL's partner gets to enjoy concerts one day, she seems like a great person to go to a concert with.

In all honesty, the chances of Mattel bringing back the EAH shows, webisodes, books, and dolls are very, very, very, low. Yes, you could make the argument that they brought MH back so they could easily do the same for EAH, and I will admit that is true but since Mattel got the Disney doll's rights back I don’t think Mattel has been willing to take that chance on bringing EAH back unless they decide to sell the books, show, webisodes, and dolls to someone else.
It’s absolutely criminal that the most wanted to see villains other than Uma (Hades, Maleficent, hook) got practically NO lines. Even Morgie, a character who none of us initially knew about, got more lines than all three of them combined.

Okay, so the author of the books, Melissa De La Cruz, was essentially commissioned to write these books, so its Disney approving the retcon.....or the fall into EHA fanfic.

i watched rise of red with my friend. it was not a great movie, not bad either. it needs something more. i mean the movie pretty much had them go into the past and not really effect anything. most they did was get cinderella grounded and stole hook's shoes. what should have happened was that the villains should have pressured cinderella into helping them with the prank. since the stuff they did for set up didn't match anything or seem effected by the past at all. it was a long movie without a pay off so i am left salty. i did like the parts that felt ever after high ish. and me and my friend did do a drinking game on all the different parts that felt 100% ever after high lifted.
i wish your love and you luck, and that you find a nice place the move. good luck with it all. remember when i doubt cake at midnight always seems to make things better. no idea why, but it does.

Here's one thing that's been bothering me... Why are there even villain kids in the past to begin with? If Bridget started out nice and only became evil after life-altering trauma, shouldn't that same logic apply to *ALL* of the villain kids too? If they really needed bully characters, why not just have them be, oh, I don't know, CINDERELLA'S STEPSISTERS?? Lady Tremaine appears in the film, and the original animated Cinderella from 1950 establishes that Anastasia and Drizella were always spoiled brats to begin with and that's why Cinderella's family's fortune ran out.
Uliana was unnecessary because Ursula already has a sister ironically named morgana from little mermaid II. We could have gotten young morgana in the past instead of Uliana and Morgi who might i remind everyone is from sorcerers apprentice. I had to look that movie up because i had no clue what it was.
