my sister put it into words perfectly, the way this movie ended, without a castlecoming scene, or reveal that ella was the one who did the prank, it's like if in coco, Miguel went to the underworld, and the movie played out exactly the same except he finds ernesto de la Cruz, it's actually his great great grandfather, and he gives him his blessing, and that's it, hector is not relevant to the plot at all, no lessons learned whatsoever. it's what it felt like, being robbed of a final act that just brings the whole thing together
tbh i think we might see Castlecoming in the sequel because it's probably going to be involved with the whole idea that time travel has consequences (maybe something bad happens at castlecoming because the prank never happened that Chloe and red need to fix)
@@Cinnamonraisin_Bagel yeah i think so too, but i don’t think the initial plan was to put it in a second movie, i think it was all meant for movie one but they probably did some rewrites or something and ended up deciding to split it, and had to scramble for an ending that wasn’t very satisfying
@@neivilde.1242 Im hoping the unsatisfying ending might be purposeful because honestly something felt off at the end like in an eery way (like i feel like something did go wrong my theory is Somehow Cinderella never met prince charming so now he married someone else, maybe even the queen of hearts or something because cinderella was grounded because of Chloe, though this might be a bit too fanficy)
@@Cinnamonraisin_Bagel I legit though that Chloe would disappear at the end (like Wilbor in Meet the Robinsons), bc Ella was grounded so she and Charming didn’t fall in love so Chloe was never born. Ending on a cliffhanger for the next movie. And then Red would need to find a way to change the past again! While trying to keep the good version of her mother and also getting her best friend back
@@Cinnamonraisin_BagelI was thinking that they’d go back to the present and find things haven’t changed, worse even, and they have to retrace their steps. They find out that Ella was actually the one who pulled the prank, either directly or indirectly because she was jealous. After all, Bridget had an easier time because she was royalty I assume, and I’m pretty sure Ella got made fun of for being poor. It would explain why the queen of hearts is so resentful (bc I felt like her reason wasn’t exactly the best), Chloe would have to learn that her mother wasn’t all that great in the past, and Red would realize that her friend’s mom caused her mom to be the way she is and wonder if Chloe would do the same to her. Probably a mini argument, they make up, and convince Bridget and Ella that “unconditional friendship is the way” or something like that. They go back to the future, maybe getting a mini montage of their parents growing up and stuff (maybe even seeing Chloe and Red growing up as best friends), and they make it to the future where things are normalish. They head to Auradon as best friends and roommates like in that trailer, and all is well for now!
I fully expected the reason bridget changed is bc ella ditched her for prince charming and good luck babe plays in the bg while we get a montage of her seeing them together
I felt like there was an entire third arc that was completely cut, and that made the ending abrupt and off-putting from what they just went through. Would have loved to see the twist of Ella being the one to prank her or at least see the castlecoming scene before being shunted back to the future
My thoughts exactly. The movie had (at least in my opinion) a pretty good first and second act, but then it just jumped to the ending. When it got to the scene with them trying to break into the office to steal the book, I paused the movie to use the bathroom, but was so confused to see that there was literally less than 10 mins left.
Pretty sure they had to stretch the plot over two movies because they were suddenly told there needs to be a sequel or sumn. At least that's what I heard. Plus it really feels like a whole lotta setup that never got resolved.
@@sof_t_ I have heard this too regarding a sequel. My theory is they’re going to have to go back in time again because they ended up changing the timeline too much. But I still wish they would’ve had a slightly better ending to this first half of the story than just that line from Uma. I would’ve loved a cliffhanger ending.
I saw the time left during the cookbook scene with Bridget and was like “surely the prank isn’t uliana’s” because that didn’t seem like a tragic enough scene for Bridget to become the queen of hearts. I thought Ella was going to betray her or something but I guess not
As a person who also has PTSD, I just want to express that you are not alone. You are not wrong for taking time to work on yourself and get your mind in a good place. I'm proud of both of you doing what is best for you and your health
Isn't the number one lesson in time travel plot to NOT influence it? The red queen did a complete 180 on her personality. Wouldn't this influence the exclusion of wonderland in the first place and red probably never been born. Imagine how the mass execution done by the queen would change wonderland Oh my God, imagine how dark it would be if red would be considering sacrificing her own existence to save probably half of wonderland population. Also, those are all fairytale characters, so they could also try a plot where red tries to help her mom but everytime something else happens that causes her to snap. The "you can't change the past, but you have to fight for the present" kind of moral
tbh i think the story is gonna force them to go back to the original timeline, (in a even darker version Chloe's gonna be forced to save the world by inadvertently killing her mother but maybe thats too dark lol)
i really hope the next movie shows us what changed in wonderland now that red changed the past, like maybe she goes back for summer vacation and maybe ella says she wants to see her home too and they go back and see everything is different. then they could give us some backstory on the new updated characters in wonderland we didnt get to meet, either focusing on her friend whos the son of mad hatter or maybe the daughter of alice. if disney wanted to be really dark and creative they could maybe have it show that because of the queen of hearts becoming good, that somehow affected her friend (idk his name but ik it was mad something) from being born so she goes back in time to save herself from changing her mom so she saves her friend
I think there's always going to be an exception for Cinderella and Prince Otto Auguste Ferdinand (1971 Disney on Parade and his upcoming novel will be using Auguste of Charmant as the name)/Christopher Rupert Windimer Vladimir Carl Alexander Francois Reginald Lancelot Herman (yes, really) Gregory James Henri Thomas "Kit" Charming...and two of his names actually sound like Elliot. They're the Superman and Lois Lane of Disney...you mess with them in any way...everything else goes haywire.
Can’t believe they want me to believe that’s the Mad Hatter’s son. All the other kids are supposed to be like teenagers and then they got this grown ass man
Yes!! I thought the entire time that Cinderella was going to betray Bridget! They set it up that way. Why the heck would they not be friends after a prank was pulled on her by some other kids? They set it up to be Queen of Hearts against Cinderella at the very beginning.
Well Wonderland is a little wacky....but yeah...isn't it universally known that Cinderella does not have a mean bone in her body? Oh wait....that might upset people more than her just being physically beautiful...for in the world of Cinderella you actually do change your physical appearance by your actions....because it reflects your heart.
Bridget felt abandoned by Cinderella. They agreed to go to the dance together, only for Cinderella to go with the prince instead- not being there to protect or help her after the prank. The evil queen mocking her about the prince is another clue to why she was so upset with her. Cinderella was her only friend- and her only friend wasn't there for her in her time of need.
Honestly, I thought after they got the cookbook, they would go to the dance to make sure nothing happens to Bridget but something does happen, and it turns out the v kids weren't the ones who pranked her. The prank would have had more of an impact if it was someone she thought she could trust, like maybe Cinderella. Also, why are they called the V Kids? It made sense in the first three movies but in this one, the v kids are the parents. Does that mean it stands for villainous kids and not kids of villains?
yeah i think it stands for “villain kids” like villainous kids in this movie but also i have so many issues with that too like if we go off the assumption that the fairytales were different in this universe (like cinderella saying her and charming met at their hs dance rather than a giant castle etc) then HOW did they become villains, like i kinda get uliana wanting to be badder than her sister but the others like they have no motivation
fun fact: the actors who play adult Cinderella and Prince Charming actually played Cinderella and Prince CHarming in Disney's Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, with Whitney Houston as the Fairy Godmother, it's my favourite Cinderella adaptation along with the 2015 Cinderella live action
Also canonically in the Disney verse Zeus aged himself down to go to school with young Hercules in the TV show. He could completely be doing that right now too
17:45 After Uliana falls into the fountain, we see Fay and Charming with a girl with multi-colored hair. Her name in the credits is Meadow, but when the cast was initially revealed, she was called Zellie, and was intended to be the teenage Rapunzel. At some point, this idea was dropped, and she was changed, but Rapunzel was originally going to be in the movie.
i liked the fact that they used the same actors for cinderella and the prince as in the rodgers and hammerstein's movie :D the carlos bit made me a little emotional 🥲
as someone who escaped a very simular relationship red has with her mum originally, I really love red and how realistic her struggle is because i understand that struggle having recently escaped that situation myself
2:42 Uma acknowledging Carlos in a sorta sad way as if Carlos passed away in series cannon is pretty nice touch & a nice call back from the last original movie which in 2019 Carlos's actor passed away 2018
Oh, dear. I'm very sorry this happened to your partner. I hope everything will go well when you two are moving and that she'll eventually find a new job and slowly start to heal over time ❤
THANK YOU! It wasn’t that bad. In fact for a Disney channel movie the effects and production was really good. I was so flooded with nostalgia seeing Brandy and Pablo return as Prince Henri/charming and Cinderella
I didn't even realize there was a new Decendents movie out until this video, but when I saw Brandy The Best Cinderella and Paolo The Sweetest Prince Charming, it actually brought tears to my eyes! The number of times I watched that movie growing up 😭💗
No if Paolo is present we all know the name is Christopher Rupert Windimir Vladimir Carl Alexander Francois Reginald Lancelot Herman (yes really) Gregory James! A variant on this name as Kit in the Lily James update is also used. Sidenote: 1971 and the upcoming Disney Prince novel will be using Otto Auguste Ferdinand of Charmant. Disney Princess and KH uses Charming and a tv spot once used Henri while OUAT used Thomas and if you combine those last two....you get Elliot...because Ella and Elliot are like a matching pair of shoes when you go through the looking glass and that's the next film!
I thought it was good but around the ending half of it, it felt very unfinished. We also never got to see the ball the movie was hyping us up about or potentially what really went down because the villians obviously couldn't have used the book. Also the hatter's son made a big deal about what dangers changing time could do, such as Red losing her mom ,and that seemed like that warning was supposed to foreshadow a conflict that would happen later on but so far it never did. But then again, maybe it being unfinished and leaving these things a mystery was on purpose for the next movie. Also something about Red changing her mom by taking her trauma away feels wrong.
I agree! The whole movie all red wants is for her mom to love and accept her as she is but actively seeks to change her mom entirely. I’m interested to see what the consequences will be for the characters in the next movie.
It was going well, I thought having Wonderland locked up like the Isle was cool, Though the original heroes and villains all going to school together shows that Disney is trying to separate Descendants from the original stories and I thought the ending was going to be different as well, like Cinderella didn't get to go because she got grounded (also, Ella and charming falling in love at a different dance and not the ball, proves my point I made about the separation), I did get Red because I like that song and Uma, the rest were not as good
I thought they were going to the present and things would be the same and then they would find out that Cinderella was the one who did the prank since... wouldn't the VK been frozen, caught, and put in detention when they open the book?
and now in this new timeline, who would be the forth voice to come to descendance 1 (since hades and malificent are frozen and that way mal couldn’t be born)
the thing about both being a queen and empress is not smth that special. there are many kings that were also dukes and a lot of emperors (i know mainly about the HRE) that were also kings, so yeah
Most famous example is probably Queen Victoria who was also empress of India (mostly so she wouldn't be outranked by her own grandson, Wilhelm II, who was emporer of Germany and king of Prussia)
Just another continuity error I noticed at the beginning of d1 Ben said his father converted the building into a high school yet in the movie is was already a high school ??? Its so small and doesn’t matter but we love those small continuity errors😂😂
As a fan of "Alice in Wonderland", I'll be curious to know your opinion about the prequel novel book "Beyond the Isle of the Lost" written by Mélissa de la Cruz which explores more in deep Red's relationship with her mother and how Wonderland is under the tyran of the Queen of Hearts.
I liked it! It had an interesting storyline, I usually love time travel movies, and good songs. My only complaint is that the ending felt rushed. I wanted to see the ball, and I wanted there to be a different solution. Like, there was a book but it was enchanted right, so in the original event, wouldn't the same thing have happened, with the villains getting frozen, caught by the principal and never pranking Bridget? So I thought that that wasn't what actually happened that turned Bridget bad, and that we were going to get a twist of some sort. Also, why if Bridget wasn't turned bad, did she still dye her hair from pink to red? I was expecting "nice!" Bridget present time to be pink themed.
Maybe she still switched to red bc she felt it was more mature than pink. I would assume she would still love pink but decide to take on a more grown up look to be queen. I’m not sure, that’s just a thought. Hopefully it is addressed in the next movie.
real i cannot imagine how terrifying it would be to have to experience that situation i hope they get the support they need 💗💗 also thats not a nitpick at all, the lack of secondary colours is horrendous and makes it hard to look at the characters 😭😭 like you look at the og designs and although most of their hair is similar to their primary one, they have other colours to balance it out
I had a lot of fun with this movie, and bought the soundtrack before it dropped based on "Red" and "What's My Name" alone. Not disappointed in that decision. The sugary songs are actually some of my favorites, both "Life is Sweeter" and "Shuffle of Love", which could only be heard in Bridget's headphones in the movie itself. I'm as old as Brandy, and life can get too depressing and overwhelming for me. And the fun, fluffy, bubblegum poppy songs make me feel less overwhelmed. Teen Charming looked like half the guys in my high school back in the '90s with his floppy hair. If they're going for a "we're in the past" vibe, that definitely makes it work. My issue with Red and Chloe going back in time is that they weren't subtle at all - same names - they're pulling a "we named our daughters after our daughters" a la Doctor Who with this. I want a fanfic of Dizzy being there to help Uma, getting brought back in time with them, and using her actual VK skills to help them with disguises, fake names, etc.
I still think Cinderella was the one to pull the prank. If the book was boobytrapped, then the villains were never the ones who pulled the prank in the first place. And if I'm remembering right, Cinderella got grounded so she couldn't go to the ball. So I'm thinking that Chloe getting Cinderella grounded stopped her from possibly pulling the prank.
I think many people have an issue with the horrible continuity and lore/canon issues, both regarding all the Disney stories in general and the descendants franchise. I personally love the actors, the songs, and even the general plot. But the fact that it doesnt make any sense that all these people went to school together (both time and story wise), and that the descendants lore also makes 0 sense anymore makes me enjoy it a lot less. I personally was also disappointed in the ending, the fact that we didnt know what ACTUALLY happened, why Bridget hates Ella so much, and that so many other things just felt rushed and unexplained....
It’s a Disney channel film not some big blockbuster I’m so sick and tired of everyone saying the ending is rushed and by the way all 3 other movies ended the exact same way so know what you are talking about before saying this
@@Jess-y7c No?? They didn’t all end the same. The first three movies weren’t masterpieces but unlike this one they did actually tell a full story and have actual climaxes. The first movie was building up to Ben’s coronation and that was the climax, the second movie was building up to the Cotillion and that was the climax, the third movie was building up to opening up the isle and that was the climax. This movie was building up to castlecoming and we never got to see it. Btw, the “it’s a kids movie, stop saying it’s bad it’s supposed to be bad” excuse has been debunked over and over by now.
@@nixxdra You said exactly what I wanted to say haha, I also fully agree that the "well it's a kids movie" is such a bad excuse for bad entertainment.... Like just bcs it's for kids doesnt mean it should be bad, especially since a huge selling point of disney is that it is also fun for teens/families
There is the fact that if the villain kids originals got the book they would have been frozen so how was the prank actually done? How did the queen end up bad if the prank was not possible in the original timeline and what actually happened that turned her good? I feel that closing the loophole which is actually going to reveal consequences to what they did due to lack of info will be part 2
The thing is I had one gripe with the plot, which is that if they did go back to the past then went into the future, wouldn’t Red and Cinderella recognised that it was their kids that they met in high school? Like if I remember some girl in high school and then same girl happens to be my kid in the future? It was a plot hole that really annoys me.
14:13 i am like 90% sure the sequel will be called "the fall of blue" and the plot will be about Ella being the one who did the prank The setup for the next movie is pretty clear imo. Like, they obviously set up that the villains couldn't've done the prank by themselves or they would be frozen, the only other thing they changed was Ella getting grounded because of them so that obviously meant SOMETHING, plus the whole thing at the beginning with Maddox going on about time travel being dangerous because changing the past can have disastrous consequences... Yeah, that feels like quite a bit of setup for a sequel.
I think we didn't needed this movie tbh. But Disney got their hands on a too good of a concept. The thing that iks me the most is that they had so much to work with. The whole concept of wonderland and even time travel, and still they made a very generic, mediocre movie with characters that could easily be replaced with any other characters. There are plot wholes like: How did the villains prank Bridged in the first place if the book was a trap, and what is with Chad from the old movies? Plus, I'm quite upset that they created Uliana instead of just using her sister from the second Little Mermaid movie. The actress and all can stay the same, but why go with Uliana if you just can have Morgana instead.
I can understand why they chose to make a new sister for Uliana’s character. Who’s realistically going to recognize a villain from an obscure direct to dvd sequel? I don’t see why she needed to be Ursula’s sister though. Why not just make the villain a teenage Ursula?
@nixxdra If they included Morgana, for me, it would have been a nice 'easter egg' for people who don't know her it would be the same like with Uiana, but for those who know her it would be nice. But yeah, why not Ursula is also something I was thinking.
@@imamayo5405 Now that you mention it that makes sense. If people haven’t heard of Morgana then it would be the same to them as having a completely new character with no prior reputation. But it makes the most sense to have Ursula since she’s very recognizable and already has a reputation.
You know what's dark? I think in the first descendants, Mal said the villains once killed were brought back to life to live trapped on the isle of the lost, right? So, in this movie, we see that the villains, as teens and they clearly aren't aware of what will happen in the future and idk...it seems dark 😂
My sister pointed out that the villain kids would have been caught by the booby trap whether they were there or not, so she's not too sure how they did anything that helped.
The way uma says do it in honor of carlos really hurts hard and close to home as i myself am still grieving the unexpected passing of my grandpa on June 8th a couple days before father's day rip Cameron and Rip Grandpa🪽🪽🥹🥹🥹
I'm just going to say one of the few gripes I had about the plot is the boobytrap in the book. Because if the villains got the book then to make the cupcake and opened it like planned, they still would have been frozen even in the past. The only way it wouldn't have is if they convinced either Cinderella or Bridget to do it themselves which based on what we know, sounds like it didn't happen because they would still need to make the cupcake and if you have the book, you can read what the cupcake does and if it was Bridget or Cinderella, they wouldn't have baked that cupcake. I just feel that part is a major plothole
Likely was one of the quick rewrites they ended up doing to split the plot into two movies, but from what I've heard its meant to be that Ella alongside Morgie were the ones to actually pull off the prank (Morgie to prove himself to Uliana and Ella to get with Charming, think of it like a Fairy Godfather kinda thing)
I was thinking in the original timeline that all for villains weren't stupidly looking over each other's shoulder for the book. Maybe only one of them tried to read the book first they got Perma Frozen and then the others could just look at the book after. It's the act of opening the book that instigates the booby trap correct?
I didn't see that as a plot hole at all, my guess is that they would have been more careful without competition. I think they opened the book right then and there just because they were trying to "own" the protagonists. I doubt Merlin would've put a super strong curse on a prank cookbook, so they probably had a way to dispel it (Maleficent, maybe?)
I thought this immediately too! Another glaring issue I saw was why on Earth was the Red Queen even allowed into Auradon? All the other villain kids had their parents left on the Isle so who wasn't the Red Queen left in Wonderland? I kept expecting the guards to stop her and then they. Didn't.
I have seen someone react to this movie and before that someone who reviewed it, all I can say is, the fact that Ursulas sister is not named Morgana is an interesting change but the name they chose for her is so much worse
Uleana makes no sense to me,plus if they really wanted Ursula to have a sister she already does. Morgana from the little mermaid 2. Also how did the villains pull the prank in the past if the book had some sort of magic trap on it the entire time? Seems like they would have been stopped in the past aswell or somebody else who wasn't with them would have taken the book and done the prank on the Queen Of Hearts, after the trap was activated on Uleana and the others. Other then those 2 things (Since I haven't herd any of the music yet) it seems pretty good.
Hi @negativelegend. I'd like to put my thoughts, and I'd love to converse with y'all So, as I kept watching Descendants, I realized that they can never escape the "Ever After High" allegations. Red was giving Raven Queen vibes and the queen of hearts was giving the Evil Queen - especially in Dragon games. Chloe Charming really took inspiration from Darling Charming. The colors in Descendants were a lot more dull than the previous trilogy The story didn't make sense, Uliana shouldn't be Ursula's sister as she already has one which is Morgana. The perfect revenge was a book which couldn't be open by bad guys, which actually means that the canon event to make Bridget bad wasn't even going to work unless it was Cinderella who was pulling the prank. Also also, why were the heros and villains attending a school??????? In EAH, we all know that their life is in a cycle, to relive the lives of their fairytale families, but this didn't make sense. And their villain life in school was just plain bullying, nothing to make it seem like they're evil evil. Why was Bridget the only one from wonderland attending Merlin Academy? What about the Mad Hatter? He could have been an amazing prankster. Chad Charming - we all know what this means. How did The Queen of hearts turn from pink or red and have a child who was completely with red hair? I thought there'll be little streaks of pink. Also also I'd love for you to just sweetly give some, dare I say "comparisons" between EAH and descendants, fashion wise, character wise, story wise. I'd love that. Have a great day everyone
i only have one argument in that the descendants movies pretty much ignore any and all direct to video/dvd sequels of all the stories involved along with any extra material like the tv shows. So characters like that Morgana wouldn't exactly exist. I feel its better to view the descendants movies as a new universe where the original stories all played out the same but different.
One thing I don’t understand is if the book would freeze you if you have bad intentions or whatever that was, how didnthey in the original timeline were they able to use it to prank the queen of hearts ?
They kinda implied that Cinderella might of had a bigger part in the prank but didn't do anything with that either. They also said Bridget had a lot of hardships before the prank but never said if there was anything else other than the bullying.
I only watched the movie once when it first came out, so my memory of it isn’t great, but is it just me or is there a major plothole in the “climax” scene with the cookbook. Uliana and her crew got their hands on the cookbook and it petrified them because it’s a trap meant for people who want to use the book for evil purposes. But wouldn’t that have happened in the original timeline anyway? How did Uliana use the book for the prank in the first place without getting petrified if her intentions were the same? Also, Uliana and her crew were such flat villains. I know there was already so much happening in the movie that they couldn’t even end it properly, but we didn’t see enough of them. There was like one line about how Uliana only feels like she has to be so mean because she’s living in Ursula’s shadow, which could have given her character some dimension, but nothing came of it.
Another thing is that Uliana is supposed to be this ultra-intimidating queen of the villains who has young Hades and Maleficent, the mistress of evil, following her, but in reality that image of her is completely false. She and her clique hype her up so much, and then the good guys aren’t intimidated by her in the slightest. They literally just ignore her and keep singing. The difference between how Uliana sees herself and how everyone else sees her is so jarring it gives me whiplash. Wow I did not think I was so opinionated about this girl.
Hey I think you would really like Twisted Wonderland it’s an official anime Disney game made by Aniplex and Yana Taboso the creator of Black Butler where the characters are based off the original Disney villains. They have Alice in wonderland inspired characters too and it’s kinda like Ever after high. Also I hope the situation improves❤
Oh you went IN on it. Saved me chasing a white rabbit down the transdimensional burrow. I think they lean too heavily on people loving the source and just make cash grabs rather than think up......anything ever. Opening up wonderland could have been fascinating and somehow......this is what we got. I wish Disney would stop hurting wonderland like this...
The one thing I missed was the big opening number about “Being evil is better than being good” and the big closing dance about “Being yourself is the best.”
One thing about the movie that makes me upset is that if Unalla (or whatever her name was) and the rest of her crew really were the ones that pranked Bridget than the movie should have never happened in the first place because Merlin cast a spell on the book so it wouldn't fall into the wrong hands so in the OG timeline they still would have been frozen in place which means they would have never been able to prank Bridget in the first place (also is it just me or does Russia's sister's makeup kinda look like JoJo Side's makeup from her music video Karma)
I have been waiting for your video since the miovie came out. Im so sorry that your girlfriend had to go through such terrible things. All the best with the move.
I do think the ending felt rushed, I really wish there was more, but they DID set up the sequel. Before the typical 'you didn't think that was the end of the story' bit, Uma repeats the warning about time travel and it's consequences. Immediately after which she goes into the 'to be continued' speech. The point here being that even though this one issue was fixed, we haven't seen all the consequences yet. This is generally how every Descendants movie ends, with the question of how the final act will change things. How will the VKs choosing good change things, how will Uma escaping change things, how will the barrier coming down change things, and now how will the time travel change things.
The Getting Dirty song was surprisngly catchy. Also, I refuse to believe Chad is related to Cinderella and Charming. He has to be adopted. DX I'm sorry to hear what happened to your partner. That must've been so traumatic.
9:46 OMG I WASNT THE ONLY ONE WHO COULDN’T STOP STARING AT THE GIRL IN BLUE WHEN THE VILLAINS CAME OUT- that’s half a lie because hook and morgie… 😍 but that girl ate. (I had to rewatch the villain part several times. I freakin loved that song 😔)
I just wanted to quickly say I'm so sorry about what your partner went through I recently went through that situation and I'm a MINOR (it was my school's graduation) I hope something is done about all these incidents I'm so sorry that happened to you You're not alone and take all the time you need to heal from that Wishing y'all the best! ❤
Makes you wonder…. How did preventing the prank change the “Descendants series?” My guess was in the OG time line, when Bridget became Queen….Ulimia(?) literally lot her head. Why? Ursula was mention 1st and 2nd film while in the last 2 LA had Uma front and center. Not her sister…. And since now Bridget got to go to prom, Ulima(?) got permanent detention…. How will this shake things up?
I actually didn't know there was a new Descendants movie out, so I'm going to have to go watch it. The tribute to Carlos at the start is touching and I am glad they had that.
my personal opinion was that the overall movie oke was but the end just feels rushed. i would have loved to see cindy betray bridget and the party itself. and i would have loved to see some sort of plot twist that the queen of hearts wasnt turned good or something. im curious for the next movie(s).
So fun theory that just came to mind for me: What if the real change wasn’t the villains getting frozen? It was Ella asking Bridget to come to castlecoming with her. Bridget was mad because she was “busy with her prince” which implies Ella ignored her and Bridget might have felt abandoned & alone in the prank’s aftermath. Maybe the prank does still happen (somehow), but Ella wasn’t preoccupied with Charming and was there for Bridget.
I did move here to colorado 3 years ago because my friends here have been saying they love being here. and i do love it, i do miss my people from ny though
14:15 I think the point is, they went back in time, that itself and altering the fabric of time should hold consequence is what I was getting, the title implies it’s the beginning “Descendants : The RISE of Red” meaning there could possibly be at some point a fall. Idk my opinions are stupid. Read if you want to!
Part 2 is the consequences Maddox told Red would happen for messing with the timeline he did say the Time Machine was dangerous. But yeah it can stand on its own too.
Negative Legend, since your whole channel is about reviewing kids’ media, and you like Alice in Wonderland so much, may I suggest possibly checking out Alice’s Wonderland Bakery? It’s a Disney Jr show about the great-grandchildren of the 1951 Wonderland characters, and the Alice’s great-granddaughter (who is also named Alice) has a bakery. There is also a Looking Glass world introduced in season 2, which is decently different from the one in the books.
So This Is Love is my favorite song from the cartoon and Brandys is definitely my favorite Cinderella movie (duh! Little brown girl sees black Cinderella and Filipino Charming?! Of course!) and it wasn't in that version obviously so like getting to hear these two do at least a little bit of it was an absolute dream come true~ I do wish it didn't feel so rushed tho Also don't seniors in high school turn 18?
I would just like to mention, I believe the Mad Hatter's son mentioned his Time Machine worked by sending the user when their heart desires or something. Both wanted to stop the execution, but Red probably also subconsciously wanted a better mom too. So, back to this time they went.
Honestly the parts I disliked were just the fact that the ending felt so rushed, and that we didn’t get to see the dance or the prank. I was expecting that red and chloe wouldn’t be able to stop the VKs, so they’d decide to go to the dance and try to stop the prank just before it happens. And then when I realized that wasn’t happening, I was expecting that they’d return to the present, only to find out that nothing changed. Confusion ensues, etc etc, idk where the plot would go after that. Overall, maybe a 6-7 out of 10, it just didn’t hit as hard as the previous descendants movies did. Of course, that could be me being blinded by childhood nostalgia. Also, the VKs were frozen when they tried to open the book…wouldn’t that have still happened in the original timeline??? They had to have gotten the book and read the spell somehow, and it makes no sense that the VKs being frozen helped in the future in that case. I hoping some of the plot holes will be resolved with a little more context in the next movie 🤞
I personally think that it would make more sense to have Cinderella and Bridget in university and have the other royals closer to their canon ages. But then again, where I live you have primary school, secondary school, college and university so it might be different for others.
I kinda like the movie, my problem is the ending, with or without Red and Chloe, Uliana opens the book and freezes…SO HOW DID THE PRANK HAPPENED IN THE OG TIMELINE??? I thought they were going to manipulate Ella or smth like that to be the one to execute the plan
11:22 oh there may not be gays but my energy can be fueled. The gay ships in this movie fuel me. Hook x Morgie, Red x Chloe, not really an Ella x Bridget shipper but some people ship that, uhm… that’s really all I have tho so uhm… 🧍
my sister put it into words perfectly, the way this movie ended, without a castlecoming scene, or reveal that ella was the one who did the prank, it's like if in coco, Miguel went to the underworld, and the movie played out exactly the same except he finds ernesto de la Cruz, it's actually his great great grandfather, and he gives him his blessing, and that's it, hector is not relevant to the plot at all, no lessons learned whatsoever. it's what it felt like, being robbed of a final act that just brings the whole thing together
tbh i think we might see Castlecoming in the sequel because it's probably going to be involved with the whole idea that time travel has consequences (maybe something bad happens at castlecoming because the prank never happened that Chloe and red need to fix)

Knowing Disney the two ladies would probably be fighting for the man instead of the better "bitter saphic" approach
I would’ve loved a cliffhanger ending.
it wouldn't make sense if she was the one who pranked her tho, would it?
I saw the time left during the cookbook scene with Bridget and was like “surely the prank isn’t uliana’s” because that didn’t seem like a tragic enough scene for Bridget to become the queen of hearts. I thought Ella was going to betray her or something but I guess not

Isn't the number one lesson in time travel plot to NOT influence it?
The red queen did a complete 180 on her personality. Wouldn't this influence the exclusion of wonderland in the first place and red probably never been born. Imagine how the mass execution done by the queen would change wonderland
Oh my God, imagine how dark it would be if red would be considering sacrificing her own existence to save probably half of wonderland population. Also, those are all fairytale characters, so they could also try a plot where red tries to help her mom but everytime something else happens that causes her to snap. The "you can't change the past, but you have to fight for the present" kind of moral
tbh i think the story is gonna force them to go back to the original timeline, (in a even darker version Chloe's gonna be forced to save the world by inadvertently killing her mother but maybe thats too dark lol)
i really hope the next movie shows us what changed in wonderland now that red changed the past, like maybe she goes back for summer vacation and maybe ella says she wants to see her home too and they go back and see everything is different. then they could give us some backstory on the new updated characters in wonderland we didnt get to meet, either focusing on her friend whos the son of mad hatter or maybe the daughter of alice. if disney wanted to be really dark and creative they could maybe have it show that because of the queen of hearts becoming good, that somehow affected her friend (idk his name but ik it was mad something) from being born so she goes back in time to save herself from changing her mom so she saves her friend
it would be so funny for them to do a attack on titan moment where red convinces her mom in the past to be evil instead 😭

Bridget felt abandoned by Cinderella. They agreed to go to the dance together, only for Cinderella to go with the prince instead- not being there to protect or help her after the prank. The evil queen mocking her about the prince is another clue to why she was so upset with her.
Cinderella was her only friend- and her only friend wasn't there for her in her time of need.
@@Kaeros77 True. The way that it was set up though hinted at something far worse than that though. At least that's how it felt to me and others.

It was going well, I thought having Wonderland locked up like the Isle was cool, Though the original heroes and villains all going to school together shows that Disney is trying to separate Descendants from the original stories and I thought the ending was going to be different as well, like Cinderella didn't get to go because she got grounded (also, Ella and charming falling in love at a different dance and not the ball, proves my point I made about the separation), I did get Red because I like that song and Uma, the rest were not as good
I've just assumed that all the stories we know are exaggerated high-school drama.
I thought they were going to the present and things would be the same and then they would find out that Cinderella was the one who did the prank since... wouldn't the VK been frozen, caught, and put in detention when they open the book?

the thing about both being a queen and empress is not smth that special. there are many kings that were also dukes and a lot of emperors (i know mainly about the HRE) that were also kings, so yeah
Most famous example is probably Queen Victoria who was also empress of India (mostly so she wouldn't be outranked by her own grandson, Wilhelm II, who was emporer of Germany and king of Prussia)
Probably would have made better sense for her to be Empress of Wonderland though, I think 😂

Aw, damn. I had forgotten about Cameron Boyce. That's a really sweet scene.

That fanfic sounds perfect

No?? They didn’t all end the same. The first three movies weren’t masterpieces but unlike this one they did actually tell a full story and have actual climaxes. The first movie was building up to Ben’s coronation and that was the climax, the second movie was building up to the Cotillion and that was the climax, the third movie was building up to opening up the isle and that was the climax. This movie was building up to castlecoming and we never got to see it. Btw, the “it’s a kids movie, stop saying it’s bad it’s supposed to be bad” excuse has been debunked over and over by now.

There is the fact that if the villain kids originals got the book they would have been frozen so how was the prank actually done? 11:54 the himegoto reference had me in stitches
10:17 i remember studying Greek in school so perfect saying they have no age
The thing is I had one gripe with the plot, which is that if they did go back to the past then went into the future, wouldn’t Red and Cinderella recognised that it was their kids that they met in high school? Like if I remember some girl in high school and then same girl happens to be my kid in the future? It was a plot hole that really annoys me.
ikr especially with their vibrant costume design, you'd think they'd recognize the two
14:13 i am like 90% sure the sequel will be called "the fall of blue" and the plot will be about Ella being the one who did the prank
The setup for the next movie is pretty clear imo.
@sof_t_NOPE WRONG TITLE IT’S GONNA BE CALLED THE LOOKING GLASS
@@imamayo5405
Now that you mention it that makes sense.

I definitely agree, that’s was definitely a problem I had with the movie
I'd like to put my thoughts, and I'd love to converse with y'all
So, as I kept watching Descendants, I realized that they can never escape the "Ever After High" allegations.
Red was giving Raven Queen vibes and the queen of hearts was giving the Evil Queen - especially in Dragon games.
Chloe Charming really took inspiration from Darling Charming.
The colors in Descendants were a lot more dull than the previous trilogy
The story didn't make sense, Uliana shouldn't be Ursula's sister as she already has one which is Morgana.
@@KaneMarcks I do understand. A different universe with similar stories and different endings then.
Think you'll ever talk about the often-overlooked videogame prequel to this series "The first descendant"?
One thing I don’t understand is if the book would freeze you if you have bad intentions or whatever that was, how didnthey in the original timeline were they able to use it to prank the queen of hearts ?
I actually LOVE that brandy plays the Cinderella mom as she was Cinderella in Roger and Hammerstein's version 🥰
They kinda implied that Cinderella might of had a bigger part in the prank but didn't do anything with that either. They also said Bridget had a lot of hardships before the prank but never said if there was anything else other than the bullying.
ive waited for this video so long omfg
thank you negative legend: we say in unison
I’m glad your partner is ok, and that you are able to take care of her. Hope you guys find a better place and she finds a better job.
Okay, you and my dad have both mentioned Dr. Who. Now I kind of want Dr. Who to appear in the fifth movie
5:40 It’s Wonderland. Just roll with it
I was so concerned with what they'd do with Carlos if anything. That tribute was a lovely touch.
*Ursala's (not Russia's)
*Siwa (not Sides)
I have been waiting for your video since the miovie came out. Im so sorry that your girlfriend had to go through such terrible things. All the best with the move.
I’m a Native to Colorado. But also Rip Cameron. I can’t Say that enough. I’m Glad that Brandy and Paolo are Back together after 27 years after 1997.
One thing I never understood, if the book froze those who were too evil. Then how’d they get the book to prank Bridget in the past? 💀
9:46 OMG I WASNT THE ONLY ONE WHO COULDN’T STOP STARING AT THE GIRL IN BLUE WHEN THE VILLAINS CAME OUT- that’s half a lie because hook and morgie…
😍
but that girl ate.
(I had to rewatch the villain part several times. I freakin loved that song 😔)
I just wanted to quickly say I'm so sorry about what your partner went through
I recently went through that situation and I'm a MINOR (it was my school's graduation)
I hope something is done about all these incidents
I'm so sorry that happened to you
You're not alone and take all the time you need to heal from that
Wishing y'all the best!
When are you going to talk about "Miraculous World: Tales of Shadybug and Claw Noir"?
Yes 😍😍😍
I loved the special they should talk about it and watch it.
7:22 and i thought cinderella was savage cinderella watch out theres anew savage ruler in the kingdom
Dziękujemy.
Thanks!
IS THAT BRANDY AS CINDERELLA HOLY SHIIIIIT SHES MY FAVORITE CINDERELLA!!!! I've never seen a descendants movie but holy SHIT is that a temptation!
14:15
I think the point is, they went back in time, that itself and altering the fabric of time should hold consequence is what I was getting, the title implies it’s the beginning “Descendants : The RISE of Red” meaning there could possibly be at some point a fall. Idk my opinions are stupid. Read if you want to!
Part 2 is the consequences Maddox told Red would happen for messing with the timeline he did say the Time Machine was dangerous. But yeah it can stand on its own too.
5:15 cinderella more like cinder savage
My first video of yours because it was randomly recommended… you’re in Colorado?! I love finding creators in Colorado! I’m in Fort Collins 🤗
THE KINGDOM HEARTS NECKLACE!!!! PLEASE TALK ABOUT KINGDOM HEARTS AGAIN PLS!!!!❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
17:42 rapunzel is actually mentioned in the animated series!
4:52 I’ve never been less surprised to discover that someone likes Doctor who. This checks out fully.
Of course!) and it wasn't in that version obviously so like getting to hear these two do at least a little bit of it was an absolute dream come true~ I do wish it didn't feel so rushed tho
Also don't seniors in high school turn 18?
The tribute just hits the feels soo good it's loving and caring who's cutting onions here!!!! 😢😢😢 2:43
I personally think that it would make more sense to have Cinderella and Bridget in university and have the other royals closer to their canon ages.
But then again, where I live you have primary school, secondary school, college and university so it might be different for others.
Dang! Sad to hear you're moving from Colorado. I kind of want to as well, but Colorado seems like the best place for my transition right now.
i don't know if it's just me but young maleficent looks more like Kate McKinnon than Kristin Chenoweth
I cracked up sooooooooo hard when you did the bit about the guy and hair flip
11:22 oh there may not be gays but my energy can be fueled. The gay ships in this movie fuel me. Hook x Morgie, Red x Chloe, not really an Ella x Bridget shipper but some people ship that, uhm… that’s really all I have tho so uhm… 🧍
