      In film school, in a "business of film" class, we had to discuss online platforms and argue which was better for filmmakers. Since I was arguing _against_ UA-cam (vs. Vimeo), I looked up the most viewed videos to prove a point about original content getting lost in a sea of other stuff. It was something like 330 videos of kids TV shows and (pop) music videos before you got to literally ANYTHING else.

    🇧🇷4:00 The instrument is not a guitar. Here in Brazil the "complete" name, to not to be confused with the classical viola, is "viola caipira", from the family of "violas brasileiras". It has its origins in the "violas portuguesas". It is not a guitar because it has different body and scale dimensions, both smaller than the guitar and has 10 strings forming 5 orders, the first two orders being tuned in unison and the others with an octave difference. The standard tuning is also different. This ends up significantly differentiating the playing technique in relation to the guitar. It is an instrument widely used in Brazilian caipira music ('música caipira brasileira).

    • @wilsonrfernandes
      @wilsonrfernandes 2 роки тому +18

      @@tudoqueanima8374 , basicamente falaram apenas sobre o nome do instrumento mesmo, que está no nome artístico dela, que pra eles é estranho, pois eles estavam fazendo buscas pelo nome Viola, que se refere universalmente ao instrumento de arco parecido com o violino, porém um pouco maior e com sonoridade um pouco mais grave. Eles não conhecem o uso do termo viola para outros intrumentos típicos de origem portuguesa e brasileira - praticamente desconhecidos na maior parte do mundo - que ocorre no português, ficando confusos sobre o "Viola" do nome dela pois, pra eles, ela toca um tipo de "violão" (guitar).

    Hearing/seeing/reading about the piccolo always reminds me of the time we were in Poland on an international folk-dance festival, and there was an Italian group, too. And in the hotel where the actual performing groups were accomodated, we woke up every morning at about 5-6AM to the Italians singing and playing their music, which, incidentally, included the piccolo. We were pissed, and I think it's needless to say we barely got any sleep, considering we stayed up until 1-2AM every night, drinking with the others. But the Italians were great to drink with.

    The video from Bruna Viola is from Brazil, in this country there is another instrument called "Viola Caipira" that is often most referred as only "Viola". This is the instrument that she was playing, it's similar to a guitar in appearance but with some differences. In Brazil the Viola is referred as "Viola Clássica" that means "Classical Viola" as it's less known by the people in Brazil.

      Also from that same era are the instruments viol de gambling and vihuela or vihuela de mano. Both are six stringed instruments. The bass viola is tuned the same way as a vihuela and the lute.
      Gamba means leg in Italian, so the viole da gamba is played sitting held in your legs similar to a cello. The vihuela is more like a guitar and is held by your hands.
      All of these instruments went by many names and influenced the development of each other.

    The thing about the “pop-country” viola music is that “viola” in Portuguese is a very popular traditional “country-music/sertanejo” instrument similar to the guitar (but smaller and with 12 strings).
    In Portuguese, we call the classical viola “Viola de Arco” or “Bow viola”.

    I went to the conservatory with Bruna Viola lol I was studying piano and she was studying "viola guitar" (yeah in brazil there's a type of guitar we call viola) and singing, we are from the same small town in the middle of Brazil called Cuiabá. In Brazil viola is both the viola from classical music and a type of guitar used in brazilian country music (called "sertanejo music"). her artistic name comes from that second instrument which she plays in that song ("Viola" isnt her actual name/surname and almost no girls get named 'Viola' in brazil unlike some other countries like the US);
    (Btw guitar in brazil is "violão" which literally means "big viola" lol)

    The like button is supposed to light up when a UA-camr says something about “smashing the like button”, but it lit up when Eddie said “I like that” to one of the videos 😂

    So sad that the euphonium never gets represented. I know were just "mini tubas" but still, once in a while it would be nice to see one in any music channel I know of.

    The "piccolo coro dell'Antoniano" is basically the younger division of the Antoniano choir (which still consists of children but older than the one in the video). It's EXTREMELY famous in Italy, people audition to get in from all over the country, i auditioned myself when i was in kindergaten 😊

      The video they showed here is a music video from the children' song festival Zecchino d'Oro, in which the Piccolo Coro (that we didn't see in this bit of video) accompanies soloists from all over the country /the world. So the girl in the video is not part of this (certainly for their age of approx. 4-12) amazingly good children's choir.

    I can't believe twoset feature a colombian percussion group. I have see them live thousands of times in the country protests, heer in bogota the capital.
