  • How Much Does an Oil and Filter Change Cost on a FIAT DUCATO? At a MAIN DEALER
In this video we take our Fiat Ducato Motorhome to Fiat Professional (Motus Derby) for an oil & filter change and are shocked by the total cost. Also, other key servicing requirements you may be unaware of.

Hi having worked in Fiat dealership we were servicing Ducato's 244 and 250 models with high kms and never once changed a water pump and never had an issue.

Fiat have said they often don’t change the water pump on Motorhomes as they typically do less mileage. Thanks for the info.

I've taken a car to an independent for all my services, and then had no issues when I took it to the main dealer for warranty work.
Labour charges seemed very steep for what should have been at most a 45 minute job!

I was amazed at the price. Disgusting for what, as you say, would be a 45 minute procedure. Thanks for watching.

I always do my own using oversized Bosh filters and a dedicated diesel engine oil like Valvoline Profleet full synthetic oil - it's so much cheaper and I do it every spring regardless of miles - fuel and air filters every other year - coolant every 4 years

Good logic. Oil is the lifeblood of an engine.

Any major tips? Mine just clocked 50,000kms and the cheapest service I could find is $900, $1800 at a fiat professional mechanic. Australian $

We just had a service on our Opel Movano. We were happy we did as the breaks were about to be done

Good service is definitely worth it but the cost for the oil change was disproportionate. Thank you for watching.

Oil and filter change on my 2018 crafter at a recommended independent garage was around £90. I am expecting around £400 for the cambelt next year. It certainly adds up, but Ay up you can't take it with you :-)

I would have been fine with £90 or even £120 but £240. You are right though Alan, you can’t take it with you 😊 but I would like to leave something for the kids.

You could probably do an oil change at home in around an hour, so they must be charging a fair whack for labour! I'm kind of lucky in that our campervan is a 13 year old primastar, so the oil change this year cost me the price of oil and filter set which I think was about £60 and took no time at all to do myself. I do cringe when I take my car to a dealer for servicing though. So expensive.

For me it was the “matter of fact” way the price was given. I agree that to do the change on the drive would cost around £60-£70. It annoys me to pay the money when you know just how little you are getting from it. We will be looking for a good independent garage for future work as I am unwilling to pay over £900 for a cambelt and water pump. Thanks for watching and your comments.

As a Yorkshireman i agree with you , "how much !" , i have an older Ducato and paid £600 for a timing belt and water pump to be done , so i dont think your quote was too bad ,
    i do my own oil and filter changes , oil = £30 , filter = £10 , job took 45 mins to do ,( £60 worth of labour ? ) inc 20 mins letting oil drain properly , total = £100 ,
if i had a newer van like yours i would either go to an independent or even a reputable mobile chap as its not really that technical a job

Absolutely. I am not from Yorkshire (although it is a beautiful part of the world) but the amount was unbelievable for a simple oil and filter change. Thanks for watching and your comments.

Never mind the coffee, I think you needed a stiff brandy! 😮

As usual Bostin. Both video and your bank owa kid. Main dealer labour charges are getting out of reach to a lot of people.👹

I couldn’t believe it in a Victor Meldrew kind of way. I intend to use a good recommended independent mechanic in future as I can’t afford that level each time. In the next video we are finally out and about and although the first trip will look similar to one we filmed last year we do visit more places in the future videos including Keswick and the beautiful village of Kirkby Lonsdale. Thanks for watching again. I know we say this many times but it is sincerely appreciated.
