One trick you left out that can help a lot is getting corn laws. Move market capital to Formosa, delete port, trigger corn laws, then release Formosa as a subject to get your market capital back to the mainland.
Edit: Oh, for anyone who does this, remember that free trade makes you lose the opium ban JE. Have to wait till it completes, so you probably don't want to day 1 this trick, hard to keep that guy alive for 5 years.
Another trick I learned trying this is sometimes they will have a primary demand on transferring Tibet. If you increase the autonomy of Tibet then the UK can’t take it.

For the mandates I suggest the research one, it’s so good it up research and lowers ahead research penalties.
Especially useful for Qing when you absolutely abuse the 25% tech spread and university spam

The Colonialism Mandate isn't a flat -5% infamy reduction, it's -5% per level of your colonialism institution
So it's really good if have good tech, but completely worthless if you don't have some type of colonization

i tried one time as Austria; the game goes veeeeeeeeeeeeeery Slow after 1900; at that time i dont have a good CPU, so the game crashed and my safe was broken.... good times
(in the end i was entire Europe+Asia and Most of America)
I did it as Russia when the game first came out. There was a lot of crashes and slowdowns in the late game, but naval invasions are so broken you could capitulate anybody as long as you constantly build ships

What does YoYo swaying mean?
You join one side in a diplo play and if you are powerful the other side will get scared so they will be more willing to give you something (such as becoming your subject) so then you switch to the other side
@@CarpathianKnight really? I tried doing that but instead the opposing side gets angry/negative attitude towards me if I join one side making them less likely to offer me anything.
