Eric Gales is back again. Since last chatting with John Bohlinger in 2017, the blues maestro’s rig has transitioned to include more signature Raw Dawg gear pieces-including pedals, amps, and, of course, his signature Magneto guitars. Just last year, the lefty slinger released the Grammy-nominated, Crown, which features collabs with his pal Joe Bonamassa. Gales was touring in support of that record when he rolled through Nashville.

I’ve met him twice and seen him cry on stage about how much he loves his wife. One of his shows was the last day of my honeymoon. What an inspiration
I never knew how good he was until I saw a jam with Tim Henson and Tosin Abasi and no one knew their way around a 12 bar blues. All the sudden Eric went from a Giant to a planet to me lol. Hes so good

It is probably a “crime” that not more people, outside of the usual guitar lore crowds, know about the incredible talent Eric is and has been thru his career. Thankfully more people are taking notice specially since so many more established artists want to collaborate with him.

So crazy to see this pop up today because I just saw Eric in Chattanooga last night!!! He's not only a monster player, like Jimi and SRV rolled up into one, but also one of the coolest and most humble dudes you'll ever meet. Being able to see him play an intimate show in front of just a hundred or so people was absolutely mind-blowing.
Well done Eric Gales.Why is it that whenever the great man Jimi Hendrix is mentioned SRV's name pop's up. G.T.F.O.H and leave Jimi alone. RIP Jimi Hendrix 'The one and only.

I saw Eric in Stuart Florida....great shows...i was struck by how "clean" his sound was compared to other great blues players I've seen...different styles but Eric gales clean just hits you.....

I was a roadie for (what turned out to be) Dick Dale’s final tour.
At one point I showed him a video of Eric playing his guitar the same way, lefty and upside-down.
He had to really zoom in to believe what I was telling him. I don’t think he saw many people ever play that way in all his life.
So, if Eric was ever inspired by Dick Dale then you can tell him that he got to impress Dick Dale before he left the planet. 🤙🏻
(And Dick didn’t really give a shit about other guitar players. - Glen Campbell, perhaps, but don’t quote me on that)
Two other guitarists who,play like that are John San Juan of Chicago’s Hushdrops and actor Rick Moranis.

I saw Eric at Blues fest for the first time back in 2018 and he blowed the roof off the stage! Needless to say his gig was one of the best ones that I had ever had the great fortune of being apart of!

Got to see Gales play a small, unadvertised gig at a small club on my birthday. There were maybe 100 people in the whole place. Got to meet him after the show. He's a really down to earth, humble guy. What a great birthday present!! If you get a chance to see EG play live, do it. He is truly a gifted musician and a just a darn good person on top of it.

So I have a friend that plays like Eric but a left handed flipped right not restrung it’s one of the most amazing things to see when someone can play guitar upside down better than most people play one regular

I believe that Eric Gales play his guitar the way my idol Dick Dale did right when he (Dick Dale) first met Leo Fender back in 1954. He flipped the Fender Stratocaster and play it left-handed without restringing it. Despite he plays modern music and recently gets his own signature Magneto, but I think that it will be even better if Eric is inspired by the King of Surf Guitar himself and of course, Jimi Hendrix. Wish Mr. Eric Gales all the best, from Vietnam.

Saw Eric and his wife play a concert last year in Stuart Fl. at the Lyric Theater. Was incredible. What a guitar player and he’s very open about his life and trials and successes. Great guy. Very underrated.
He’s one of the greatest guitarists to ever live. I have him at #18 all time on my list. His innate sense of rhythm and unique abilities is truly special.

Saw the band in Nov 22. Room only held about 300 ppl. Met with anyone and everyone that wanted to chat after the show. Shared some similar experiences and took a photo w me. He’s a good fucking dude!

Ive been a tube head for years...DrZ, Matchless, Badcat...Ive owned and loved em but I recently went to the Eric Gales RD head and was floored. Now I run two of the 60 watt in stereo....DV mark rocks... And EG is the man!
