Thanks Akai, this update made my day and more. Would have been chuffed to bits with midi learn only, but this updates packs even more punch. The force it really keeps on giving with updates like this. Great work people at Akai!
The fact that some people are selling this thing second hand at 600 is insane to me. This thing has evolved so much over the past couple of years. This is the most DAW in a box product out there. If anyone can get this, you are cultured. 💯💯💯
really yall bring disk streaming to the Force before the MPC? We have been asking for this before the Force was even out? Thanks AKAI for these dope updates but come on with this one?
Dont let the MPC guys wait for too long !!! You deliver Akai, really happy with my MPC One, maybe i get a 2nd one as double deck. If you overhaul the reverb algo, that would kill it finally. But that you accomplished it - it ruled nearly all of the negative aspects. Good job - you could be proud. The stutter FX etc sounded also very usable - also the subgroup automation recording is very appreciated.
🙈 Okay, Midi Learn! But where is your RGB? I have the Midi Mix, there is no support for necessary features to support midi controllers with Akai hardware! With this problem I had lots of probs with it! If you restart your devices, the setting is stored, but you have no communication and the controller do not get the values and you can set every value again! Because for the intern sysex there is no midi learn to bring the values to the controller during loading the project!!!! I have a MPC Live! Please look for better implementation! For me here Akai forgot the most important! Fir Live Performance the MPC Live needs a controller! But the implementaion isn't on a necessary level!
This is an amazing update!!! The ONE thing it really needs is to be able to go from one project to another live so you can perform an hour or two set with it. If you made it more stable and added this feature, the Force would be unstoppable.
Thats a major one thing, im contemplating buying the force but going from one project to another is important. What is the average load time for a project . Cheers
It also got aftertouch for a few Synths (and improved pads response?) Really nice update. I hope the next one will bring more sequencer/midi work. Things like time signatures, sequencer workflow, more targets for aftertouch, smarter midi learning, MPE/MIDI 2...
Akai needs to think outside the "house, trap, glitch, be-bap" four-on-the-floor crowd and realize there is a MUCH LARGER GLOBAL MARKET out there (with cash in hand)... If only they'd embrace other musical genres and the cultural rhythms and tunings these artists and producers use within them. It's time for the Akai technicians who've worked so hard on updates thus far on the Force....to take a break from the computer code and start listening to music....put on some reggae, latin, fusion, jazz, blues, and start to realize the potential here...if you simply give these genres proper respect...to give them the tools they need to create their best work on the Force. Practically speaking.... If I can't provide my drummer with a click in 7/8 from the Force or tune the Force to the bands instrument tuning -- then it is not a true workstation for the people...it's an isolation device with parameters tailored to DJ's. Dear Akai: Songs are still written on instruments by musicians in other time signatures, in other rhythms, in other tunings (and even other temperaments within tunings). This basic toolset in a daw (tuning, time signatures, rhythms, etc) is absent on the Force. It's embarrassing and a real shame for a "professional" product. These real factors are a true deterrent to any creative musician desiring to use the Force for true song creation, cooperation, and collaboration with other artists. I believe this is how you'll get a huge chunk of us creative producers out there to give you our money. Please make us a box that we can swing, tune, and time to our songs. That would truly be a real Force. cheers guys,
Amen to this. Honestly I barely use my Force anymore because staying in 4/4 is a drag. At least on the MPC One I can set my time signature and tempo per section.

This is starting to look like a better prospect than the MPC. At least, for those whom prefer a more DAW like workflow (as opposed to the MPC workflow).
I was very close to buying it. Unfortunately, as far as my research goes, you can't change tempo by launching a new scene. It's a shame when a feature you would expect to be there is the deal breaker. Damn I was already hyped to get it 😂
I’m glad to see Force users got Odysey, Melotron, and Selina. I’m hoping this means One, Live, Live II and X users will get disk streaming in their next update (which I hope is a 3.0 update for many reason).
@@CodySmiley I didn’t say the One has an hdd. I expected that I could choose the disk (like the “D” in SD). My BlackBox streams from SD so why would it have to be an hdd? Also, I put an SSD in my Live2, so IT doesn’t have an hdd either, could I not stream from IT?
@@EverettVinzant If disc streaming comes to MPC, it will work in the same way as in Force. They will not make a special version of the software for MPC One, in addition, in One the USB controller is version 2.0, which means it does not allow high speeds.
@@CodySmiley I’ve streamed audio over USB 2.0 (AGAIN THE BLACKBOX DOES THIS), in Linux AND Windows… Plus, it would be based on the driver at the OS level. Since the OS of the MPC One is the same as Live, Live 2, X, etc… (Linux) and ALL the storage devices in Linux are represented by a file… I’m still not quite understanding why you think this would be a special function for the One or why USB 2.0 matters… It all looks the same to the OS.
I've been using MPC for about 25y now and I couldn't live without it, it's clearly become the center of my workflow ! When ableton Live came out I tried APC and absolutely loved it but I was terrified by the risk of computer crash during a live performance so I never really got further with APC and sold it quite quick to be honest. But the Force really came as a serious option for my workflow... The main feature that was missing for live purposes in a serious setup was disk streaming... after 10 seconds of that video it was like "allelujah !!!! " :D Now this is major update and takes the Force to a whole new level...
Now I wish Audio Track levels weren’t project wide. You rebuild an entire song with 8 stems on one sequence via Audio Tracks, with automation and everything, and then do it all over again in another sequence. But right now all levels and sends for ATs remain static project wide. Nevertheless, this may be the most powerful piece of hardware for live performance
for upcoming updates I have some further improvement-suggestions 1. Step Sequencer It would be cool to have an further step sequencer mode (polyphonic) that is similar to the one on "Novation Circuit" or "Launchpad Pro MK3", where you press on a step and select THEN the note(s) you want to have in this step. And where you can also see which notes are programmed in this step, when you press on the related step. In my opinion this far easier and faster than pressing one note and then the step where it shell be played. 2. Padlayout - auto follow A further improvement suggestion is, to make an option in the settings menu, where you can enable that the Padlayout follows automatically to what is shown on the display. For example: If you open the Matrix: The Pads show the "Launch"-Layout If you open some Plugin Settings: The Pads show the "Note"-Layout If you open "Clip" or "Arrangement": The Pads show the "Step Sequencer"-Layout 3. More use of the Arrow Buttons When I got the Akai Force I was pretty depressed that the 4 Arrow buttons only allow navigation in the "Launch" View. I really would look forward to use these buttons also in other views for selection of the right now controlled parameter of the big rotary knob. 4. Faster Plugin Edit Method in Matrix-View It is pretty annoying to only be able to edit an Plugin via the EDIT and Track Selection button. Especially when you look on to the screen in Matrix View, when you see your Plugintrack and a touch on it does not let you open the settings for it. You then need to lookdown, search for the EDIT and Track select button and only then you can open the settings. 5. Faster Arrangement-View call A Button kombination (shortcut) which can open the arrangement view immiediately . 6. Support for Bluetooth Speakers/ Bluetooth Audio Devices Bluetooth speakers are way more flexibel in use. It would make life so much easier if bluetooth could be connected with the Akai Force-Bluetooth Module. I know the soundquality is not as good as a cable connection with Monitor speakers, but often I don't want to mix my tracks on the force. I just want to play arround with sounds and do a bit of simple beat making. And for that, a bluetooth speaker is totally enough. Even better would be a build in speaker in to the Force, but that is not included in the device hardware. 7. Computer Keyboard and Mouse support some kind of Shortcut support for Computer keyboards or any other functionality than just typing in the letters for file names would be cool. Also a computer-mouse support would give more flexibility in the handling of the device. 8. One Audio Driver for all physical Ins and Outs Similar to the Asio4All Driver on a Computer, it would be easier to have one Driver which can handle all connected Audio interfaces and Audioports at once. 9. Multi Track Audio Stream into a DAW As far as I ubderstand the Force so far, it is not possible to directly stream the sound of several Tracks in Force to a DAW. I think that would make a lot of sense, because you could do all the beatmaking in the Force and also could do precise mixing in your DAW live and simultaniously, without the need of exporting stems out of Force and importing them in to your DAW. It would make things more flexible. And an Audio Stream via USB or an other Digital Connection is better for the Audio Quality, than converting the digital Force Audio Streams into mono (via an multi Channel USB Interface) and connecting these Analog Ports back to another Interface that converts everything to an digital stream again. 10. Multi Track Audio Stream from a DAW in to Akai Force The other way arround would then be also nice, to be able to record or stream multiple tracks from a DAW Session to the Force without the Analog conversion, that makes the Audio lose quality and is time consuming in preparing and also in latency terms
MPC needs the arrangement window like the force for better control of the arrangement of beats. Will really add a new dimension to mpc production. Song mode is not really a visual way of arrangement, I know it’s historical to mpc but let’s make things better rather than holding on to the old school iconics that don’t improve ergonomics.
I'm really impressed. But why haven't you ported the "Force plug-ins", so that a ableton user, using only a moderate amount of those plugins in a project, would be able to open such a project on the force, and unlike today, still be able to at least have some plugins in ableton. The next thing, would of course be to port the "force DAW" in to a plugin (possibly stand-alone version as well). That way people that do enjoy the ableton style workflow, but prefer other daw, could get the "force daw", and be able to use it inside their favorite DAW, combined with the hardware and control of that "force SAW" and possibly transport controls, perhaps mixer outside the plugin, you would have a really powerful offering. (Especially if the Force daw would support routing audio tracks to the plugin, and record, so that one could export a project from another daw in to it, be it a bit cumbersome, but so would be freezing plug-in tracks and exporting the audio to the force be as well). (Personally, to be able to use an ableton style workflow inside of studioOne, would probably make me mostly switch to that daw, and I would happily buy a force if that was required to be able to do that, I probably would, even if I could buy the "force DAW" plugin separately and would be able to map it to my launch controllers from Akai and Novation, as I the force could be a mobile/sketch set-up) If you would do this, you would not necessarily need to port the plugins as my suggestion above, as ableton users could open the force daw inside ableton, but I do think that for an ableton user, having access to the workflow inside ableton, but with the added plugins, would feel more natural, than working in a plugin, inside of ableton. I'm not a force owner yet, any of my suggestions above, would make it so that I would absolutely try to find a room in my budget for it. Another thing that would convince me, even if neither of those features above came, is an instrument, that I would call the orchestrator, similar to what eastwest does with their opus orchestrator (sonuscore with their orchestra), but simpler. It should be possible to do, with disc streaming. It might require "freeze" the arrangement to audio tracks not to overload the system when exiting the instrument (but if the project saves references to settings inside the plugin, and the arp/sequencer parts inside it, one could open it up later for editing). If done right, the core samples used for that instrument, could be used in other instruments on the platform as well. There is some synth power that I feel lacking with the force instruments, but I would be able to work around that for the most part. But a way of quickly sketching orchestrations, and make simple trailer-music style songs, inside of it, would be enough to convince me. Another thing I would really like to see, is either expanded capabilities of the mellotron, or a mellotroner instrument/effect. Arturia supports sample import in to their mellotron, I think IK multimeda does as well, not sure about g force. But that would be a cool tool, that would work well with lo-fi genres, but also could make for some cool parts in other genres as well. As a pianoplayer, a really good sounding piano would be nice as well.
WORD!!! a Force DAW-plugin is exactly what I’ve been thinking during the past year. Apart from allowing any combination with any other DAWs (Ableton, etc), any overlapping issues in terms of agreements between third parties (e.g. Force vs Push) would be zero. By the way, an example is the plugin developed by NI for the Maschine. Something similar would be terrific! Thanks for listening our feedback on the Force, Akai 🙏🏽
Just finally picked one up I can't wait to receive it. After years of giving feedback and seeing it come to reality wow these updates are amazing I really need this right now. It's going to be a fresh rejuvenation of creativity I've been needing to get... nice one Akai
My only request is about Step-Recording. I wish to record a note or chord from the external MIDI keyboard to FORCE in Step-Recording mode. That say, I'm going to play a note or chord from an external keyboard while I'm pressing and holding a specific step, and then I can record the note or chord. Arturia KeyStep Pro and Elektron Digitakt's MIDI track (only via MIDI) can do that. I'm a keyboard guy, and I wouldn't say I like to play with hearing the metronome. Also, it's quicker to memolize the chord progression by the way above than the real-time recording. Please, AKAI, give that force to the FORCE!!🪄🙏🙇
Congratulations 🎊 👏. Akai is working hard. Much much thanks. Can't wait for the software companion for the Force. The Foce is amazing...but most of all, it is fun!

I was on the verge of buying this a couple of years back, but I went for octatrack instead! I love octatrack, but this update made me regret not buying it! This Christmas I’ll get it!
This is what I've been wanting for literally 20 years. It's basically a standalone Linux hardware version of Ableton Live, optimized for hands-on use to be even more "live", with a bunch of nice synths and effects included, plus the best of the MPC world's fantastic sample-based features for drums, keys, and chops. I ordered one last week and it should be here any day now. I'm really looking forward to the workflow... it's dramatically faster and easier than what I've been doing. I'll probably sample the best parts of my other gear and then sell most of it, keeping only the Force and a couple of my favorite instruments... which should easily pay for the Force and then some. Like, I'm not gonna need my OP-1 or Digitakt any more... this does both of their jobs better.
@@subiesojourner777 Yes, the Force runs Linux. It can also have community add-ons installed, like the Mockba mod, for people who want to add extra features. I miss the possibility to connect an additional screen, which you could control via Bluetooth mouse/keyboard. In that way you could have a mixed and flexible standalone-computerish experience.
You can connect a keyboard to it for typing, idk about a mouse though
@@mrcriticr Yes, with bluetooth! :)
Awesome I can dust off my "Midi Twister Fighter"!
I love this. Can yall give us the arranger view in The One, X, and Live2?

Well..finally MIDI learn yeeeeaaa, what about connecting together MPC to Force and vice versa ?? like Ableton link for MPC?? :D
Thanks Akai, this update made my day and more. Would have been chuffed to bits with midi learn only, but this updates packs even more punch. The force it really keeps on giving with updates like this. Great work people at Akai!
Nice!
The fact that some people are selling this thing second hand at 600 is insane to me. This thing has evolved so much over the past couple of years. This is the most DAW in a box product out there. If anyone can get this, you are cultured. 💯💯💯
Got mine for $500 with a UDG case. Mint condition.
Akai run ish!
I don't know sh*t about FORCE...but that intro got me feeling like you can defeat Thanos with it .
Well you can at least defeat Emperor Palpatine with it.... lol
Akai has helped Tascam Model mixer sales explode between this and the MPC updates.

really yall bring disk streaming to the Force before the MPC? We have been asking for this before the Force was even out? Thanks AKAI for these dope updates but come on with this one?
Perhaps they’re still testing it out?
Be eazy It’s coming.
@@AveMcree it's coming in November according too a beta tester who ran his mouth too much lol
There is absolutely zero debate this is the best piece of music making gear out today after all the updates.
That's dope! now let us get that arranger mode for the mpc x
This is an amazing update!!! The ONE thing it really needs is to be able to go from one project to another live so you can perform an hour or two set with it. If you made it more stable and added this feature, the Force would be unstoppable.
dude i agree
Need two Forces ;)
Thats a major one thing, im contemplating buying the force but going from one project to another is important. What is the average load time for a project . Cheers
Put everything in one project
No, the Deluge can do it.... The Force should be able yo as well. @@afxtwinreverb
Hey. Just updated the Force and says that for using the new instuments i have to download the files... But where are that files???? I dont find them
It also got aftertouch for a few Synths (and improved pads response?)
Really nice update.

Still at work so haven’t seen the readme.
I wonder if the Streaming to/from SSD ability will eventually end the 8 audio track limit.
Great machine, but the example music played is so horrible I just can't watch it.
FIRE!
This is starting to look like a better prospect than the MPC. At least, for those whom prefer a more DAW like workflow (as opposed to the MPC workflow).
Damn you Akai you keep smacking Maschine in the face with every updates.
Is the SOLINA engine derived from the SONiVOX' "SOLINA REDUX" synth? They're both "in-Music Brands" companies, right? I would imagine so.
I was very close to buying it. Unfortunately, as far as my research goes, you can't change tempo by launching a new scene. It's a shame when a feature you would expect to be there is the deal breaker. Damn I was already hyped to get it 😂
You can now with mockba mod.
I’m glad to see Force users got Odysey, Melotron, and Selina. I’m hoping this means One, Live, Live II and X users will get disk streaming in their next update (which I hope is a 3.0 update for many reason).
One don't have hdd. I waiting for Arranger.
@@CodySmiley you can plug up a hard drive via usb right now
@@CodySmiley I’ve streamed audio over USB 2.0 (AGAIN THE BLACKBOX DOES THIS), in Linux AND Windows… Plus, it would be based on the driver at the OS level. Since the OS of the MPC One is the same as Live, Live 2, X, etc… (Linux) and ALL the storage devices in Linux are represented by a file… I’m still not quite understanding why you think this would be a special function for the One or why USB 2.0 matters… It all looks the same to the OS.

Ohhhhhhhh Andy Mack and all you beautiful background people at Akai you're doing me GOOOOOO9OODDD!!!!!! I LOVE YOU ALL!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
dang son that's what we expect from AKAI, "ENOVATION"
I've been using MPC for about 25y now and I couldn't live without it, it's clearly become the center of my workflow
Now this is major update and takes the Force to a whole new level...
Awsome, we just need the note probability (like ableton or elektron) and we’ll be there!
FINALLLY.... Get those other akai products ie mixer to work with akai products. Well done Akai, well done.
So how about you give us Live users master bus automation then? We'd surely appreciate it
It’s over
Thank you "Akai" again for this fabulous new update you deserve respect!!!
Force for you 💪
for upcoming updates I have some further improvement-suggestions
1. Step Sequencer
It would be cool to have an further step sequencer mode (polyphonic) that is similar to the one on "Novation Circuit" or "Launchpad Pro MK3", where you press on a step and select THEN the note(s) you want to have in this step. And where you can also see which notes are programmed in this step, when you press on the related step.
In my opinion this far easier and faster than pressing one note and then the step where it shell be played.
2. Padlayout - auto follow
A further improvement suggestion is, to make an option in the settings menu, where you can enable that the Padlayout follows automatically to what is shown on the display.
For example:
If you open the Matrix: The Pads show the "Launch"-Layout
If you open some Plugin Settings: The Pads show the "Note"-Layout
If you open "Clip" or "Arrangement": The Pads show the "Step Sequencer"-Layout
3. More use of the Arrow Buttons
When I got the Akai Force I was pretty depressed that the 4 Arrow buttons only allow navigation in the "Launch" View.
I really would look forward to use these buttons also in other views for selection of the right now controlled parameter of the big rotary knob.
4. Faster Plugin Edit Method in Matrix-View
It is pretty annoying to only be able to edit an Plugin via the EDIT and Track Selection button. Especially when you look on to the screen in Matrix View, when you see your Plugintrack and a touch on it does not let you open the settings for it. You then need to lookdown, search for the EDIT and Track select button and only then you can open the settings.
5. Faster Arrangement-View call
A Button kombination (shortcut) which can open the arrangement view immiediately .
6. Support for Bluetooth Speakers/ Bluetooth Audio Devices
Bluetooth speakers are way more flexibel in use.
7. Computer Keyboard and Mouse support
some kind of Shortcut support for Computer keyboards or any other functionality than just typing in the letters for file names would be cool.
Also a computer-mouse support would give more flexibility in the handling of the device.
8. One Audio Driver for all physical Ins and Outs
Similar to the Asio4All Driver on a Computer, it would be easier to have one Driver which can handle all connected Audio interfaces and Audioports at once.
9. Multi Track Audio Stream into a DAW
As far as I ubderstand the Force so far, it is not possible to directly stream the sound of several Tracks in Force to a DAW.
I think that would make a lot of sense, because you could do all the beatmaking in the Force and also could do precise mixing in your DAW live and simultaniously, without the need of exporting stems out of Force and importing them in to your DAW.
It would make things more flexible.
And an Audio Stream via USB or an other Digital Connection is better for the Audio Quality, than converting the digital Force Audio Streams into mono (via an multi Channel USB Interface) and connecting these Analog Ports back to another Interface
that converts everything to an digital stream again.
10. Multi Track Audio Stream from a DAW in to Akai Force
The other way arround would then be also nice, to be able to record or stream multiple tracks from a DAW Session to the Force without the Analog conversion, that makes the Audio lose quality and is time consuming in preparing and also in latency terms
3 & 4 yes pleeaaase. This plus a few other missing features make this such a static device when trying to play live with it
That midimix is a cool piece of kit.
(Personally, to be able to use an ableton style workflow inside of studioOne, would probably make me mostly switch to that daw, and I would happily buy a force if that was required to be able to do that, I probably would, even if I could buy the "force DAW" plugin separately and would be able to map it to my launch controllers from Akai and Novation, as I the force could be a mobile/sketch set-up)
If you would do this, you would not necessarily need to port the plugins as my suggestion above, as ableton users could open the force daw inside ableton, but I do think that for an ableton user, having access to the workflow inside ableton, but with the added plugins, would feel more natural, than working in a plugin, inside of ableton.

Yes!!!! :) Thank you for the continued support of the Force! I love you Akai! ❤️
