Razor wire is like a pad lock. All it is good for is to keep an honest person honest. Anyone with a strong desire can get over it, around it or simply cut it to get through it.

@reddog418 this kind of razor wire isn't left unguarded. in the military and prisons they serve not to fully block a pathway but to slow down people crossing it. you're not fast enough with a throw rug to cross unnoticed, nor can you hide it. and even if you are fast enough and can hide it somehow; they usually place 2 rows of razor wire making passing trough unnoticed/at all nearly impossible.
At 2:20± he says it needs 220,000 lbs/ sq in to cut the it. What a coincidence. And what a number, that's enormous load of pressure to cut threw. Wow. Amazing invention. 4:00 but how do they regather it or break it down once it's no longer needed or used??
Or, a ladder. Drop a ladder over it. Or a telephone pole. Or anything that will flatten it. In a pinch, a couple of blankets will do. Liberty! Freedom!
Throw a few layers of carpet over it or if you do want to cut it use a tool on a pole about 6 feet long this would keep you a safe distance away when it snaps back. Soldiers had to deal with this type of wire in WWI and WWII. Of course now days I'd go with a robot to cut it. BTW a thermal lance can relax the tension stored in the wire if you heat an entire loop before cutting it.
Bolt cutters cut right through this stuff and thick leather welding gloves will protect your hands. Just step back and cut it. Let it wind up on itself and walk right through.
until you run extremely high electrical current through it. igniting any cloth or plastic material you put on it and electrocuting anything that touches it.
Bangalor mine will take out razor wire. Or a bulldozer, backhoe bucket, or stolen tractor trailer truck. Or if you've got some time, a thermite solar lance or just wire cutters. Wire cutters are cheap and fit in your pocket.
Uh jail fencing & power plant fencing should be a 10-12 ft. vinyl fence instead of a chain link topped with this razor sharp wire. Vinyl fencing is more secure because if an inmate or intruder scales a vinyl fence they’d fall and get hurt and not be successful.
And about these thing being hard to cut. If you need this kind of stuff out of your troops way you just get demolitions to blow it up, no reason to F around cutting it...
That barbed wire cage was cool, so was the jawbreaker, and that merry go round with the shot guns and the chain thing that pulls people into the saw blades, and the inferno tank was really cool.

'exactly how the two steels are joined together is a 'trade secret', but it's easy to see the steel wire - it runs like a spine down the centre of the barbed strip making it harder to cut through or bend"... OK... so you make a video of how to make a product that has a secret process involved in the production procedure? ----------- How stupid is this video? good grief... seriously? Isn't it much like making a documentary about KFC and How to make The Colonel's 11 secret herbs and spices and then proceeding to show the 10 spices which is normally ALWAYS used in the average crumbed chicken batter, but on the 11th secret ingredient... (the only ''herb'' in the recipe) - your narrator says something like : "...the 11ths herb is an absolute secret but it is a well known fact that the colonel is a secretly enthusiastic stoner, and loves thai dyed hippie pool parties on sunny saturdays along with whipped cream on his caramel latte's... unfortunately but strangely enough, we have no real facts at all to share about this mysterious 11th herb mixed into the most popular roast chicken spice batter recipe on the planet..."? *sigh*...roll eyes... whatever.
Wah! Life has no guarantees, especially in revealing TRADE secrets? Secrets.... get it? Fascinating, How It's Made doc, though, don't you think? I think "I" will take another hit if the colonel won't bogart that doobie and relax some more. Ahhhh......!
We used that stuff all the time in the military. To cross it you literally just step on it
Yeah but it chews through pants so quick. That crap cost me at least $300 in pants.
how you gonna step through it when its on a fence most of the timw
@@Santeri-zo3wx lol true same here.
@@Santeri-zo3wx if you're never told how to cross it, it looks intimidating.
@maxinepricefield you don't step through it you step on it and you obviously can't on a fence. I'm talking when it's on the ground.

Will it keep rabbits out of my garden? I'm ready to kick it up a notch, little buggers are always one up on me.

Razor wire is like a pad lock. All it is good for is to keep an honest person honest. Anyone with a strong desire can get over it, around it or simply cut it to get through it.
duh. with enough time you can get through anything theoretically. the difference is that objects secured by barbed wire are also often guarded.
one roll of old carpet over it and it's totally useless :o)
Yea and when the carpet sinks in between to rolls of razor wire and cuts you to shreds you'll be useless

The upbeat music and commentary make this seem like something from Starship Troopers
What is very sad, and foretelling, is that razor wire is one of the few things that is still Made in USA.
Ya I was gonna say the same thing
"nearly impossible to cut" "possibly lethal if touched" who wrote this?
Why does the last minute of the video exist?
2:52 do not trip and fall onto that!
can be defeated by a thick rug, carried by one man which will allow your entire team to traverse
People here seem oddly vindictive against razor wire.
It will be used against a mass Honduran invasion of US three years in the future.

Usually they don't have wire cutters, Molecular Acid, or a throw rug in prisons.
Beginning awesome delivery and setup of the wire.
We're gonna need lots of that shit when society collapses.
If I were to choose between a minefield and a razor wire..I would totally go for the razors.
that's the easiest choice ever
its just meant to slow people down so you have time to react.
I need that shit to keep the nieghbors out of my yard.
Is it really so dangerous if cut?

Oh man can it really go so far as 6 feet?
@cogreza you missed the point, but thanks for the reply.
How would they put it on a fence if you really cant handle this stuff? They said it can tear through heavy duty gloves so what do you use?
Wire-handling gloves are made with the palm surfaces faced with steel staple surfacing. And even so, you still get gouged every so often.
2:53 damn imagine if you fell into thoes
my new fear....razor wires
Yet in Hollywood rusty wire cutters looking like they dug it up in Normandy does the trick
Yes use hessian backed carpet and bolt crops makes light work get long reach bolt crops
yeah but like he said if you cut if it will strike back
Bolt cutters cut right through this stuff and thick leather welding gloves will protect your hands. Just step back and cut it. Let it wind up on itself and walk right through.

TexasGTO that's not how electricity works.

were you paying attention if you cut razor wire it cuts you back because it acts like a spring
I came here from a video about invention of barbed wires
That would be crazy in a riot
i want some for the back of my shop

You know what beats razor wire? A throw rug.
Wait, are they using Red Alert music?
Prisoners: ok lets cut this wire!
*cuts wire* *springs back*
Prisoners: OW that hurt...... lets go!
I’m not gonna lie I’m literally skinny enough to fit through the gaps of that wire
I'm sure during WW2 the Germans were proud that barbed wire was made in the fatherland, so too is fate of US.
Would love to see y'all play with it. Be a good way to get a healthy laugh
Looks more pointy then sharp
Lol I though the whole razer looking part was sharp like a razer with sharp points

Or the floor mat in your car. If you drove there, you're good to go.
Two words. Aqua fortis. It's a powerful acid and can eat through that stuff AND the fence in notime.
Oh really? If I throw a rubber car floor mat nothing will happen because it doesn't conduct electricity.
Didnt you listen to the start of the video?
I still remember that SAW movie...
That barbed wire cage was cool, so was the jawbreaker, and that merry go round with the shot guns and the chain thing that pulls people into the saw blades, and the inferno tank was really cool.
