The reason why vampires didn't have a reflection is because older mirrors had silver backing, if a mirror didn't have silver in it it would have a reflection.

TopCuntKelvin you know what this is probably why rich people always had their maids do their makeup and hair because they didn't have mirrors so they couldn't see themselves!
TopCuntKelvin I only said so because I watched this old Korean show and it was probably set around 100 A.D and they had servants help them get dressed and put on makeup but it's probably hard to do that without a reflection
Relax people it will be cleaned again before it gets to the customers. Did you see how it had marks when it got to the cutting table. Everything will be alright, not to worry.

Metals being opaque in nature, a very thin coating is sufficient. Silver and copper are highly malleable and now a days very thin films, like we use in micro electronics, can be prepared using spray forming. The silver backed by copper protects it. So very small quantity is sufficient to get the reflectivity required.

After conducting extensive and painstakingly in depth research, I have concluded that the American version of this television programme does not have this voice either.

As far as I remember, I could live without a mirror as a teen. I didn't need one.
thumbs up
Good, my house was always under construction, so we never had a mirror.
Lol I love being a guy.
as far as i remember (still a teen , technically , 19 ) i hated mirrors and still avoid them to this day.
why would i wanna' be constantly reminded that i look like me? EW.
Imani Dominguez
Sometimes I watch this stuff for hours then when it comes up in a conversation I think I'm smart!
"How can mirrors be real if our eyes aren't real" -Jaden Smith
You probably forgor about this comment.
@@Newbinator you probably did too.
@@jesselovesJesus3 Yeah, I kinda did...
the most dumb thing I have ever heard!
That makes no sense lmfao
Mirror inspector, that's a job I can see myself doing
Damn you
Haha I get it
+Cloud You sir, deserve a standing ovation.
with those kind of puns you could narrate these how it's made videos too
You copied that joke from someone else who commented on this vid
What happened to the guy who narrated How Its Made on Discovery? This woman is so annoying!
Maybe he quit?
+Michelle Ann She was his boss and he couldnt stand her voice any longer and quit.
Valar Morghulis Her voice is like...scraping metal
She was the narrator before the guy. This show has been around for YEARS
Really enjoyed watching this video
Wow think about how a lot of the people of the past never got to know how their face looked...
It's not the same tho
TopCuntKelvin you know what this is probably why rich people always had their maids do their makeup and hair because they didn't have mirrors so they couldn't see themselves!
TopCuntKelvin I only said so because I watched this old Korean show and it was probably set around 100 A.D and they had servants help them get dressed and put on makeup but it's probably hard to do that without a reflection
Water reflects too you know :)
+Praise Yahweh They used obsidian back than
How do they make fleshlights?
flashlights**
+Nyasia Chambers **fleshlight *wicked smile*
+Nyasia Chambers oh you poor innocent thing
+Emo Jesus ????
+Nyasia Chambers 😂😂😂😂😂
This narrator lady is pretty annoying.
Rachel S. She sounds like a moron
Rachel S. Is there life on Mars?
She sounds like she’s yelling kinda
Rachel S. It’s not just me then. lol. I didn’t watch the show during the time that she was the narrator, and I’m glad. She’s annoying as fuck
Rachel S. Lady? Sounds like a man
People are so creative and so inventive. I don’t think we have too much to worry about.
Now this is a job I could really see myself doing.
Did they make the drawings with an Etch-a-Sketch?
AJ Campo
It's basically an etch-a-sketch with a sword, run by a computer
Spend all that time cleaning the mirror through machines, only to have it touched with bare hands by that man 🤦🏽♀️
Its not cleaning
My OCD was through the roof seeing those prints
@@ReinhardVonn They literally explained the glass was heavly cleaned at the beginning bruh
Relax people it will be cleaned again before it gets to the customers. Did you see how it had marks when it got to the cutting table. Everything will be alright, not to worry.
oh my god how satisfying is this being able to press the arrow key to fast forward through the nonsense for-tv monologues in the background!
UA-cam should be worth way more than Netflix...
Inspecting mirrors is a job I could see myself doing.
Mirrorcle
You stole that bitch.
So what happens to the leftover mirror that's been cut???
True. So what happen
I think those leftover mirror were gonna be use for small mirrors like, pocket mirrors, the mirrors that you can see in your make up or something, etc.
time for the worker to bring it home and modify.
Maurice Hancock it's melted?
4:01 Don't touch the mirror with your bare hands... come on
Lol. I thought the same thing. I cringed at the thought of fingerprints on the freshly made and washed mirror.
***** haha and go to 4:35 look at all those fingerprints that they are making, even with gloves -_-
They wash them before shipping.
Your bare hands have a better grip than gloves. I'd rather a dirty mirror that can be cleaned over a broken one.
If it's broken then they don't ship it.
my brain: I don't know man, maybe you should finish this overdue assignment of yours already
UA-cam: here's a documentary about mirrors.
also my brain: *click*
how are mirrors so cheap when they use Silver and Copper?
Lima Funla Hello Lima. Because the thickness of the layer is so very thin you only need very very little of these materials.
How are pennies so cheap when they use Copper?
TR P r/woooosh?
I can see profit in the mirror recycling bussiness
Metals being opaque in nature, a very thin coating is sufficient. Silver and copper are highly malleable and now a days very thin films, like we use in micro electronics, can be prepared using spray forming. The silver backed by copper protects it. So very small quantity is sufficient to get the reflectivity required.
Wanted to punch the guy who was “inspecting” a clean mirror with his bare grubby hands
INERT
What the fuck did I just read?
Relax, it will get cleaned again.
why does it matter they still gotta cut it and touch it some more
I called the company and he get fired.

After 12 years this video recommend me and you...
Same
LOL! "special tools." they were using pliers
DrowsyEel exactly what I said when I saw the video😂😂
Leo Nardo Oh I know they wouldnt use regular pliers. That would damage the glass.
DrowsyEel I work at a glass shop and yes there special glass tools just for that any other use will damage the pliers
What do they do with the extra portion of oval mirror ? Recycle for glass ?
5;37 that cameraman tho
Eileen Kang haha good one
5:37 *
I have to admit, for a How it's Made video, this was some extreme ear candy of soothing music to listen to, especially for something as mystifying and magically fantastical as a mirror.
4:00 hell no I'm not standing in front of that machine unless the I've visually seen the power cord completely unplugged.
Glad we don't have her voice in the UK version of this show...
We didn't with the American version either, it was some dude with a wonderful voice
We dont now either, we only had this annoying voice for a year (1 Season), and thank go. The normal guy is perfect.
We don't on the NA version either, or maybe she is a sub. We have some guy with a boss voice.
After conducting extensive and painstakingly in depth research, I have concluded that the American version of this television programme does not have this voice either.
The uk one is the best one, better than this one, she sounds miserable
no one :
youtube : sure let's put on this 2008 video on everyone's feeds

😂😂😂
I really wonder if I’ll check in back in 10 more years and see this still up, time really flies by
I wonder how it would look like if you would stand inside a completely round mirror ball or cylinder (with light), I could imagine a cube, but with round surface I bet that would like out of this world
Dude,u jus blew my mind
Look up Vsauce's video: 'Inside a spherical mirror', there's your answer.
uh nice must have missed this one, thx! :)
Chris Redford Hi Chris, Thanks for the video lead. It was fascinating.
Ken
ken barker No probs :)
imagine a world without mirrors. people wouldnt feel so insecure
hahaha best comment ever!
Agreed!
Jim Freeman maybe it'll be good if it was only used for science lol
We would use water reflection
phones or camera
4:00 those two people move perfectly in sync, its almost like a mirror.
Yeah man!
I did not expect a 13-year-old video to teach me about this, but I’m glad I watched it hah
