Allahumma barik. This is such a beneficial episode. May Allah reward you all. The Shaykh mentioned that we should study Islamic history. Do you know of any books or videos in English that are about Islamic history? Barakallah feek
Jaazkha Allāhu khair for the comment. As far as some books on history, there is Al-Bidaya wa'l-Nihaya by Ibn Kathir and Ibn Kathir also has smaller works pertaining to history as well.
Great point highlighted by Brother Ahmed - classifying sects and people in the religion should be for a noble purpose, for the sake of pleasing Allah - not for belittling others. And classification is only done to the extent that is needed to bring about rectification! The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The deen (religion) is naseehah (advice, sincerity).” We said, “To whom?” He (ﷺ) said, “To Allah, His Book, His Messenger, and to the leaders of the Muslims and their common folk.” [Muslim] May Allah increase our brothers in this podcast and keep us all sincere upon the truth.
i wish the brother would let the guests speak more without interrupting them. when he cuts off the guests mid sentence or mid thought before continuing thier sentence its takes away from other beneficial things he may be trying to share.

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته I wanted to ask about that hadith. The ummah will divide into 73 sects. Knowing that not every Muslim will not be in the hellfire forever. What about the other 72 sects will they be bought out of the fire eventually?
@@abadam6649 Not a good answer, it is true but they are seeking Ilm. If you do not know the answer than direct them to the sources or people of knowledge who know the answer and if you do know the answer than do not gatekeep the deen since it is haram.

Some would argue that this is a classic Madkhali response to justify why only they are allowed to engage in labeling and name-calling. Referring to others with whom you disagree as Ikhwanis, Qutbis, etc. is a sign of empty partisanship and blind sectarianism. Saying that your view is the absolute, correct view based on the Quran and Sunnah is a tad self-serving. Your opponents would beg to differ. Why not simply refer to ideas and criticize ideas as such, rather than engaging in pointless insults and labeling? That would be the more academic and objective standard. Otherwise, people will insult you the same you insult them, even if you rationalize your name-calling as simple truth-telling. Others, too, will call you Makdhali, Jami', and rationalize their insults as truth-telling. Let's do better.
The Ikhwanis and Qutbi are the one who classified themselves. They love being called Ikhwani and they call themselves Ikhwani. They are actually Khawarij.
