@runisa I wasn't aware of that, but I believe you. Still - that was 30mins over 3 long movies. Luna only had 13 plus mins over 8 long movies. Both Gr8 characters though. Thanks for sharing!!
Luna Lovegood reminds me strongly of young ladies that I’ve known who were on the autism spectrum. I think the actress who played Luna was perfectly cast. She’s brilliant.
I think Rowling based certain characters off of people she knew in real life, so the relationships in HP were basically her shipping her real life friends together. She's said this about Hermione and Ron, saying that in hindsight Hermione and Harry should have ended up together, but that she wrote the Hermione and Ron relationship as a form of wish fulfilment.
Hm, when I was young, I had the same thoughts but then again looking back I notice that she more of sisterly guide to him for accepting and handling death and then became an odd but quirky friend of the group to him because of it. With how he is been through, he needs a friend who can understand his grief and could console without forcing the subject. But I mean i understand your view.

Luna Lovegood was the Only person able to detect Harry underneath the invisibility cloak; a feat not even Death could accomplish, if the legend is true. That's a pretty heavy accomplishment. For the little time she had in the movies, she was always my favorite character. I love the way she skips around. Sweet, happy, AND wise beyond her yrs.
@ButtershyWisemovies and books are different, books are the imagination of jk rowling the movies are just adaptations, adaptations aren’t always 1 for 1. it’s a different mind creating a different world. luna from the movies is an alternate version of the original character from the book, very similar, yet there are different qualities, just the same with Harry potter. so the chemistry is different, unless u believe that the movies should stick to the books and directors shouldn’t have a say in directing their own movie
@@underdevelopment9171I never read the books, but I've seen all the movies at least 50x each. I can understand why Harry married Ginny & not Luna. Someone else said she should should have ended up with Nevil, & I can agree with that.

Her character was very intelligent. In the ways she helped Harry, she felt to me like she could have been an OLDER sister or perhaps cousin. She definitely was a big part of Harrys' "Extended family".
At 6:55 in the book, it was actually Tonks that found Harry in the train in Draco’s compartment. But having Luna do it in the movies is actually a nice change, it’s a funny moment.
I would have been OK with that, but I think it was better that it ended up being the way it did. If anything, Her & Nevil should have been together at the end, & have them both be sending THEIR kids to Hogwarts along with the other 4 on screen.

Never as purely and perfectly as is written (let's face it, most fictional characters are written to be just so), but yes, there are. I know and have known several, male and female. Fact is though that a lot of people who say they wish they knew someone like Luna would rarely actually tolerate her kind of personality for very long. They like the _idea_ of hanging out with social outsiders but, when they get the chance, discover that they can't do it. Take it from someone who always has been a social outsider and has seen enough "friends" give up trying to understand them.
Why couldn't Harry see the thestrals before Cedric Digory's death? When he was a one year old he witnessed Voldemort kill his mother didn't he? Unless you can't see them until you are a certain age?!.
Thestrals only become visible to someone who has not only witnessed death but also fully accepted, understood and emotionally processed it. Harry was too young to comprehend his mother's death in this way, which is why he could only see the Thestrals after witnessing Cedric Diggory's death as an older and more aware person.

She's so quirky and cute!

She also voiced her character in games
She sounds like Cat-leen, Farmer Michael's ex
Luna's presence in all four movies was 13+ min? Felt like more
It was stretched across 3 movies that’s why.
Same with Darth Vader he was only in the OG trilogy for 30 minutes across all three movies
Felt powerful, though.
Because she left an impact
