He also said it happened within a mere couple of seconds. Sit back and experience two seconds. What happened? I'm guessing not much, you probably can't even remember. Now, contemplate two seconds when you are not expecting anything out of the ordinary to happen. You probably wouldn't even notice. To me, that would be the best kind of ending to conscious existence as we know it.

I dont think so. They saw the cloud coming at them, they heard screams, to me the minutes that happened before were terrific. If those two seconds ended their lives I think we can all agree that we all went through a situation where seconds lasted hours and pain was horrible. Imagine this, where the whole body is in it. Those two seconds had to be a nightmare.

It was early in the morning when their final moments came so no doubt the children were likely sleeping.

Open Sesame yeah but it could be like his ancestors godparents, brothers, sister’s, cousins, uncles. He could have ancestors that died in it but the lineage continued cause said ancestors had a kid somewhere else before they died, so there’s ways around it. The real question is how does anyone know they’re even related to anyone in or around Pompeii at the time? A lot has happened in 2,000 years. Someone living in the region where Pompeii is now may not have any ancestry that traces to the residents of Pompeii back then.

It was a curse from heaven to destroy the people who was punished for their activities against the teaching of their Prophet at that time.
When God decides to destroy any community He does like that.

im not highly educated, i know exactly what happen, and I was'nt there. they were killed by volcanic gases, ashes, burns, and buried. also, come on, just before this quick death, they had some warnings, enough to run and go under the building there and see if help woud come or other plan, while there , some fell asleep maybe, praying, hoping, and then this quick blast ended it all. now, you can come up with all these thories,

Idk about the kids being actually asleep. There was most definitely loud sounds being made by the mountain and people in a panic making noise. Laying down certainly. But sleeping?... Idk about that

The people of Lut rejected (his) warning. We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn,- As a Grace from Us: thus do We reward those who give thanks. And (Lut) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed about the Warning. (Surat al-Qamar:, 33-36)

Wouldn't it be neat/weird if they invented some sort of camera/phone that after you take a picture of a place, such as this, that's old but not necessarily , it plays the events of that time period, kinda like a time machine.. Then you could see what happened and why.. Another example take a picture of a death/crime scene such as Marilyn Monroe's , even if it's just a picture of a picture, and it shows a "trailer" of what happened right before it.. :-)
