Damn brother. I hate that You're having trouble out of your Johnson's I have the 2116 short travel got a 2010 z06 with Tony Mamo trick flow heads, Just take your time man. You got this, I've got a stock cam in a real mild one brand new in the box Texas speed. Hit me up if you need, LS7 is pretty much factory race engine.😊 Don't get rid of the z man. You'll regret it. These cars are getting more valuable every day🤘
Lifters go bad because of improper pushrod length and bad oil pressure. No need to overthink it. It has nothing do with the cam and mods. My uncle had a cammed zo6 and put over 70k miles on the modded setup. I recommend buying a titan 1 cam motion cam for your ls7 and genuine ls7 lifters and brand new genuine gm lifter tray. That’s all that needs to be done. It will set you back 1000 bucks with all the parts and you’re doing the labor.
A lot more to it then that although those things can def. cause it. My oil pressure on my Ram 1500 was 7 psi at idle and the lifters lasted 250,000. My oil pressure on the Z06 was the lowest at 25 and they did not last 30k. Checked with the machine shop and checked myself, pushrod length was fine. Path forward is all stock GM parts, or A stock LS3. OEM lifter lasted 70k a lifter sleeve failed.

Thanks for the encouragement man
Heard a lot of good things on the Johnsons, I think mine failed because a spring broke first, not the lifters fault
