I remember hearing this song a lot on the radio when it was first released. It continued being popular throughout the year of 2006/2007. It is nostalgic for me now. It reminds me of being a carefree teenager of 15, going to a snooker bar with my friends, drinking Pepsi, and eating chips. Worrying about the future, school, and trying to connect with girls and diminish my social awkwardness. Good times. A British youth faded in time.

Are you kidding? From 2004-2007 they were one of the biggest bands in the country, 5 top 10 singles, 1st album 4x platinum, 2nd album 5x platinum. They got loads of attention.
This song came out when i was a little kid. I didn't understand the sentiment of the song back then but now as a 26 year old the lyrics hit really hard.
This song is just pure nostalgia of long drives in the British countryside at night coming home to our small humble home looking out the window and having day dreams about America
This was a time. Lily Allen, Duffy, The Streets, Amy Whinehouse, Corin Bailey Ray, The Kooks, Razorlight, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Hoosiers, Kasabian, the list goes on pretty much all bringing our their debuts in the same year some of them living round the corner or just seeing them around London all the time actual artists on MTV singing in British accents such creative moving music it was so new and different like our generations Brit Pop- we were spoilt. I miss it. And we all thought the Killers we’re British hahaha the good old days.
Same i guess. It is definitly the geniration i was ment to be in. Todays "music" is basicly white noise, a constapation groan, and "musicians" forcing what they think is right or wrong and basicly their opinions down out throughts.
When I first heard wire to wire I was just another 17 year old boy having no access to the internet nor had any money. Now I am grown 27 and I always had the song stuck on my mind. It was not the only song I was determined I would listen to once I grew up and had money of my own. It's a different kind of life out here for me at least. Nobody would know. These are just pure gold. The bands and music from 2000s. It's like these bands were giving out their last big first shot.
Damn, i remember listening to this from my iPod as a little kid. Just starting elementary, parents were still together, my sister who is now a grown-ass teenager was just a newborn baby. Life was so simple.
I remember so much good music coming out at this time. To me, this was a golden age. We are starting to see a return with new artists but my god things were coming out left right and center here. Bands that actually wrote and played their own music. And what music!
I was there too it was crazy when Ricky Wilson was climbing up the scaffolding I also got some sort of substance thrown at me I would like to think it’s beer but who would throw a £10 pint
This is my favorite song, and it probably has been since I first heard it playing in the TV. Whenever I feel down, this is the song I listen to. Whenever I am filled with joy, this is the song I listen to. It has so much meaning to me, and it is impossible for me to explain why! I love this song, on so many levels.
It was early 2008, I was passed out on my friend's step-dad's floor after getting pissed for the first time. I had a hangover the size of America itself and would have remained firmly in the foetal position for the whole day had it not been for my friend's polyphonic version of this song playing for what seemed like the 28th time separated by ten minute intervals after he'd set it as his alarm. My eardrums and brain as a whole have a permanent imprint of this song and I can't hear that riff without smiling. Nee-nee-nee-neeneenee
This song gives me bitter waves of nostalgia. I remember my mum used to take me to this big indoor play centre with ball pits and slides and I remember this was playing on one of my visits there - it had just come out. I remember hearing it on the radio in the car a lot of times after that and it makes me remember the shopping trips we used to have together. But now that's all gone and I am booking an MRI scan and am terrified that my whole life is going to be torn apart due to my health deteriorating. If ever there was a song that makes me cry it is this one. It holds so much value for me. Ahhhh man... why isn't time travel possible? I'm 19 and already want to go back in time to my childhood; this isn't a good start :(
god i don't know where i know this song but i am thankful ! these notes from the beginning who continues after in the song... this is pure magic in my ears !!
This came on the radio a lot when I was about 10 years old, I loved it but I never knew the name of the song or band. My english wasn't really good back then so I didn't know what they were singing about, I kinda forgot the song when the years past but now, 8 years later, this song is playing on TV and I finally know the name and artist, still love it as much as I did back then.
Randomly remembered this today, such a great song. To anyone who comments about bands being underrated, it's the job of the music press to keep the good bands in mind and for new bands to namecheck and introduce their influences to their own fans. That’s how a healthy appreciation of music grows, and of course the amazing playlists that people put together on this app. Why not do the same if you want to pass on your recommendations rather than just lamenting that a song isn't more well known.
