Wow! This is just what I need for the sweater I am about to sew. Because I have some very long seams to sew in this sweater, I like that with this method you don't need to pull the long working yarn through each stitch. Thank you so very much!!!

Thanks so much for this great tip! I LOVE all your videos and email tips and have used many of the tips you so generously provide. I just used this crochet method for seaming raglan sleeves and it looks great! I'd just like to add though that you should use a crochet hook the same size (in mm) as the size of your knitting needles that were used to knit the pieces you're seaming. That way the chain created by the hook in the seam is the same size as the knitted stitches. Thanks again for aharing all your knowledge and wonderful tips!!!

Thank you for another great video! I tried the knitted square chain stitch and it worked beautifully. Now, I will try the crochet version. I agree with "suskky" that the yellow color you use as a contrast to the blue background makes it very easy to see what you are doing.

This is a great technique! I wanted a decorative seam on the sides/underarms to match a knit/purl 3-needle bind off used on the shoulders/sleeves, and this technique was perfect. It definitely took some time, but I'm very happy with the results!

This is great. By using this technique I am able to finish a top with just two strands to weave in. When it is time to separate the stitches for the arms, I knit to the first one, keeping all the stitches on my needle, I knit the first sleeve flat, all the way to the cuff, I bind of the cuff, but do not cut the yarn. I used your seaming technique and worked my way back up to the armhole. There I continue knitting in pattern across the front stitches of the yoke to the other arm. Same procedure here. When I finish the second sleeve, I continue with the back stitches to my BOR- marker, and hey presto can now go round and round in pattern to finish the body. The sleeves I put inside the sweater so they don't annoy me. Thanks again!

The best thing about your videos is that you use that yellow wool that shows what you are doing............on so many videos you can't see what they are doing because of the color............thank you from Italy.
It's funny that you mentioned the colour of the yarn. We constantly debate over it with my husband (who is my biggest supporter and my most sincere critic) - he feels the colour is too bright, and I like that colour. I'm glad you like it too :-)

Hi Maryna, thank you for your wonderful videos. How would I do this on a ribbed neckline edge, joining to the stockinette stitch of the neckline of a sweater? Both edges are live stitches on waste yarn.
I haven't tested this method to see how it works for joining live stitches, but my guess is it is better to use a crochet hook than a sewing needle. Or, you can use the Russian grafting method described at www.10rowsaday.com/russian-grafting to get neat look. Good luck!

I am knitting a sweater that asks you to connect the collar to the neck with a slip stitch crochet. The neck is bound off and the collar edge is stockinette. Do you think this would work and look good?
Hi Marcie. Yes, you can use this type of seam to join the collar to the neck, but keep in mind that this seam is not stretchy. Another way to join the collar is to use back stitch (the tutorial is at www.10rowsaday.com/versatile-knitting-seam). It works especially well when the stitches of the collar are not bound off. The seam will be neat and elastic. Good luck :-)

would you mind showing making a seam when you have 2 lace half to join?and you have uneven seams?
Ermenegilda, I haven't tried this seam on lace, but I think that to use it you should add one selvedge on each side of the work. You can make a slip stitch selvedge (slip the first stitch and purl the last stitch in each row) or work these stitches in stockinette. When it's time to seam, you can use this seam to join selvedges on each side of the work. All you need is one knit stitch on each side. The rest of the work could be in any stitch pattern. Good luck!
What difference would it make if you used both legs of each edge stitch?
It will create additional bulk. It some cases, it's a good thing, but more often than not less bulky seams look much nicer :-)

Would this work on garter stitch edges?
Could be tricky. Stitches of garter stitch are not as flat and visible as the ones worked in stockinette. I would add slip stitch selvedges or work one stitch at each side of the work in stockinette. Have fun :-)
Is there a way of doing a similar stitch when attaching The cast on or bind off edges together? Such as when making a blanket with knitted squares?
I haven't tested it yet, but I think we can use the same technique to join cast on and bind off edges stitch-for-stitch.
