  • Nate and Cordie from the Home Collective in Rochester MN give you the best guide to vinyl plank flooring! We'll compare the two main types: glue-down and click-together. Whether you're updating your space or just curious about your options, we've got you covered. 🏡
We'll explain the differences between the two, and why it's crucial to prep your floor properly, especially for click-together planks, to prevent any future issues like bouncing or damage. Also, we'll discuss the perks of glue-down planks, which are awesome for areas with lots of foot traffic or uneven floors because you can easily swap out damaged planks.
If you're thinking about new flooring, this video will give you a straightforward rundown to help you make an informed choice. For more info on our flooring options or if you're looking to transform your home, give us a call at 507-216-8787 to get a FREE design consult and bid!

Had mine for 10 years in my basement … no shrinking so far .. the click requires that the concrete basement floor must be absolutely flat otherwise it will unclick

@@bl9531 It’s probably better in basements because of the lack of sunlight and/or heat from sun. According to one video, exposing glue down planks to extensive windows on a main floor caused gaps where planks butted together but only at the ends.

@@1taylorgibson that could very well be the case. IMO it’s an easy choice in the case of basements because the alternatives are not great. We tried the click flooring and it was a disaster.
