You did it! I think you can be super proud of yourself for finishing the entire challenge - including the prompts that you weren't very excited about. Also, this is a bit random, but I think you are very good at where you place your drawings on the page and how large you draw them. I occasionally still misjudge how large or small things will turn out, or unintentionally end up with something off center. I'm consciously working from the outer edges inwards nowadays to try to avoid this. Your drawings all seem to sit in just the right spot!
Oh, thank you! One thing I do in terms of page position is to 'measure' what I'm drawing. The tried and true method of holding my thumb and forefinger up to see how big something is relative to other elements. It helps me to better visualize how the space on the page needs to be divided up. 😘
I did the same Inktober following Julia Henze. I too found that I like the architectural prompts better than the more organic prompts, but I i did improve my hatching and my perspecitve. I tried acrylic inks and the W&N drawing inks on the organic prompts and discovered that although the drawing inks are more vibrant than watercolor, In general I do not enjoy inks outside of a fountain or dip pen. So I appreciated this as a chance to use the acrylic inks I had never touched and I learned I don't need to buy anymore of those lol. Another thing I learned is that I see the genius of you choosing one medium to focus on each month. You don't become an expert (at least I most definitely did not) but you do get more comfortable with using that medium, So I have dedicated November to colored pencils.
I agree with you i do love a drawing only in black line! You are so good on urban sketching Evie 🤩 amazing, congratulations 👏👏👏 next year you can make your own prompt list! 😉
Ah thanks Teresa, I think it is what I'm most drawn to. 😍 And that is such a great idea re my own prompts list! 😉 Now I just need to remember that in September! 🤣
@@Myscribbletreehouse oh, I saw calmtober happening after I’d started inktober… it looks nice and… calm! 😆 In seriousness though, I am going to jot it in my diary for October next year. Might be more up my street. 😘
@eviedivadoodles I definitely want to do it again next year and still want to upload a quick flip through of my paintings. It certainly was less pressure than inktober.
Hello, like your artwork you did with Julia Henzes inktober. I used the original prompts and because of my almost fulltime job I did work on it in September already. I used the stuffed pink bunny from my daughter as model.
Oh, doing it in September sounds sensible.. and I love the idea of having a stuffed bunny as a model! I think I want to set up some 'still life' settings, and take some photos, ready for next year. 🤞
I did not do Inktober, which I regret. I'm struggling to get out of a slump and it would have been perfect to commit to drawing in ink once a day. I do have a question about what type of pens you mainly draw with. Things are finally slowing down and I may just start doing a drawing a day to get back into it. I use to draw all the time but have not done much since getting into mixed media.
@@deborahruth5072 you can make your an Inkvember instead? 😍 I used a mix of pens: a sailor Fude with platinum ink, a Kaweko fountain pen with that same ink, a Pentel brush pen, a tombow fudenosuke brush pen (soft tip and hard tip), a mix of micron pens… the colour pages were either ecoline pens, or Sennelier brush pens with their ink. But I feel you. It’s hard to stare at a white page and black ink when you’ve gotten used to pages of colour with mixed media. 😘

Wowzers Evie, 3 videos in 3 days. I’m impressed. Also impressed that you did a drawing every day while keeping up with everything else.
Thanks Kilby! Stunned myself to be honest, shan't manage it again for a while I'm sure! 😂
