Oh my goodness! Gotta LOVE catalyst wedges, I hope you enjoy the THREE you ended up getting! 😆 I've decided I will get up 30 minutes earlier tomorrow so that I can start painting the A3 piece I emailed you! 🤞
@ I replied with my own pictures and have subsequently started the first layers of watercolour. Now that there is something on the page, it doesn’t seem as intimidating. 😁
Thoroughly enjoyed the sketchbook tour. It is making me realize that to make some progress, it would be a good idea to sign up for a few patreons that do some teaching/painting sessions as a part of their membership. I am thrilled you got to see your friend who is going to be your maid of honor! That must have been fun! I especially liked your neocolor paintings and pencil drawings this time around and all the swatching (oh! heavenly!) I aspire to do faces as well as you do! (not comparing; just admiration!) Have a lovely week! See you in the next video!
Hey Crystal! YEs, I completely agree that being in a community where there is a teaching element is really beneficial. I read (maybe watched) someone say that they struggled to progress at all, and it was because they were stuck watching and learning from the same person / people. And as the person they were looking up to thought they were the 'bees knees' they never learned further and so never progressed. I think it's impossible to develop any skill if you're not always absorbing more knowledge about it. 😍 It was so lovely to see my maid of honor friend, though it was far too short a visit. Thank you for your lovely comments on the work too! Hope your week has been good? Big hugs! 😘
I love 'real' sketchbooks 😍 full of everything, mistakes included! I like that your sketchbooks are full of colour swatching (I relate so much with that 🥰) and your urban sketches + people are my favourite! You definitely should frame some of your works ❤ did your dad draw too? The sketch he did is so good! Have a nice weekend Evie 😘
Ah, thank you Teresa! Conor swatching will always be a part of my sketchbooks, I think it's how my brain 'gets' how color works.. 🤓 And thank you - I definitely feel like people and urban environments are what I'm leaning towards... though this evening I was walking outside and thought how wonderful the autumn trees would be to just stand and draw from... maybe tomorrow... 👀 Hope you've had a lovely weekend my friend! 😘❤️
Legit if you ever seriously thinking of creating a zine from some of your sketchbook work I would totally get it and I think loads of others would too But then again that could cause a creative outlet to be a chore so ??? Anyway as always so inspiring
Oh Angela-Marie, you are too kind! I have actually used one of my drawings (the red Monstera one) for the cover of a digital planner I sell. I think it looks nice. 😊
I like to watch these flip throughs.... waiting to see what you do with the oil pastels we bought. I have no idea what to do with them. Which paper??? Not water paper I'm thinking. Have fun.
If you ever can, would love to see you show that. I have lots of Canson XL. I find the Paul Rubens stick and oil pastels done actually dry … is this the case? Is there a finish? Or just waiting?
Thank you, Evie. I love your honesty, encouragement, joyful play, and your excitement with which you approach art.
Oh, such a lovely comment to read Gwen, thank you so much! ☺️❤️
💙 I love looking in your sketchbooks! I'd definitely love to see some of your fashion design stuff too!
Thanks Jaime! I'll make a note, would be fun to share that! 😍
I love a sketchbook flip through.
Oh and I forgot to say that I am headed to an art shop later today and a catalyst wedge is on my list of things to get!

Beautiful sketchbook tour! Loved your abstract colour pages & urban drawings!
Oh, thanks Sasha! I think it does show that I enjoy urban drawing most I think! 😘
Very beautiful sketch book tour
Thank you - glad that you enjoyed it! ❤️

Hey Jackie! I actually love using oil pastels on cold pressed water color paper! They 'stick' nicely to the Canson XL paper if you have some of that?
