I've been throwing wake baits 8 months out of the year for a long, long time. I always get laughed at when it's 50 degrees outside and I'm throwing a big wake bait. Then they shut up when that big 7lber comes up and slurps it. They don't realize the water is often Warner than the air. Sometimes if the wakers aren't getting it done, I'll throw a buzz toad or a buzzbait occasionally. But anytime I can fish the top 2 feet of the water column, I'm a happy guy. Lol

Well, don't write them off too quickly. Wake baits are an entire classification of bait, Scott just happens to fish and have confidence in the one that he helped design with Berkley. That's a little different than saying that the helicopter lure is the only thing you need in your tackle box. 😆

Exactly, there are no ''secret '' lures or techniques... which is why I don't fall for 'em. Now what am I gonna do with that closet full of lures ?
