Bought my first kvd 2.5 by mistake. It was on the rack with the square bills and that’s what I thought I was grabbing. I throw a spook normally in the situations you talked about and now I can’t wait to try this out!! Maybe fate?!! Thanks buddy for all you do. Quickly becoming my favorite UA-cam channel.

This is a bait I fell in love with last season- during fall, they eat it up. I like to replace the front hook with the vmc bladed treble- seems to both increase the bites I get as well as entice fish to hit the front hook instead of the rear. The Bomber Shallow A is probably my favorite- in baby bass. But the Strike King 2.5 is right up there with it, either in the Oyster color or bluegill. Wakes are a huge category though- I also like to throw the bigger, louder wakes for night fishing- or big rats on the river when they plow the fields. And when we hit the Tenn. river I throw the speed wakes like the old Wake Shad.

Excellent! Thank you for sharing all this great info! I haven't replaced the front treble yet. I will have to give that a try. They are definitely a blast to fish.

Wow that blades hook hack makes perfect sense, bluegill up eating minnow type deal and bass clean up from underneath

Good luck! I'm so jealous. All frozen here at home, but I'm heading south soon. That 2.5 is a great size.

Picked up a H2O Xpress. Limited crank bait success but pretty good topwater game last season. Really excited to throw this. Thanks Steve!

Love this technique, only own scott suggs berkley version( not fished yet, because not been to big lake in while) and small megabsss one. Caught fish on megabass one but get mostly followers. Will try your technique thanks Steve, also think on my small one I'm using to light of line, stays under water too deep

I saw you fishing out in front of that culvert. There’s a big skinny flat out in front of a 5 foot culvert leaving our lake. I have never been able to fish that other than a top water. I think I’ll give a wake bait a try there. I do have a couple in perch and blue gill. I got them after I saw Hank Parker using them. Thanks for the vids Steve.

You're Welcome. They sure come through skinny water with ease. Love Hank Parker!

I’ve found this work really well in gin clear water and with the loud rattle it will draw those fish as far as 20 ft. I hope it works again in a couple weeks for my club tourney because it’s sounding like the guys are not throwing this lure.

I agree! It can really draw fish from a distance. I love to use it in super clear water as well. Thank you for watching and sharing this great tip you have with all our viewers!
