This is one of those tropes where most people dislike it because its tricky to get right and can take a toxic turn haha but im happy you were able to learn a bit more about it 😄

Yea I can get this. It's not my top favorite either but I use it when necessary. I'm literally working on one as we speak because it matched the story idea in my head, but it can be so tricky to make it make sense and not seem malicious
