    The period of oscillation of a simple pendulum is T=(2pi)(L/g)^(1/2). Measured value of L is 1.0mfrom a meter scale having a minimum division of 1mm and the time of one complete oscillation is 1.95s measured with a stopwatch of 0.01s resolution. The percent error in the determination of g will be:
    A) 1.33%
    B) 1.30%
    C) 1.13%
    D) 1.03%

    How did you get the 0.1% and the 0.5 %?

    • @MichelvanBiezen
      @MichelvanBiezen  Рік тому +1

      .01 / 1.95 is about 0.005 which is about 0.5 % With multiplication and division, you must add % uncertainties % error in L / T^2 = % error in L + 2 x ( % error in T)

    excuse me Lecturer, could you show me how to calculate size and number of rope for lift or elevator, please?

    • @MichelvanBiezen
      @MichelvanBiezen  2 роки тому +2

      You must calculate the maximum load on the elevator when the elevator is accelerating upwards, and then you find a cable that is rated at 3 times that maximum limit.

      @@MichelvanBiezen could you write down for me please?

    • @MichelvanBiezen
      @MichelvanBiezen  2 роки тому +1

      Maximum load = mg + ma where m = mass of the elevator and the maximum mass of the content of the elevator combined. The cable rating is advertised by the cable manufacturer.

      In life things happen contrary to our wishes or our plans. That is inevitable and it happens to everyone and it has happened many times to me. Either we try again, or we try something else. In life, those who strive hard and work hard will be successful. Some doors close while others will open. The key is not to lament over the closed doors, but to embrace the open doors.
