    I'm watching a number of golf channels on UA-cam. This has to be one of the best, if not the best, Driver Series out there. Drew is amazing sharing different tips and feels. Thanks for making this series. I enjoy your other content too, but this is top notch.

    Hi Brendon
    Firstly I would like to thank you and Drew for this incredible content. Secondly, I would like to add that I an amateur like yourself and have been playing golf for more than 40 years and have played as a low single digit golfer for all but my first year of golf. Even though I have, I have struggled with the golf swing, which produced an early extension that has plagued my swing. This has brought me to also watch a lot of youtube videos to learn how this swing really works.
    After watching your slow mo swing at 7:09 ish, I was trying to work out why it look restrictive after you improved your backswing. Then, after rewatching Drew's slow mo swing (and it something that I have been working on) is on your downswing the critical difference is Drew rotates his hips into impact and through. Remember the time ( I think it was Mike Malaska, or was it Milo) was tossing balls to you and you were hitting them with the baseball bat. In that video you had a much better hip rotation on the downswing because you braced causing you to rotate coming through a lot flatter that looked more like what Drew produces on his downswing.
    Cheers
    Shaun

    • @shaunmckenner6966
      @shaunmckenner6966 2 роки тому

      Just further to this. Picture closing the door, where your right side (the the club is the door) which needs to rotate back to closing. But, where you would think of a normal door closing on the hinge, picture a pivot door and your left hip is the other side of the pivot and the centre of the hips is the pivot.
      When you supposed to be bracing the left side that's when the pivot comes into play, I see when you driving through the ball, it's like your trying to heave your right side (the door) through the ball ( the door frame).

    Brandon, Thank you for posting these videos with various teachers. I love how you ask questions from a non-professional , wisdom seeking perspective. You try to see/understand how good golfers get to where they are, not the results of where they are. The behind the scene processes. The body swinging motion that Drew described is SO VALUABLE to me. Thank you for sharing
    Too often the PGA pros have been blessed with a natural understanding of their swing motions, and they are unable to get the students to the same end results. I spent lots of money , about $1,200 and the almost 3 mos of lessons and videos w the local G*tec where the instructor showed the impact postures of the pro (with the left bud cheek shown at impact), but he could not get me there ), and the end result was terrible. I hooked everything and lost my confidence.

    This is some of your best content. Does he also manage his pressure this way on a shorter shot? like mb an 80 yd pitch to control lowpoint. Or is that not something you should be trying to do.

    Hi Guys, I know you have already filmed this video, just a quick point, Drew doesn't have a practice swing but you do Brandon, don't waste that energy . . save it for a real swing, then stand back and watch the numbers.

    • @maamold

    • @tinytoons2517
      @tinytoons2517 3 роки тому

      @@arjanpetersen I disagree, they are not normal swings, there at max speed, that practice swing could potentially be the fastest swing.

    • @penguingolf2805
      @penguingolf2805 3 роки тому

      Interesting point.
      Mike M said that a good way to focus on course is to make a good practice swing and simply reproduce it on the actual swing.
      Okay, so there’s a difference when trying to break speed records. Just from my gut feeling it just may be so that the expended energy of the practice swing may detract from the record breaking attempt immediately thereafter.
      BTW Mike’s advice works well but it feels to me that making that great practice swing is one less I’ll make at the ball. I’ve practiced standard full swings enough that I know what I want to do and know that I can do it most of the time. I can screw it up with or without the practice swing.

    hey Brandon at 6:20 when drew says push more , i think he means if you straighten the right leg in the backswing this will accomplish getting taller and pushing at the same time, i see that you don't always do this,

    Vertical forces are released earlier with driver vs irons. Something to keep in mind.

      what does that mean exactly?

    • @LJ-ig5sl
      @LJ-ig5sl 3 роки тому

      Longer club like the driver hitting slightly up or level has to be released sooner then an iron. Can’t afford to stay down into the ground for too long with the driver or else you chunk it. Have to get into the ground fast and out fast with an earlier release of the wrists on the downswing.

    Can't help thinking that you would be better sorting out the small errors in your swing before chasing speed. A better swing would give you more speed (plus accuracy) and put you in a better position to look for even greater speed if that was important to you.

    I can understand how smash factor and CH speed is kool ect these days. I just don't understand how that makes someone be better @ golf . I have never been a long ball hitter, back in the 80s and 90s if I hit the driver 260 that was good for me and almost everyone I played with hit it farther. And another thing, I never shot a course record hitting the ball at my best , not one of them. I had a 5 foot putt for birdie on hole 18 when I shot 59 and missed that putt. Those days have nothing to do with hitting it 300 or how high my smash factor was its about ..............being better @ golf.

    • @joerodriguez325
      @joerodriguez325 3 роки тому

      The higher the smash factor the better the strike, so it is just used as a strike indication and efficiency of the player (ball speed divided by club head speed)

      @@BEBETTERGOLF great question, I wish I knew LOL. There were many times it felt I struck the ball as good as I could and should have shot 65 but it came out being 71 , but hey, the putts didn't fall, or I didn't get up and down on a par 5 for birdie ect. I will say this.................Not one time was it for a lack of smash factor or distance off the tee. to be honest I probably carried the ball 250ish during my playing days on 7000 or 7200 ish golf courses.

      @@BEBETTERGOLF I remember playing a money game with John Daley a couple of months before he won the PGA championship. We were on a Par 3 in Mississippi , it was 234 yds to the best of my recollection. He pull out a 4 iron with real balata golf balls and weak lofts back then.....................now that is distance ! I had a persimmon Ram golf 3 wood with aluminum inserts in my hand that day, but there were days in the winter or a slight wind against me I would have stripe a held off driver on that hole . LOL
