OK not only do I love your videos, but you cut in not just a scene from Dr Who regarding the glasses, but a scene from the David Tenant fan film, Time Crash, or should I say David Tenant loves his father in law who is his favorite Dr short. Well played sir, well played.
You also forgot to mention the scene where Aida and Alice fight, it's from the Resident Evil 4 game between Leon and Aida! Are you making a review on RE The final chapter!?
i agree wholeheartedly with you - The first is the only real Resident Evil for me. I have fond memories of taking off all the lights and enjoying it. There was a deep charm to it that is still there today and it was written and acted well and though super simple, didnt try to be anything too crazy to compensate. This made it the best. It manages to have an 'indie film' atmosphere while also being a reasonably 'big' movie.
I have a lot to say about how much they fucked up leon. When He told Alice to leave the little girl, I almost screamed!! Leon would never abandon someone who's in danger or needs help. In RE6 Leon drops his important mission to help a senator find his daughter, and he even attempts to try and save a couple of college students in a dorm. He will always help people who need it. And plus why did he grab Ada's leg? It makes no sense. In the games, and in the much better CG films( which i own and love dearly btw(and are also canon to the games)) Leon and Ada do do a little flirting but nothing too serious, but they always had chemistry, its just they always met in bad situations which never let them exploit it, but Leon would never full on do that, Ada is more flirtatious then he ever was, And even they fucked up Ada as well. Im not saying that the actor sucks, I'm sure he did the best that he could with the shit material he had to work with. But hey at least he looked the part. ;(
+Rigor Mortis They just did it to make Luther look more human that Leon so we would be more sad when he died. Which he did about five minutes later.. Pointless.
+Trencher1375 I know. But Just looking back on Leon's games and the things that he went through in them, makes me really hate his betrayel in this film. I swear in the 6th film if Leon and Claire know each other, I'm going to be pissed off, since in this story line, they don't have the back story of raccoon city.
Are we looking for a plot here...this isnt even Leon , its a parody porn star with Leon's clothes and haircut with no backstory whatsoever. Still watchign those shitty movies?
TrueGeek'sChannel It still amazes me how people like these movies. They're so insulting to the original games. And it hurts even worse because adapting the games into live action movies would actually make for some fucking awesome films. Sure you'd have to modernize them a little but the formula is set and it could kick ass.
Th... That's Leon? Oh God, what did they do to you my sunshine boy...! Edit: It's been a year. Or two, I guess. And watching this again, I'm angry how they fucked up legit every RE character, now that I've played all the games and know what's going on. Can't wait for the reboots to completely erase these films from existence, just like Ghostbusters Afterlife will likely do with Ghostbusters 2016.
@@deusdeaconReviews lol I figured! I just find the idea of living in a world where we don’t have to worry about another one of these fucking awful movies to be funny. Great video! I’m looking forward to watching more of your stuff!
watching these reviews gives me a new appreciation for Michael Bay. No arguing that Bay's movies are cluttered piles of shit that connect visuals, but those visuals (while not good) look like somebody worked on them. Even Michael bay can shoehorn some trite themes into his storyboards.(America is super duper, loser can save the day and get the subservient hot girl, if you're a bad boy you get punished) I get pissed at the messages in Bay films, but at least they have messages. I can't think of one message in any of Anderson's movies. Even Bay can set up a love story (nomatter how mysoginist) but you see Anderson trying and failing to set up character arches, world building etc. he's far worse than Bay.
I'm wondering what exactly is so special about Rain, Carlos and One that Umbrella is going through the trouble of making hundreds of clones of them? All as far as I can tell, they were just several of the hundreds of expendable soldiers working for the company. What does Umbrella need their clones for? Also, if the Red Queen is holding Alice captive, why does it have a random slider with perfectly placed clothing there just for Alice? Was the Red Queen planning to release her at some point?
well not to give the film too much or any credit i thought they were trying to break her mentally and then control her with those robot bugs so the clothes were that i assume, also the reason why they cloned the soldiers from the first film, it's actually a little known fact that umbrella runs on pure refined fan-service.
Check out the book series by S D Perry, it with the books makes the 3-6th movies more relatable to the video game series. Although the movies are not and do not follow the video games at all, been a fan since the 2nd game and played all games except last one, the movie franchise should have went parallel with the games and created a new storyline to explain Alice. Just personal opinion.
lmao, in the game to get the beetle off Jill my friends and I would make it a point to shoot it with hand-cannons.....it wasn't quite as simple as just yanking it off in 1 pull
Am I missing a movie? I've watched this movie and "The Final Chapter" and I've got a question. Where is that fight with the monster that are surrounding Washington? Did they just disappear? Was there an epic fight that I've missed completely? Maybe I should drink less, so I could keep with the plot of these movies?
Did anyone else happen to panic, grab every weapon and sharp object they could find, and run out of the room when Andrew announced the nightmarish scenario of these movies becoming self aware? I did.
The main thing I've got from watching these again is that Andersons way of writing is very clearly "things happen cos I think it's cool", with no reasoning or cohesion to anything else ever considered. So many parts of these films even a tiny amount of thought ruins. Start for example, why was she freed? why activate lasers to chase her and not lock the door? why activate the underground desks? why have underground desks? where was Ada hiding? why have guns in a room of office works?. It's literally all "rule of cool" and nothing more, except it isn't cool it's just childish and stupid.
I find it funny how flambouyant Unbrella is with their bases xD why do they feel the need to hide the computer desk until someone appears in the room? the funny part is, the employees are in there when the desks appear xD so, they have to wait until someone cames into the room to get out and take some fresh air?XD because when Aida got there to kill them, it doesn't appear to be the case, or did Aida hid the desks to surprise the next person to get in there just for funsies? whatever the case it doesn't make any sense xDD
My favorite guilty pleasure series. Everything you're saying about these films is true. I can't say otherwise. But I still enjoy them. I find them entertaining if nothing else. Although I do think the first two films are actually good.
I thought it was pretty dumb to be interrogating Alice in a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE. And Jill’s asking why Alice betrayed Umbrella. Hmm, let me think; because they were doing unethical experiments? Because they made her fight for her life against Nemesis? Because they did experiments on her, making her a superpowered freak? Because they put mind control on her and tried to have her killed in the desert? Because they made clones of her?Because Wesker tried to eat her? TAKE A FUCKING GUESS! Also, Idk what the purpose was for the Red Queen to keep Alice alive. But if it needs her for something, why didn’t it place a red beetle on her?
I remember watching this movie and laughing when the no name guy gets killed by a zombie with a chainsaw. It was crazy to see all these zombies have guns and this guy gets killed by a saw like wtf were they smoking, snorting , and drinking writing that scene. Also when she left the girl in the after being saved by her I was damn is she the hero or not.
I liked the first 3, I still watched 4 & 5, but haven't seen The Final Chapter yet. 4 was tolerable, but confusing bc it brought in things that hadn't been explained in previous movies. 5 was garbage. I don't have high hopes for 6.
I noticed something in this movie that contradicts the second movie. One of the newspapers in Jill's apartment in 2 says Leon died, But he's still alive and doesn't react to his "former partner" Jill.
I have grown tired of this series, mainly due to the fact that Paul W.S. Anderson does not even attempt to establish some form of continuity within them. Some characters end up missing after appearing in the previous film, Arcadia is set up as a safe haven, only to then be destroyed when the next film starts, and many other issues. And _Retribution_ is just filler, designed to act as a middle chapter to set up a huge final battle for the next film.
Yes, and to all the assholes that complain about Star Wars, I officially tell them, THIS is what retconning past movies out of existence looks like. Anderson is exactly what George Lucas, J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson are accused of being, but aren't actually, because these mouthbreathers can't be bothered to look past the surface. They also apparently can't read subtext or pay attention to dialogue or visuals that explain things, even if it's more implicit than they'd prefer, most notably elements like the cloning in The Rise of Skywalker. I caught that immediately in the theater, and it was set up without having to read the novelization, because I don't need things prechewed for me. Anderson, however, is just a total dudebro fanboy who clearly does like a lot of movies, because he rips them off, but he only rips off because the visuals were cool, he doesn't understand what the context of the scene he's using actually sets up or represents. A prime example is the Licker pod sequence, clearly ripped off from Aliens. But the xenomorphs are firmly established in what they're doing, especially if you use the special edition of the original movie that shows Dallas meeting the same fate, then follow it with Jim Cameron's director's cut. Plus, the dynamics of Ripley's relationship with Newt are clearly defined, and we actually have a reason to care and support Ripley going back for her. Anderson doesn't understand any of that and just shoehorns it in here, even though it completely breaks with Lickers' behavior. Does Anderson somehow actually believe that he's connecting the movies together in a logical manner? Does he have brain damage, I legitimately wonder. Or does he just not give a shit and does whatever the fuck he feels like?
surprised you didnt bother to mention that apparently the actor for ada was dubbed over with the actual voice actress for ada in the games, why they bothered just to make her closer to the character I dont know, hell if a video game movie could be made with skill dubbing over actors with the characters voice actors might actually be a neat bit of fan service not to mention very damn impressive if it could be pulled off relatively seamlessly
Ya know, I kinda hate to admit it... but I like Retribution. In all honesty out of all the RE movies, this one feels like a video game, you got the hub, you got large sprawling testing facility's, this is the kind of stuff Umbrella in the game would do, or have it be some weird training facility for their merc squads now that they no longer need to market the virus. Plus the cloning facility could probably be revamped to help repopulate the world after this is all over. After finishing it I honestly wanted a video game version of this movie to play through.
By the fourth film, I was already asking why ANYONE would continue working for Umbrella during a zombie apocalypse? It would be stupidly pointless if it was for money. Even if it was for shelter against the virus, seeing how the big bosses kill their men on a whim and there's Alice causing destruction in their bases, I think I'd be better off taking my chances on the surface.
Looking forward to the Final Chapter review. I'm really hoping they won't screw up the reboot, but chances are they will just end up just as bad looking at how much money even Final Chapter made.
So not gonna lie, after you said that Luther was going with Alice, I immediately thought "No he's not". And yes, I know this is a video multiple years old now, but I'm still going to put this comment here just because of how hilarious ,personally, it was for my thought and what happened to coincide with each other in the way they did.
I mean yes it's stupid that every guard is tied into the power supply... but more stupid I'd say is why did they put the random hero they made up for some reason in a cell with an outfit and set the doors to open if the power goes out instead of automatically seal tighter? Is that how all prisons are? if the power goes out every single cell is set to instantly open? I mean possibly in case of a fire but as Umbrella have proven to not give a shit about people and are the bad guys I doubt they had somebody designing this base who thought "oh shit.. I know we are using this prison to experiment on monsters and shit, but we should make sure the doors open if the power goes out, we don't want to breach local safety laws now do we"
You forgot to mention a very stupid scene where after Wesker explains everything to Alice, she tries to shoot the windows to escape, but before she could, Ada basically tells her, to quote Phelous, "HEY, ACTUALLY LOOK OUT THEM. IT'S WATER OUT THERE. WE ARE UNDERWATER. DON'T DO THAT, OR WE WILL DIE."
It's almost seemed like Anderson was only writing and directing these shitty movies to keep his wife relevant. Unfortunately, it failed. She's irrelevant in my opinion. She was pretty good back before these RE movies fucked her career over. And I won't forget about that God awful Ultraviolet movie. Damn that movie was so bad. I hated it.
For the first time this thought popped into my head. I know this movie series is as dumb as its writer/director but....If these are clones of the people from the first few movies how come they are aged. I get that the actors have aged (although Michelle Rodriguez looks virtually the same now) but why are Carlos and Cubed guys clones older? They would have got their DNA in theory, something like 3 years ago from the time of this movies timeline at minimum. Cubed guy and Rodriguez over 5 years ago. All the CG Paul "Waste of Space" Anderson uses in these movies and he didn't think to use it to de-age the actors........wait how did they get Carlos's DNA to clone him? He died in an explosion and was never captured by Umbrella? Cubed guy and Rodriguez makes sense. But Carlos makes no sense. What a fucking mongoloid Anderson is.
Although I disliked all the movies after the first one, this movie had me hyped for the next one cuz I thought it would start off where this one left off and had a big movie blockbuster fight but holy shit was I disappointed from the final chapter which is saying a lot since these movies are pretty much made to disappoint
God it's hard to watch all these reviews 1 after another, not because they are bad but because the films are so awful and dumb that I'm actually getting annoyed at how shit they are and questioning how anything Hollywood makes can be taken seriously when he's super successful and makes films that could easily be made by a programme trained with basic machine learning as it's so basic with such huge plot and logical flaws. The guy just seems like a creepy weirdo with no talent but that understands how dumb the majority of the people who watch films are.
There is no way that Leon S. Kennedy would abandon a child to be killed, even if said child was kidnapped by a giant Licker. They took the time to learn character names from the games and took a quick glimpse at what they looked like, but that's all they fucking did lol
Personally I love these films I'm 23 so I was little when these films came out and I've grown up with the character Alice in my life and view her as a modern ripely badass no matter what it still had the atmosphere of the games sure they're lacking in writing but they're moments where the films shines! My favorite of them all is the 2nd film for which it has beautiful recreated scenes from the games intro re3, but that's just me and I'm sad to see this film series end after so many years being apart of my childhood
Yes, You are correct alice is a modern day Ripley, just with out the personality, Nuanced character, Cleverly written dialogue, actions, plots and situations to be placed in, characters to interact with and decent actress playing her, But honestly apart from that you are completely right.
Speaking of, do you plan to review Alien 3 and Resurrection? Also, are you looking forward to the Neill Blomkamp film like I am?P.S. I'm sure you know by now that Wesker will of course betray Alice in the "Final Chapter" and leave them to dry again, Claire is back, but no one else, as we have to have new characters, and the Red Queen is now played by Andeson and Mila Jovovich's eldest daughter. So Anderson's ego hand job holds no boundaries.
I can't beleive the series went full Sci Fi without actually using the actual Bioweapon creatures like the plants, Hunters, Tyrants (T IN T VIRUS STANDS FOR TYRANT< ANDERSON!!!) or re-using nemesis! INstead 2 Axemen!?
this isnt even scifi...scifi explains things...what did this movie explained..they even got the plaga in there..without...anyone telling what they are...what a mess...
IIRC they changed the red queens actress so Anderson could put his and Jovovich's daughter in the role.

Will u do a review on one of the original Resident Evil game trilogy’s 1 - 3
: )
We think you might have good outlook : )
Thanx
I dont review video games
Fair enough was only throwing into suggestion box 👍
As we enjoyed couple of your movie reviews 👍 including the RE series reviews and others.......
surprised you didnt bother to mention that apparently the actor for ada was dubbed over with the actual voice actress for ada in the games, why they bothered just to make her closer to the character I dont know, hell if a video game movie could be made with skill dubbing over actors with the characters voice actors might actually be a neat bit of fan service not to mention very damn impressive if it could be pulled off relatively seamlessly
I pretty much benged through all the Resident Evil reviews... great stuff, and funny too... moving on to other of your videos...
I also reviewed the final chapter the movie after this one, just in case you didn’t see that one
Wow, thanks for answering... and yeah, I'm gonna watch it too... again, great job on your reviews...
This film was years ahead of it's time, creating an A.I.-written script a decade before ChatGPT was invented.
i think it should be remade, i think leonardo decaprio would make a great leon
Looking forward to the Final Chapter review.
I'm really hoping they won't screw up the reboot, but chances are they will just end up just as bad looking at how much money even Final Chapter made.
Gotta update this list with the new RE movies. :p
There is one more movie
I know we are using this prison to experiment on monsters and shit, but we should make sure the doors open if the power goes out, we don't want to breach local safety laws now do we"
oh come on, you know Leon got himself some of that Aida pie...you know it!
I love how you have a crossbow lying around in your house
I genuinely want to know why they keep getting this guy to make movies.
cause they sell very well in china
I love these reviews !!!!😄😄😄😄😄
I hated it.
This franchise is my guilty pleasure
If you hated the discontinuity of this series you must have fucking loved the final chapter.
At this point, how can Umbrella earn money or dividends if the economy is--for the lack of word for it--Dead?
Why doesn't this channel have 1 million+ subs? So awesome!
Wish I knew, Thanks for watching really appreciate it
"...seamless retcon." Never has such a thing exitsted in this franchise...LMFAO
I saw this movie and it hurt but the volume of the theater was so hi that it also hurt like h.
The guy just seems like a creepy weirdo with no talent but that understands how dumb the majority of the people who watch films are.
you need to do the final chapter review
when's MAH... i mean "The Final Chapter"
I made a new song in honor of this movie.
Pointlesssssss
This movie was pointlessssss
So very much pointless!
It was a waste of your time!
Alice has amnesia of the previous movies it seems
I feel bad for making my gf watch this with me in the theater. Even for me this was bad and I genuinely enjoy the Matrix sequels.
the only thin i liked from the other movies is tbh the music its so off putting
Sad to say there one more movie
where is she getting these matrix outfits? can she sew?
Please leave ripely and that amazing franchise out of this
James Moseley Alice is modern ripely come at me bro!
Yes, You are correct alice is a modern day Ripley, just with out the personality, Nuanced character, Cleverly written dialogue, actions, plots and situations to be placed in, characters to interact with and decent actress playing her, But honestly apart from that you are completely right.
Deusdaecon Reviews eh I wouldn't say that she has personality here and there but I blame the writer for that not Mila
Poo movie when it was on channel four couldn't even watch it all it was so bad
