Yeah they are playing pretty cool stuff too though, defiantly bummed that she's not playing with Forest rice anymore but I get it, sort of is what it is.
1) the bassist is chewin it! Just killer tight playing and awesome tone 2) the switch from 4/4 to 5/4 back to 4/4 is crazy solid 3) very well written song
@@NickHarman I was being sarcastic but in this case I thought the bass level was fine. That is some tricky timing. I am a pro bass player myself and I can't stand when the bass is buried. Not to say too much is good.
No disrespect to the drummer, Jessica, but Forrest plays with such dynamics that Jessica just powerhouses through... To each their own but yeah, I prefer Forrest's playthrough on the Meinl channel... you'll get what I mean
I found this song because it was playing at universal studios. I was so surprised to hear the noodily guitar and interesting rhythms that it made me feel like whoever was controlling the music wanted to get away with playing "his" type of music while still not offending the ears of the average theme park attendee lol.
Unbelievable. The last minute was incredible. I think the sound guy needs to mix u more forward when ur sound is more sparse and ur tone is thinner. It wouldnt hurt the cresciendo at all. I love it. again. i really love it.
Yvette. are u triggering synth patches with ur foot. it really fills out the sound. i just listned againwith head phones and it does sound more balanced. i love LOVLE LOVE u
This is really cool…they’ve taken many of the elements of modern prog and morphed it into a cleaner, jammier style. This bassist is a monster, too…goddamn…
apparently fine nowadays, the guitar is so thin even with the delays they'd have no lift in the 'chorus' without it. The double stop at 2:09 is fishy also there might even be clean guitar overdubs in the backing.
She’s my favorite contemporary guitarist! My only problem with this style of music is pretty much once you’ve heard her most popular song, you’ve heard them all.
Quite suprised to see a totally new lineup, but it still sounds exactly like Yvette's writing. I've seen Covet a few times in Southern CA, and I remember feeling kind of surprised at the band's social dynamic, how they did the crowd work, that kind of thing. The whole audience, like all of us, was obsessed with Yvette... we were all there to see Yvette, but the stuff going on onstage didn't really reflect that. It looks like there was a acrimony in the old lineup, things were not smooth. Hopefully this is a fresh start for everyone.
Guitar tone is too thin sounding, older stuff has better tone, energy an was more catchy imo. But I respect bands trying new things an doing what they want.
Yvette has been public about the fact that she didn't feel safe around her band mates and the circumstances/actions that led to that. In itself that she made her decision is amazing. Covet 4ever
Well, that's pretty good. But something just seems to be missing, and I'm not sure exactly what. I could say that it's missing vocals and harmonies, but that's kind of cheating, especially if they're deliberately trying to be instrumental. But even a solo instrument on top of this could be very good.
They do have songs with vocals too, and personally I prefer those over the instrumentals - I get what you mean by "something missing". Still find it a bit harsh to say that - mostly they just have a sound dominated by very unusual guitar parts, so no point in comparing what they have or don't have compared to a typical rock band. If anything, I'd criticize that she too much jumps to and fro on the guitar all the time, and never quite commits to a clear identifiable line.
Yvette has basically tried to destroy the reputation of every single person who has been her former bandmate. This says a lot about her actual personality.
She's a gift.
Amazing guitar work from Yvette! Great stuff.
She makes art that just makes me want to live
Yvette's guitarwork is so virtuosistic, and the rest of the band is not only making a "backing track", the 3 of them fit so damm well together
Learned from male teaches and techniques.

Three piece! The past and the future of popular beat music. In my humble. Great stuff.
Going to bed, but definitely waking myself up into the new day with this. Love y'all peeps, no matter the mood 💜.

Favorite Covet tune, one of my top favorite tunes of all time
Seriously awesome tone from the bassist!
Thank you for uploading this video.
I love Yvette so much. I wish I could have been there. They look like they're having so much fun.

Miss the old drummer
Forest rules :(
she has rob scallon's drummer now. good replacement
nah
My brain wasn't working so I clicked expecting a cover of the 90s pop hit "Lovefool"
so good
That feeling and instruments, all in one! J'aime!
I like how the guitar sparkles with the movement, really acts as a type of love “spell”

Does the band use some prerecorded or sequenced synth tracks? There’s more going on sonically than just the 3 in the band.

New female drummer ? Who is is ???
When did the drummer become a chick? Is it? If that's not the original drummer, they killed it.
This lady and her band need to do a crossover with Incubus like *RIGHT NOW!*
Incubus was also playing in Indi on this night.
This mix needs more guitar! Louder!

It's not a bad song, but it definitely feels sterile and like it's missing a certain je ne sais quoi

This is such a cool song though
Haters/unwanted crits gotta get a hobby
new band feels sterile and music that once had energy and emotion now sounds like midi. good job yvette
Agreed, with Adamiak and Grimshaw the band was really shaping up to be something special
