    I used the twisted loop last year camping… worked great! Now to go set up my tarp!

    Great points, Blackie!
    I would insist you should use bank line if you are going to do a lark's head... it keeps it's shape and tends to bind to itself where paracord will likely slip off BUT... if you tie a loop THROUGH the eyelet, it can't come off alone.

      I’ve done this for years but I pass the loop back through itself and cinch it to the grommets. They stay put on the tarp that way.

    While this is a neat trick/tip, I've been thinking of using the quick tie guy-line attached to the tarp with the one bowline attached to the grommet. IT should be fairly quick to stake and go. Waiting for my new emergency shelter to come in to set up.

      Good question! i would use a V fire to get started then change it over to a siberian log fire for sleeping ..

    Hi Blackie, I've been hearing people talking about something called a 7 trash bag system for survival/bushcraft. Do you know anything about it?

      not off the top of my head i know of a sysyatem that was put out by ranger rick of ranger ricks tips and tricks to wrap them around a walking staff and have many uses for the drum liners shelter bed rain gear ect
