This is the kind of project that is only limited by the time you are willing to invest in improving it. Another interesting "Down & Dirty," Blackie.
very true it can be made to serve a over night camp or made from better stuff to last for yrs
Spectacular. I never would have thought of something like this. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Like this idea so much. Heading outside to see if I can do this in backyard, but have add value of some snow in Atlanta.
Great idea…!
Thank you! 😊
You're really neat project today I made my first bow and drill here in Texas to start a fire with out of Chinaberry old tree that was down in the back of my yard really neat project I just wonder if you ever tried that bow and drill stuff it was really hard but I got a good Amber and it started smoking and I was really surprised I just didn't have my bundle ready real good
I did bow drill and other methods in the past .. when I was learning from a old woodsman friend of mine he said on one of our week long camping trips that I was going to make the lunch time fire with a bow drill set I had to make from scratch each time so for 7 days in a row I would gather and create a bow drill set make a ember light the fire and then burn that set to make lunch time coffee... when on the 7th day I can completed the lunch fire and I cast the set into the flame my old woodsman friend asked now what have you learned of primitive fire making.. and I responded "THAT I WILL CARRY A BIC LIGHTER IN MY POCKET THE REST OF MY LIFE ! " LOL

thanks
Great idea but I have an improvement do the 4 stick. Like the bottom higher up also gives a place to hang towels rags socks
VERY TRUE
Sweet! Thanks!!!
No problem!
Love it!
So glad!
Gotta ask: What kind of hatchet are you using? Just ordered myself up a Hultafor Hultan & now I'm wondering if the 1 lb. head will be heavy enough as a camp/ house hatchet (light use)? Haven't got it yet & I guess time will tell...
condor or one of the marbles made by condor works well as a crafting hatchet
I can see ppl laffin... until you need it. Trust me, you will. Yes, absolutely a must need. The only thing I could add is embers to aid in the drying and a good scrub out with one of them nylon scratchy pads. OOOP's didn't pack one? No prob... a handful of twigs and leaves does wonders. And I bet this will shoot off a series of how to clean camp gear.
yep i like to take broom sage and bind it with bank like cut the ends off so its like 6 inch long and you have a good pot scrubber
@@BLACKIETHOMAS Yeppers, use what have on hand. It's there. Apply common sense and viola, job get's done.
Hi are you going to be apart of the world bivy record ?
How about a berry?
lol there are lots of those on youtube
Woodcraft ❗thnxs
my pleasure
Probably not real wind friendly . Why not just string a line and use something like plastic shower curtain hooks and hang everything eye high on ?.
thats one way this is to be quick and handy near the fire and the wash bowl to do the dishes will be close to it
