That mule tape is great because it bites and holds well and is strong, and it slacks up easy when you tear a knot down , you don’t have to sit there and pick out your knots with a tent peg. Have a great weekend sir!
Hi Blackie! My favorite way to practice knots is not unlike how I like to sharpen knives or whittle, I like to do these chores with at least one other person while having a conversation. Practice, for me, will be a lifelong thing. I surely appreciate you, friend.
Sr. I have to say: Thank you for being a REAL knowledgeable outdoorsman here on UA-cam! Not just because of this video, of course, but this last few weeks I learned more from your channel then ever before. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and God bless you and your family 💪🏼👊🏼
Blackie , Great Video and Outstanding Information, Thanks For Sharing Great Tip and Trick , always thinking and don't mind teaching all of us. Thanks Again for Sharing Your Time and Knowledge and Wisdom and Passing On the Craft. Yes You Are The Master Woodsman and Buschcrafter. Tim L.
Thanks for another great video. I always love learning new knots. We had a new guy start work last week. We was talking and I had a rope out practicing. I told him what knot it was. He said was you a Boy Scout ? I told him I was but I didn't learn it there. I told him I watch UA-cam channels and learn them. I have learned many that help me in my daily life. We can always learn more.
Please do more of these instructional vids. Im a young guy who never had a father figure to teach me these valuable life skills. Im not lazy and i have a want to be the best possible version of myself, including learning all these skills that alot of us never had the opportunity to learn. iIwish there was an adult version of the boy scouts, not full on military, but a program us young men could do to catch up.
I've never noticed you using mule tape before Blackie. How would you rank it against the common 550 cord? I feel that they both have their places, but for hanging body weight, or heavy loads, I do like mule tape. For standard carrying in kits, I usually go with the lighter and smaller 550 cord.
i am the same way i use 550 for 90% of my load bearing work but i had a supply of mule tape and it is far stronger so i thought i would show it a bit thanks for watching
I think we will just call it a " THOMAS KNOT" , Hey, I'm trying to give you street creds here, for the younger crowd.LMAO. Or the " BLACKIE KNOT" For us older kids.Roflmao
have a great weekend everyone

Great knot, love to see these and remind myself of how to do them.
If you don't use it, you lose it, so I appreciate the refresh.

Mule tape is 1.800 lbs tensile. 550 is like 250 I've pulled cars with mule
