Come along as I transform my Sunroom into a Witch's Cottage with dark academia elements. Filling the space with vintage books, antique medicine bottles, moody florals, and antiques thrifted treasures. I have a dark brown fire place with dark green and cream tiles and I’ve never known how to decorate it for halloween but this is perfect
I love authentic Halloween decor. Now that my kids are getting older I'm donating my plastic spooky cute decor and slowly building my collection of thrifted and antique pieces to DIY for this kind of decor. Much more unique than mass produced plastic junk. Thanks for the inspiration!

adorable. my parents decorate their great room, where all the company gathers, for all the seasons & special holidays, ie. Christmas Easter & Halloween...they painted their walls in that room like a grey green. its a light soft calm color & can be made to look moody or bright depending on all the decor & window treatments they use. wall color makes a room...more.
don't be afraid to use wallpaper also. it can create a whole new ambience from scenic, floral, architectural... I just find it so satisfying & fun to change up colors in a room . I do love to paint myself & need a bit of help from hy hero husband to get the wallpaper even...lol. but yes, ur home should be ur happy place & my mood changes so does my decor..

Krysta, love the witch's cottage. I'm especially loving the dark moodiness of the colors you've chosen. Love them so much that I'm trying to work out a "moody" color scheme in my kitchen hoosier cabinet. Thinking amber bottles , pine branches and narrow burgundy velvet ribbon. Looks great in my mind but, we'll see. Very hard to get any pinterest vignettes/ideas to inspire me. I do have time!!

I absolutely love this it's not hokey or too Halloweeny and could live with most of it throughout yr. I'm redoing my library and want something between a rustic English/Scottish theme mixed hunt and cabin with some elements of the dark academia and whimsical. Can't wait to share when done.
