I hope you enjoyed seeing the main areas of the house get a spooky makeover! More Halloween fun to come including our big Sunroom Halloween Decorate and Tablescape! 💀🖤
I’m so happy to see that I’m not the only one who decorates with antique and thrifted items and furniture…therefore, I find holiday decorations at antique shops to add to my Victorian flair in our home. I do get some things from chain stores but my antiques overpower our home
Memories… my son telling me last year the Skeleton I would put in the bathtub every October would scare the bejeezies out of him every time he walked in there. 😂 He’s 27 now and just bought his own house. I’m going to have his roommate put my skeleton in their bathtub one day while he’s at work… 🤭 I knew this video would be Great! Awesome job!!
You are so blessed to live in this amazing old home. All the wood trim and details and windows lend itself so well to your style and vision. I think a little water with red food coloring in a few of the goblets on your drink station would look so good.... especially at night with the fairy lights glowing underneath .
Hi my name is kate but I use my husband's account lol, I have been watching you for a while now and I love all what you do but the spooky stuff if my favourite, I only started to decorate for halloween a couple of years ago, in england people didn't really do much for halloween but fot the last few years its started to take off and you can buy decor now ,I just did my living room last year but after watching your channel I am going to try and do a table scape and my sideboard, it won't be anywhere near as good as you but I am going to give it good go lol,I have been getting loads of books from my local charity shops ,they have lots of black, blue, green and red books but no brown. Your piano looking really spooky, do you hear music in the middle of the night lol,I am going to bed now but I may sleep with the light on tonight lol, thanks for the great channel, kate.🤗🎃👻💀☠🖤
Hi Kate!! How fun that it’s becoming a thing in your area so you can join in on the spooky fun!! How’s the thrifting there, are you able to find great antiques in expensively or are they pricey? I’m always interested to hear how it is other places! Thankfully we’ve not heard the piano in the middle of the night… yet anyway. 👻🖤
Hi,I live in a little market town ,a short drive to newark and lincoln and they have some nice antiques and fairs but they are expensive, we don't really have garage sales,we have carboot sales and flea market, they are better and the charity shops have old but not really antiques, so I do my best with what I can find, the cost of living has gone up so much ,I don't think people will buying we are all worried about our gas and electric bills, it's a good job I have lots of candles to burn because I may be living like a Victorian this winter lol. I look forward to seeing what you do next, thanks kate. 🤗🖤
Scotch tabs. They are archival, photo safe and reusable. I use them exclusively for mounting professional photographs and prints, as well as adhering posters directly on the wall. No need to use mod podge and limit what you can do with the art down the road.
YES!! I am OBSESSED with phone nooks. The little niches in the hallway. In our forever home if there is no phone nook, I will put one in. They’re a GENIUS idea really. Wire or rewire to make it a charging station and have a landline run too. I love the little things that were considered “gotta haves” back in the day but we do t use now but we should. Lazy Susan’s, built in ironing boards and drying racks, the little hidden things in 1950’s (ish) kitchens to make them seem more “modern” like areas specifically made for appliances - plug in, use and store all in one spot!! The knife block was built into my Granny’s counter too. The knife handles would be the only thing you’d see the block was IN the counter… new construction just doesn’t “do it” for me… unless I could customize the hell out of it, ya know? I LOVE your home. 98% off my home furnishings and decor are thrifted… or rescued from our recycling center…😊
Looks creepy cool! Loved how you reused the frame and flower painting for your skull print. What a great idea to repurpose thrifted frames and art. I also loved your candelabras. I'm on the hunt to thrift a candelabra, but they've been hard to find.
you have a flair for creating a creepy vibe with the old pics and things you have in your victorian. gives me the feel of going into a house that looks like it did back in the day and that the former residents are still there. fantastic. love what i see of your house-glad others appreciate the vintage things that will outlast the new stuff. and that piano that you got-gorgeous.
Nailed it! So stunning and perfectly executed with an eye for drama paired with exquisite taste. You've completely inspired me to start searching for and collecting these types of vintage pieces at my thrift stores. Thanks for sharing what is clearly your gift 🕷️🕸️
Spoiler alert: looove the fluttering eyes -- creepy as all get out. Thank you for sharing your creativity, you put me in the Halloween spirit for sure!
That is some creepy decorating! I love the E.A.Poe theme. I think the chunky beak makes that a raven, not a crow. That doll head with the eyes - Scary! If you're looking for a window covering above the buffet, how about tattered, yellowed old lace curtains pinned up there? I like the attention to detail you put in with the artwork. The creepy doctor measuring skulls, Poe, anatomical skull, etc. You really put in the time and effort to make it vintage 'creepy' instead of the modern, more obvious Hallowe'en decor. Thanks for the creepy tour, that was fun!
It's always more visually pleasing to see the spines of books, even if their colors aren't entirely matching. Neutral decorating edits a person out of their own home --the one place on earth a person ought to be fully and freely themselves.
UNREAL! I am so glad that you took the time to film this and share it with us. This is too good to be kept to yourself! 😍 Your attention to detail is unmatched!
I love, and I mean LOVE, everything about this video. Your home is gorgeous and your decorating skills and creativity are 10/10. I am inspired by the ceramic doll heads; I never thought to add that element.
Beautifully done! Ambience, mystery, amazing detail,. You're very talented. Love those old houses myself, so much more interesting than the plain square boxes they have these days. Vintage speaks to the soul and the history of life. Love it!!!😍
Love, love your home. It does lend itself beautifully to Halloween decor! I might be frightened to enter your home. So spooky in the real sense! I am new to your channel! You have bewitched me! I'm captivated! I am under your spell, and will return!
Very pretty! I'm definitely feeling the more understated Halloween decor this year. We have a plug in jack o lantern that I bought when my girls were small and I think he'll get some antiquing wax this year to tone down the bright orange.
I cover my books with nice black paper or gift wrap like I use to cover my school books so you can make any book any color very cheaply. And you can draw crosses or add details to the paper and not mess up the books.
Thank you!! Yes, I mostly decorate for Halloween first and then a little bit of fall right after through Thanksgiving. The Halloween decorating has definitely grown since becoming a mama! ☺️
Very elegant decor! Your son is right, the doll head is creepy.😉 Your home is beautiful. The piano is lovely. The reason it's so heavy is due to the metal back inside where the strings are attached. (I learned to play on a similar one.)
It would be cool if you were able to find red cloth at an estate or garage sale or thift store. I love your house the way it is, but I do think red looks really great with your style and its cool that you put up red accents for halloween. It would be fun to see you make a window drape with it over the buffet window. It would look so cool. You are very creative, so I could see you finding ways to use red cloth as well. A table runner would be cool too. I love everything in your video. I love your editing, your explanations, and all the details you show. You can tell you want to show off the details in all the cool vintage items you have. It's very appreciated.
Stumbled upon your channel and subscribed right away. You have a beautiful home and an amazing decorating style! Loved EVERYTHING you did. So inspiring. I LOVE Halloween as well. I also love vintage decor.
Loveeeee your decorations 👻 looks amazing! Lil “hack” for books since buying brown books can get pricey like you said, get brown or whatever print you like of wrapping paper. There’s thousands of options. I use black and white on my books and no one is the wiser 😈😂💀
Love, love, love it 😍 I would totally use this opportunity to make a game for your son by adding in a few items that don't really belong. Sort of a hidden object game. I think you would all get a kick out of it. Perhaps a red bat or a blue butterfly and maybe an eyeball in one of the skulls etc. you get the idea. With your creativity I'm sure you can come up with some awesome ideas. As he gets older you can make the items more difficult to find! Whatcha think 🤔
I just came across your channel & because I saw Victorian I clicked in. I absolutely wish I lived in a Victorian home. Love love love the way you decorated. So much talent. Great eye
Aren’t they cool?! We had one in our last house that was definitely for a phone, the ones in our current house are much less deep so I wonder if they are just decorative? I’d love to know what you put in yours!
@@KrystaMeeker I do love the arched niche and I am the only one that I personally know that has one in their house. I feel it adds a lot of character to my home. And I too struggle to decorate my large buffet, but thanks to you I have some great ideas, thank you!!

If you haven’t heard of or seen Christopher Hiedeman, check him out. He has an old house and does vintage decor also. Looking forward to more of your videos. I’m glad I found you.

Wow, very creative!! That doll head may be giving me a nightmare or two tonight...lol. Great spooky vibe overall...
Beautiful! I think it would be interesting to combine the cutouts where it appears the butterflies morph into bats.
