    I own the VCP 100 and it is outstanding for the feel and control you can achieve with such big head and « relative « light frame … and You’re right , I just got my hands on teh pinnacle … VCP97H which is a little bit overspec’d for me but , oh boy , it is a laser japanese ancient sword … unbelievable control for an outrageous low price for the quality it has built inside . 330gr unstrung is not for everyone of course but it just brings joy and smile in my face everttime I get it out of my bag at the cout and play one hour ( no more ) with it . Pure Joy . Amazing content ! Keep the nice work coming ! Bravo

    I enjoyed your video very much. With the VCP97, I think you have perfectly articulated my journey with this racquet. I did put Hydrosorb Pro on the grip along with a hack so the end cap is more pronounced. I needed it coming from a Wilson ProStaff and using overgrips. I am in love with this racquet.
    I've tried some demos of the Percept 97, 97H, 97D and 100D. I would have to customise the 97 a bit to get it how I like it (lead, grip and hack). But the 100 is something special. It's just plush. Pocketing is awesome. There is something different. Maybe it is the 100sq inch head size. I am not the biggest fan of the new looks
    Great video mate. I hope I get to see a video of you using the racquets and giving us an updated feedback. Keep up the great work.

    I’ve always preferred 18x20 string pattern and have used Speed Pros for years, but they’ve stiffened up the frame so I’ve tried the Babolat Pure Strike 18x20 today and really liked it and I’m also receiving the 2021 Vcore 97D this week which I can’t wait to try as I’ve never used a Yonex before

    excellent review. I am a new subscriber. I agree, Yonex is such a scientifically perfect brand...every charactieristic is so finely calibrated and balanced. I am a total fan, all the way back to the Yonex Ultimum 2 decades ago...and even that racquet has the foundation of how this amazing brand has evolved. So question: from the VCore Pro to the Percept, how does the tiny change in the graphite composite affect the touch and power, which i believe are a trade off. And which one do you honestly prefer when you actually get to to try the Percept. Please make a video when you actually try it. Thanks a lot for an excellent review !

    Compare the Percept 97L with the Vcore Pro 97L 2021 version

    • @CzechTennisGuy
      @CzechTennisGuy  2 місяці тому

      I can't compare these from my own experience, because I did not hit with them. But I can say from my experience with the other versions, that the Percept has better comfort and it's easier to play with.

      @@Shankar-Bhaskar No I did not try the 100L version this time. The 100L V8 was great so I think the new V9 version is going to play at least as good as the previous one.

    Looks like percept and vcore pro were similar enough that tiafoe actually debuted with the percept in dc, but guess he didn't like even the minor changes and went back to vcore pro for us open.

    • @CzechTennisGuy
      @CzechTennisGuy  Рік тому

      Who knows how it was. Maybe it's just that he likes the older paintjob more. I think he might play with some even older Vcore Pro from 2018. I cannot imagine these pro's change rackets at this rate. They usually stick with one frame for many many years.

      @@CzechTennisGuy I think he uses stock vcore pro with one string removed, like 18x19. there's a tennisnerd post somewhere about his setup

      @@vatovindicator The question is what version is the frame, year of release. The 18x19 string pattern is an interesting option and more rackets for the regular consumer should have this setup.

    I agree with what you say about the finishing process of Yonex EXCEPT on 2 aspects where they are the worst. Their base grip (replacement grip) is horrendously thin and hard and it sticked with a horrible glue to the racket. On top of that the base grip is soo thin that as soon as you buy a decent replacement grip (say head hydrosorb pro or something similar) and put that on the racket, the grip feels a whole size bigger. I actually measured several rackets between different brands and the grip (without the base grip on it) is actually 1 size bigger than most brands. So when you buy an L2 Yonex and put a decent grip on it, it is an L3. I had to sell my racket and buy a smaller size back.
    So their grip material is horrible thin and hard, glued to the racket and the hard grip of the racket underneath is 1 size to big. They are cutting corners on the interface between your hand and the racket. Why most people don't notice? Because they play with an overgrip. I don't like overgrips and always play without.

    • @CzechTennisGuy
      @CzechTennisGuy  Рік тому

      That's interesting note Larz. The Yonex grip size is just weird as Japan itself. It is strange because if you realize that a tennis racket made in Japan should also be for japanese people, the sizing should be opposite - the grip should be smaller, because of the overall smaller people living in this country. But they are "weirdos" in a good sense so what can you expect. But maybe they are smarter than we think. I will explain.
      I believe they count that most people use an overgrip which compensates the hard base grip. When you have soft base grip and soft overgrip (0,6 mm), it will take away the feel for the bevels. On the contrary, you see many people removing the cushioned base grip of Wilson, Babolat, Head rackets and they replace it with harder leather grip. The leather grip is not only heavier, but it is harder and creates sharper bevels. So Yonex is kind of counting on this strategy in my opinion. And the glue is super sticky from what I've experienced so it is very hard to remove the base grip.

    • @LarzB
      @LarzB Рік тому

      @@CzechTennisGuy removing the base grip isn't hard, but you have to scrape off all the remaining glue which is horrible. Most people don't play with leather grips, at least not in the Netherlands. But if i see what people play with grip wise.. it's just disgusting haha. And then just put an overgrown over it because they don't know better?

    • @CzechTennisGuy
      @CzechTennisGuy  Рік тому

      @@LarzB Most people don't care, true. But the ones who care and who like to customize their racket, they use leather base grip. I also removed the base grip from Artengo racket and put a synthetic leather grip instead to get sharper bevels. It's a lot harder in hand, but the feedback is very delicate.

    another question: if there is less dampening in new Percept , does that mean there is less feel ? pls tell me when u play with it. thanks !

    • @CzechTennisGuy
      @CzechTennisGuy  9 місяців тому

      Hi, no, it's the opposite. Percept has amazing feel and touch. It's not that dampened in the sense that you don't feel anything, but it's more vivid, clear type of dampening compared to the Vcore Pro's 2021. Vcore Pro's are dampened more in a sense that it "kills" the feel and touch little bit too much.
