True, this is music for the people. I have it on Laserdisc, but we all can't be as fortunately nerdy as me.
Repeat constantly for some reason. Its very quirky and I love it.
If Christopher Lloyd's character from Back to the Future was to sing a song, this would be it. "Science!"
Exit Only totally agree!!!!
I've had this thought every single time Ive heard this song
@@leachristine5264 Great Scott...
I used to sing this song to my biology Ph.D girlfriend at the time. It still gives me "feelings"
Hahaha The power of Science.
Yes 😂
Weird Science was playing on the TV and reminded me of this song and the 80’s so here I am.........Being a kid in the 80’s was just the best!
A brilliant, truly talented man.
This man was so far ahead of his time!
I agree!
A nerd with guyliner.....awww. 😊
Because he used science!
In 1985 he literally called the album “The golden age of wireless” so yeah.
@@abelcuevas9309 Yes, he used Science and Wind Power! 😂😂😂
Another song that when you hear it, it stays in your head for week's.
But it's not an earworm nor is it musicosis.
What can you say that hasn't already been said about this song and video. The song, Dolby's persona, the revolutionary video. If he had only done this one masterpiece, it would have been enough! Fortunately for us, Mr. Dolby did not stop here! Bravo Thomas! Respect!
We get it 😉 full awake!
Brilliant video thank you Thomas Dolby
This takes me back. Miss the 80s. Wish I could go back to them.. in age too LOL
Still going strong after thirty-seven years. This song really drove the Spring of 1983. Thank you, Mr. Dolby.
TralfazConstruction yep! I remember when this song was brand new. Time sure goes by fast!
@@jason127x99 That it does. The first time that I can recall hearing this song was in April(?) of '83 while driving back home with my wife and daughter after having bought our daughter her first two-wheeled bicycle. She'd just turned seven. Now my daughter just turned forty-four which makes me an old phart (COVID-19 notwithstanding). Sadly, my daughter's mother (my dear wife) passed away from the side-effects of Stage 4 breast cancer nearly 18 years ago. I remember that Spring of '83 as being a good time for my then-young family. How time _does_ fly.
Just another example of the energy humour and originality of 1980s music
amazing sound...thanks
I've known this song for YEARS and never saw the video! This is hilarious I love it.
It was a great video, back when MTV played videos. Loved the song a old MTV
The guy playing bass on this just died. R.I.P. Matthew Seligman

When MTV was actually good.
😂 dam , dam 😂 there it is 😂😂😂
Whiteouts the rap junk
Yes it was! Videos were creative, usually featured the real artists, often told a story, and could be really funny. Best times ever!
I would stay up till 3 am watching viseos such as this.
Wish it was still like this! I hate change!
Thomas Dolby has created very many beautiful songs.
I remember watching this on MTV.......this is more than a song, it's a work of a creative genius. Mr. Dolby is the man :)
Working in the clinical laboratory from 1980-1986 this song made my fellow women of science feel seen and loved! ❤ We would blast it in the lab. 😊
💯
Wow , word picture or wot ?❤
This song is so goofy and strange, yet it's perfection. I love it!!
This was soo cool and original love this song
This was the JAM in it's day, and utilized the still growing power of the music video to give that visual stamp.
This song resonates 80's all day!!!
Hi Michelle,hope you’re okay ?
This has got to be one of the most funkiest 80s I love it because I'm a serious old 80s born nerd too... the retro the nostalgia.... And if I'm hooked up to machines a couple of bags and wasting away shaking turned into a vegetable in a nursing home or in my home I'll play this and I'll still do the jam........
Awesome.
Damn, I miss the 80s - what a fun time that was.
i made 6 discs of 80s stuff...
my greatest accomplishment.
and, yes, this one is in there
Dr. Magnus Pyke was way ahead of his time, as a kid I never missed his show!! RIP( passed in 1992)
He also kinda grew annoyed by random blokes approaching him and yelling "SCIENCE!" at him.
A true great. Magnus Pike
Wasn't he the same bloke who played the teacher in Pink Floyd's "The Wall"? You! Yes, you!! Stand still, laddie!!!
If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding!! How can you have any pudding, if you don't eat your meat?!?
@@minty_Joe They look similiar, but the teacher in The Wall was played by Alex McAvoy. When I was a little little kid, I thought he was saying, "How can you have any pudding if you don't pick your feet!" My mom thought it was hilarious.
@@SunnysFilms That's gotta rank up there with the common mis-hearing of the chorus to Blinded by The Light
such a typical video style of the time. Remember dancing to this in the night clubs... awesome.
Annie1962 me to
Great memories, so did I!
Me too - good times
When simplistic and fun was the appeal, now is brilliant.
