Glad you did a collaboration with home and garden for mere mortals that's how I found your channel and think I'm going to enjoy it. Looking forward to watching more videos.
Awesome, Joe! I can't wait to see how this project progresses! Building a Maloof style rocker is definitely something I want to build, but it really does seem like an intimidating job. It's awesome to see an "average Joe" building one, definitely inspires me to give it a go!
Hello from the USA. I just joined your channel. I love you mate! You prove what can be done in small workshop. Mine is no bigger. You can make anything you want, as long as you can it out the door. Ha Ha. Keep it up! Thankz
Great project Joe, very inspiring mate. I would love to do something similar when my kids get a bit older and I have the spare cash. I am looking forward to the rest of the series mate, great work and thanks for making the video.
I am so glad I found your site! I have been hesitant to pull the trigger and start this bucket list project. Your approach is helpful. I have plans & videos from another Maloof inspired chair maker. Things I saw from your video that helped: : using the jigsaw for the front curves. My 10” bandsaw won’t work well here. : using biscuits - I’ve purchased enough new toys for this build. Also like how you showed your rebound from an Oooops. : after many months I’ve just received my dowell & tenon cutters. : I chose to go with less expensive rasps as the suggested brand is a bit pricey. Hope I didn’t make a mistake there. I will be watching the rest of your videos and will subscribe. Thank you again!
Nice work Mate. You are doing great things. I know I have said this before, But I will say it again. :) You have come a long way with your skills and the way you turn out projects. I look forward to seeing this Rocker when you finish it. Thumbs up 1000 % And Thank you for sharing. Take care...
Looks like a great start to a challenging project. Can't wait for the rest of the series. I bought the morris chair plans, but have not been brave enough to try it. I have a few projects in the works, but watching you tackle this might get me going on it. Cheers!
Looking great so far Joe. It's totally different from what I make, and I like seeing the different approaches people take. Looking forward to the next one. Cheers for sharing.
Hi Joe, well done again for uploading a fantastic build it's very inspiring for me, can't wait to see the next installment, I'm going to check out some of those plans , just like to mention that your shed is bigger than mine lol.
Nothing like jumping in at the deep end Been wondering where you were and now we know, knee deep in walnut chippings while making a high end chair, looking forward to the next instalment.
Nice one chief. It's not really the kind of thing I would do but I can appreciate the difficulty level of a piece such as this. That grinding disc thing looks like a godsend ☺. Keep at it Joe.
Top notch Joe, that's tip top taking on a challenge of making chairs mate as its not as easy as it looks, when I make something I would not think of completing the project without making a mistake to be normal 😧 lol, keep up the good work & taking on new challenges, Dirk DownUnder
I am going to build a sculpted rocker too. I got the plans from Charles Brock, but looks like it's the same. I've been gathering materials and some needed tools. Dude, you need a new bandsaw blade :) . I really liked your time lapse filming...nice work!
Good job joe. How good do the walnut shavings smell. Axminster power tools sell there own range of router bits at a good price. They have loads of choice.
Cool video! Even though it's not your design it's interesting to see someone's take on a project that utilizes plans, you don't see much of that on UA-cam. I know there are a lot of guild projects available, what made you decide on this one? Price, need, skill level? Look forward to seeing more!
Looks like you've done a fantastic job so far, Joe! Carving a chair seat is a lot of fun. I did one about six-years ago but didn't have the luxury of one of those angle grinder discs... How did you cope with all the dust being produced? Looking forward to the next instalment. :-)
Hi I was involved in a accident on my motorbike on 2009 whilst riding my gsxr 600 and I was only going 30mph when an old lady 67yrs old pulled out in front of me. I don't remember anything about it bit I had 14 broken ribs a broken collarbone a broken shoulder blade, both lungs collapsed my back broken In 3 places my neck broken in 2 places a fractured skull and some slight brain damage and sadly the worst thing was my spinal cord damaged that has left me a paraplegic and in a wheelchair for the rest of my life....... Which no amount of money could make up for. It took 1 yr to accept full liability and another 4 yrs to haggle over compensation and it settled a week before it was due in the high courts. So now I have a lovely workshop stacked with all the machines I could wish for so I can enjoy my Woodwork. It's a lot harder to do it as you can imagine but it won't stop me.
Looks really good! Were you satisfied with how quickly the carving wheel took away material? Do you at all wish you would have gone more coarse/less coarse?
good work joe!!-after this guild build i think a name change will be in order..and u know what I mean;) haha! really looking forward to seeing what you do next with it going to have to check out the guild ..
***** oh no I'm happy I just think your underwriting yourself but it's your channel you do with what you like lol :-) I'll always support your channel brother and sure does sound like it and from the looks of those templates everything seems spot-on definitely going to have to look at it and I will tell him that I was referred to it by you
+Average Joes Joinery good to know..i wish i could afford a patreon but at this point its not in the cards but i will do that and share the video for sure
Looks great so far. I've never seen that grinder blade thing, it looks rather handy. Looking forward to the next part. Just wondering if your accent is from Staffordshire / Stoke. It seems really familiar, but I can't quite pace it. Thanks for another great video.
Glad you did a collaboration with home and garden for mere mortals that's how I found your channel and think I'm going to enjoy it. Looking forward to watching more videos.
Like that chair...I see why it will imitate many including me. looking forward to part 2...

Great video Joe. Glad your taking this build on. It's gonna be a pleasure to watch
Looking good Joe. Don't underestimate your talent. Just because you did it in your shed doesn't mean it's easy! Keep up the good work man.
Two hours? Damn fast! I made one with handtools, took me six days🙄 Liking yours so far!

cool. Wealden tools also do a great selection, just like trend but quite a bit cheeper. might be worth a look if you haven't already
looks great, I like the look of those saburr tooth discs, adding them to my wish list!
Yeah, shop stool would be pretty cool actually! Going to have to have a look on Pinterest for some more inspiration! Early Xmas present for myself lol

+Jason Wilkins haha Thanks Jason! Ive been watching him for years. Love his vlogs now 😊
i have a small amount of wallnut timber, but dont know it its enough to build this rocker.
Are there a list of needed timber for the build?
Great work joe. what was that site you got the wood from
Is that english walnut or american black walnut? Nice build!

It's a great accent. Considering I live on the border of Lancashire and Scouceland, I'm amazed I don't have an accent.
LOL
How much did the walnut cost mate ?
+Average Joes Joinery £300??!! Bugger me! Looking great though pal!
The cost for their plans would push we away from taking any of their projects on.
Where are you from
Your accent sound similar
+Average Joes Joinery same
Prices doesn't worry me as I was awarded 3.9 million for my accident.
Looking good Joe
