I recently evaluated a dozen acclaimed recordings of _Messiah_ with a ruthlessly critical ear, and the only peers I found to the Trinity recording (Naxos, 1999) were performances conducted by Harry Christophers (The Sixteen) and Peter Dijkstra (Bavarian Radio Chorus and B'Rock, the Belgian Baroque Orchestra Ghent).
