Excited for the A-10 content! My dad was an A-10 pilot and went on several deployments with it. I was lucky enough to get to see a live fire exercise at a range one time. It’s a kickass plane and I definitely got excited when I saw the thumbnail!

Hey hey Cleetus my name is Dallas, I work for the us Navy on the F/A 18G and what prevents the landing from retracting on deck are the WOW switches ( weight on wheel) switches. And each landing gear the nose the both MLG have tag out pins for extra precaution so the gear can’t retract. Plus the one big thing is you need to have hydraulics on for it to retract. Sorry I know it’s a lot but we do have a lot of things in place to make sure it does not happen. Too bad you guys weren’t in Washington anytime soon I could give u guys a tour.

@@jimihendrix5576 if i am not mistaken, it was a video when they had the cars on the dyno and he had issues with them because there was a rope holding them together and he was having issues getting them around the wheels correctly

Also fun fact I learned from an actual A10 pilot, firing the cannon actually slows down their airspeed. I thought that was pretty cool useless knowledge.

Dude when I was deployed to Afghanistan, everytime an A10 was overhead it gives you goosebumps and when they do gun runs on targets, nothing beats that sound of pure merica freedom raining down!

I am not an aeronautical engineer but I stayed at Holiday Inn Express. The A10 was designed to allow successful belly flop landings if the hydraulics fail. Hitting the wheels like that just show how close to the real design the model is. May not be enough clearance in the pod to let the wheels spin when it hits the ground since they flat spotted. Really cool rig!

In the 80s I lived right down the street from a hobby shop and they would have circle track, off road and and drag races. There were guys that had Reyer-Morrison and Bob Glidden Pro Stockers and one guy had a Big Daddy Don Garlits Top Fueler. They didn't do planes there but there were some that they knew that had F-86, F-4 and MiG 21 jets that had actual turbines and the things were so big that they had to haul them in a trailer.

Loving the rc content. I'm currently building a Dirty-birdy 60 converted to electric. The A10 looks like it Flys like a classic pattern ship. Long steady approach on landing to bleed that speed off. I can't wait to see more.
Need to set up triple rates. That way with the flip of a switch you can change the throw rate. Also, add some expo to smooth out your sticks. Doing those two things will give you a much smoother flight.

Look into an eflight carbon cub. You can get a ready to fly version with a remote fairly cheap, and its a great easy to fly trainer plane.

@@Wiserone123 although they have a leg up on some, because they understand what's going on with the aircraft. Real pilots are the ones that get butt hurt the quickest out of all new pilots. You're using your fingers and looking at it fly. It's way different than actually flying a real one. And helicopter pilots that try RC pilots are the ones the get the most butt hurt. Lol I worked at a HobbyTown USA for 5-6 yrs, seen it all the time.

FPV racing is a blast, for sure. (I prefer Q-500 and up myself) But since Ceetus is the only qualified pilot in the group, getting a race or combat session going without ending before it starts would be difficult. Still fun to watch modern ARF's go through modification and durability testing.

You need to throw a little expo in the ailerons and especially the elevator that way it's not so fast to respond and you'll have a lot more control over it.

Definitely in my top 3 favourite planes! YF-23 and SR71 are the other 2…can’t put them in an order… to hard to make a decision like that
YF-23 is an odd, but good choice. I'm partial to the 22 because my uncle designed the weapons carousel and I think it's a better dog fighter, but if the 23 was ready to perform when the time came I think the Air Force would have gone for the speed and stealth advantage it had

Cleetus is clearly better on the ground than in the air. When you start throwing that third dimension into the mix, you run into trouble... B2 - down. A-10 scuffed on the first flight. Stadium super truck, lost the win on the final jump.

Don't know if you've ever been part of the RC hobby (especially planes and helicopters) but you WILL crash them. Often on the first flight when you're not used to the handling and stuff. Luckily a crash is often fixable thanks to the low weight and foam being very easily repaired. Been flying RC planes for over 25 years and my dad has over 40 years of experience. We both crash every now and then. Random loss of signal, dead batteries etc. Shit happens. Same with RC cars when they go faster than 30-40mph. One wrong bump and that thing is flying into the stratosphere.

That's awesome. Blue tails were the 91st squadron on RAF Woodbridge (81st TFW) when I was stationed there, so yeah, seeing the Blue lightning bolt gives me a warm fuzzy BRRT
