Welcome to the world of Helicopters!!! I would've posted more helicopter content sooner, but when I got into flying them 3 or so years ago I realized there's no room for distractions. I've been flying A TON before and after work so I can show you guys this stuff as safely as possible. More to come but only in the right conditions. Hope you guys enjoy!
A good friend of mine flies a MD500 that hangs a massive saw below for trimming trees. It is an insane career, but is exactly what you did here. Imagine doing 6-8 hrs of cutting daily along power lines no less! Keep it up Garrett, and fly safe my friend. .
AG1 tastes like dog shit. No word of a lie. There are bottles of liquified vegetables that are loaded with extra vitamins that you can buy at your supermarket that at least have a teeny tiny bit of sugar, so it's not like you're sucking on a dung-coated piece of rotten moss from a dead stump.
I'm a former Blackhawk pilot and you're getting better training than I had in the Army. I'm jealous of your experiences. This brings back memories of being absolutely exhausted after each training flight. It uses every muscle in your body to maintain focus and control. When he took over and told you to take a rest, I knew that feeling all too well. You're doing great
yep! I'll never forget that exhaustion during hover operations / training. It physically requires almost no effort, but you will feel more physically and mentally exhausted when you're done with that flight than just about anything.
Can we give George more credit? There is no one more I'd rather have behind the camera with commentary than that guy. No matter what is going on, drag racing, boats, watching paint dry...it's going to be amazing.
I have a lot of respect for Garrett’s attitude tbh. Just the idea that he wasn’t immediately blasting all the aviation stuff all over UA-cam the second he got a helicopter, speaks a lot to his humility imo. The content he’s been making with the planes and such has been a lot of fun to watch because of that attitude. Seems like a really good example of how you can be confident and successful without being arrogant and turning off the rest of us by doing things most of us can’t afford to do. Classy as hell. His kid is going to have a riot growing up with him for a father.
I agree. Wish he'd come out with his Christianity and stop using ads like simply safe who hate America and Christians. We need more like him. American man making his American dream. God bless.
@@stopcommunism9224not super religious myself, I wanna see him working on and racing cars, not bible study. No hate to y’all, I respect it but there’s a time and a place.
As a pilot myself, I appreciate how serious you are taking this. You aren't making it out to be a joke. Glad to see you including the ground training portion as well. Lets the general public know that flying isn't just showing up and having fun. Well done.
I appreciate that Cleet goofs around a lot, but when it comes to safety with aircraft, he don't mess around... Just like he wouldn't let any of the guys get in the LS swapped plane, it's an experimental, and they don't have a great track record.
You being a pilot. Would know he has to. You can lose your quals and license pretty quickly if the FAA gets wind of unsafe actions. Not only that the trainer also can lose theirs. 10 seconds of stupid. Can cause a lifetime of harm. There’s a reason it’s very difficult to get civilian qualifications to fly. And remain flying. Not just financial burden either. I’m a rotary pilot through and through. I love these videos. You guys can keep your fixed wings.
That man is the kind of instructor/teacher that everybody needs at some point in their life. Not goofing around, but light enough to keep your anxiety at bay. Keeps your spirits high with positive reinforcement, but won't give you any extra.
Ain’t that the truth. A great teacher can make almost anything fun and engaging in a way that you learn more. On the flip a bad teacher can take your favorite thing and ruin it for you lol.
I wish my instructors were that professional. Not just keeping you from panicking, but accepting that its a very hard task and that you are GOING to fail a lot. Then coaching how to fix mistakes while not putting you down for messing up. What a pro.
His commentary is always so upbeat and kind of what we are thinking. He is Cleets hype man and try's very hard to make sure he is getting everything he can for us in the safest manner.
What I love and appreciate is how seriously cleeter took the training. He wasn't being goofy for UA-cam, he was very focused. Great job all around in this video
The ground was time lapsed and the first part of the in seat was only shown in short bits. He has as few distractions as possible. I think this is most serious i have seen him about anything. Some stuff he will push the limits but on this he is by the book.
@paulcopeland9035 when lives are at stake, including his property and stuff, it gets a little more serious. and that's where not acting for UA-cam comes in. The price for insurance to protect his livelihood compared to acting for UA-cam doesn't even match is all I'm saying!
i admire how smart Cleetus is, it blows my mind how much he's learning and teaching all of us at the same time. cars, racing, owning a track and flying vehicles. what an amazing channel to follow. I hope this content never stops, thank you Cleetus.
@@oldmate484 Yes he was in law school at the start of the channel. He's already a very intelligent guy and it's pretty cool to watch his thirst for knowledge. I'd watch even if all he did was cool car stuff, but I think it's WAY better that he expands on his skill set whenever he can and he includes his followers in it so we can learn a thing or two also.
What exactly is he teaching you? How to do a burnout? How to blow up a good engine? Or maybe how to race a 2000+ hp car? Yeah buddy he’s teaching you a lot
I absolutely loved the MD530 helicopter content. In a very noisy and dangerous environment, everyone did an excellent job filming, directing, and communicating. Cleetus always gives 110 percent and stays true to the job at hand.
Back when I was watching videos of turbo whistles in the c7 exhaust I never thought I’d be learning as much as I do from this channel. Really loving all the progression you’ve made over the years. Keep killing it brother!!!

Never mind the stress load of putting out a video every single day for a whole month, then you're going to put out 40 minute videos of solid content. Bravo my guy 🤙
Trust me when I say a competent and skilled student goes a long way towards how relaxed you can be in the seat beside them😂 Can be difficult to find positive reinforcement right after they just tried to spread you over the ground by freezing up😂😂
Cleetus's channel is revolutionary. If that's the word I'm looking for😂😂😂. Noone has ever brought us content on cars, trucks, boats planes and helicopters. Truly bad ass
Paul seems like a pretty fun dude to hang with. Also, imagine being a neighboring business to Cleetus and looking out and seeing what shenanigans he has in store for the day 😂
As a rigger, this was pretty cool to see! Keep in mind next time that the weight of the engine in the rear of the boat is going to shift your cog (center of gravity) further towards the rear. Try shortening the chokers on the engine side to shift your pick point closer to the cog and the boat will pick up much more level!
This is why pilots for helicopter lineman are so impressive. Whether they’re hovering at a 500KV line, or they’re picking up and dropping off lineman. It’s an incredible skill.
One of my favorite Parts is listening to George and how he is honestly and legitly excited for Cletus CM accomplish new things the same goes for Cletus and his guys when he's honestly happy to see them accomplished new things accomplish new things
This is some of my favorite content by far. Garret being an absolute wheelman driving/flying whatever you give him and an expert helping him get to the next level. Love the expertise, the training “games” and all the production is on point as well. Plus it’s 40min of Cleeter which no one is complaining about
Congrats to Cleetus! I've been on the receiving end of heavy long lines (250') and hoist work; it's not easy by a long shot. I have so much respect for the pilots I worked with. Being on a hoist (or even catching a 60 pound hook) requires trusting your pilots with your life. Good job dude!
we need more people like Paul in the world sharing knowledge, super supportive non judgmental professional and actuality passionate about what hes doing its infectious .. truly excellent
We need a cleetus aviation channel solely dedicated to this stuff. I could watch hours of this. This is incredible content you just won't find anywhere else
Let's take a moment to look back. Not long ago ol' Cleeter was putting whistles in his exhaust. Not long after that he was racing cars he knew nothing about. Honestly, the reason I became a fan and told everyone I know to subscribe was because Cleetus knew nothing about cars. Now think about *everything* he has learned. Amazing amounts of knowledge on a very diversified set of subjects. I have *always* been impressed with his marketing and business skills while watching him learn and mature. Now lets give him credit for his amazing ability to drive anything. I was truly blown away that anyone could become competitive jet boat racing on their first try. In summary, I think Garrett diserves everything he has worked so hard for, and I am honored to be a OG Cleetus subscriber! Oh, the entire crew, family, friends and his support team ... All #1.
Incredible teacher there, he made the whole thing fun for Cleet, and thats not trying to understate the fact Garrett has incredible talent which i can tell he still goes away in the background and practices away from the internet. I was saying to my wife the concentration required to hover while hanging out the door, Cleet would get out of the Heli (I still call them a Hughes 500 even though they dont exist anymore and this is a newer Mcdonall Douglas 530F) saying he felt like he just walked up a mountain all the muscles would be that tight. I was born in New Zealand and saw the old WWII warbird airshows where they'd use a Hughes 500D and pretend theyd picked up someones caravan saying it was blocking a gate, theyd fly infront of the crowd and drop it from 150ft and crowd watch it shatter into a pile on the ground. I was fully expecting this old airshow trick to spell the end of the Jetboat, so I was actually more impressed they didnt pull that old stunt and actually did put it back on the trailer.... Again, massive respect to Garretts abilities and even bigger respect to the team teaching you. ( I actually loved the lesson on stopping the pendulum - handy to know if you start to get into trouble near powerlines etc.)
working on my IR right now with the ultimate goal of doing utility and fire work. never thought I'd get content like this out of this channel but it makes me so excited to see a creator so into the same crazy stuff that I am.
OUTSTANDING !!! As my years in Military Army Aviation, I was a ground Crew Chief for the old UH-1 Huey's. And then for the UH-60 Blackhawks. It was awesome !! I feel so honored to be able to have and do that job. As the soldiers on the ground in the jungles of Viet Nam always said "when they heard the old thump thump of the old UH-1 Huey, It was the true sound of Freedom". The UH-1's saved many, many soldiers lives !! HooAH !!
I'm at a loss for words on how jealous I am. With that being said, the way these videos come out make me FEEL as if I'm there, and it's incredibly hard to describe just how much joy it brings watching your content. I'm so pumped for you man, as a Dad seeing you succeed the way that you do makes me so proud and happy. You're building an empire, and it'll never stop growing!
I think part of it is George. His commentary is always so upbeat and kind of what we are thinking. He is Cleets hype man and try's very hard to make sure he is getting everything he can for us in the safest manner.
This is in my top 5 of any videos you have done too date... you can really see the passion in your eyes and they way you act while your in the air. It's pretty frickin cool too see. 🤘
The reel aces are the folks who become Warrant Officers in the US Military, Army Aviators are given the opportunity to fly with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) which Is the US Military's best. The USAF also has some super skilled pilots. Thanks for bringing back some memories from a couple of close friends who flew in Vietnam. In their cases they were shot down bringing wounded out of a very hot LZ. One became a quadriplegic and he lost both legs from the knees down. The other guy and became a quadriplegic. Both are still alive and I was honored to be their coach in the early 80;s, Both did their rehab at the West Roxbury VA west of Boston, MA, They remain my heroes for what they endured while being stuck in their helicopter for days. I was fortunate to do my spinal cord injury rehab in BU Medical Center in Boston. I broke my back following an off road motorcycle that left me a paraplegic. Great memories and a little sadness Clete, Keep refining those fine motor skills as a pilot. Repetition of perfect motor skill activities will ingrain in your brain over time and then you will ask yourself, why was it so hard? Keep it up with practice because it just might save your life.
I get the feeling we are going to be seeing Cleetus working/collaborating with Heavy D in the future on a recovery. This seems like the kind of thing that would be the lead up to such a collaboration. Besides him just wanting to take a jet boat to a remote river.
Rock on! Garrett you are so humble about everything, and you’ve got such an awesome crew that gets just as hyped to see any of the crew accomplish goals. Absolutely awesome!
Years ago in the Houston area, a high school baseball tournament was in jeopardy of being cancelled because of rain. Someone brought in a helicopter to dry the outfields on 2 fields. Somewhere in my pictures from way back, I have some shots of the chopper about 10 feet off the ground hovering around 2nd base. :)
Now imagine the dudes flying giant saws underneath going by power lines cutting trees,or attatching to the power lines and what a great teacher that guy was so calm and collected
Cleetus, I hope you realize just how special of an instructor pilot you have with you. I was an IP in the Army and can sympathize with what you went through. All tense and overcorrecting at first, but at the end you were getting relaxed and letting the machine do the work. All the while your IP was getting comfortable with you. Long lining is very difficult. Throw in wind, rain, night, high tension wires and the like and it is amazing what these pros can do. As a retired IP I am in awe of what the MD series is doing out there in the working world and the pilots flying them.
It helps that he does so many different things on the channel. If it was just a drag racing channel, I would not be too interested in it. After a while a bunch of drag racing videos would get old.
Man, that's what I thought of too. These guys are in the middle of a big open field, no real wind whatsoever, and a heli with a stupid power/weight ratio. Not that the Coast Guard has a weak bird, it's just got a lot of load and just doesn't have the agility a little bird does. Then you have REAL wind, the field is lurching at you up to 50-75ft at a time, and there's human life at the end of your 100-150ft line...and you can't see shit. Damn.
This is awesome seeing Cleetus getting into aviation and crushing it! He's got all the hand eye coordination needed for the job. He's basically used to thinking fast under pressure from drag racing as well! His well deserved successful UA-cam career couldn't have happened to a better person!
Good job. It's a little easier from the left seat, but being so tall helps with the reach from the right seat. I used to fly 9 hours a day at 200', Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina. No better job in the world. 5 engine failures over 3000 hours, keeps you thinking and planning for it. :D
Just curious why it would be different between the right and left seat? Assuming that they are symmetrical on the helicopter, and the hook is in the middle. Does it have to do with the rotation of the helicopter, and the way the cable hangs under it?
@@jiminauburn5073 Maybe the position of the collective lever? I have no idea if that is always inboard of the seat or always on the left or right. Google says "normally to the left of the pilot". So leaning that way your right arm (stick) isn't jammed against your body trying to make precision movement. Anyone know for sure?
He’s probably referring to the reach for the collective. Even Cleetus has to reach pretty far to keep a hand on it. Now imagine youre leaning out the left side and the collective would be directly under you.
@@johnnymissfire8464 It's a helicopter, so yes. I've known several pilots that flew back and forth between the coast and oil platforms, also watched a blackhawk crash in 2009 on A&M's campus..... You wont catch me on one unless I'm going to die without it.

This has to be the coolest video you guys have put out as far as showcasing Cleetus’s aviation skills, I would dare to say it’s one of the coolest videos I’ve seen in a long time period! That was so awesome watching him get the hook in the bucket the skills are on point! So great!!
AWESOME VIDEO!!!👍🏻👍🏻 I worked with a helicopter crew doing crop dusting for a couple of months here in Mississippi. The pilot was a dude from Florida and his skills at flying the little Robinson helicopter were breathtaking!! From flying 15 ft off the ground at 80-100 mph while dodging trees and power lines to landing on top of a truck on a 10’x14’ platform made me have much respect for all helicopter pilots! Great job Cletus!!
I am absolutely loving the aviation content, my worlds are colliding. I'm also extremely proud of Cleetus for having fun with it but still very clearly taking it extremely seriously like it should be. Keep it up
amazing there is not anything that Cleetus cannot succeed in, you and your crew are so much fun to watch. Thank you guys for all the great content and verity.
Dude that’s awesome I am one of the linemen that hangs on the end of the longline. Seeing this video make me have so much more respect for the pilots that fly us around. Thanks for the behind the scenes look at what it takes.
i do exploratory mining and this is a part of our every day job in the mountains catching sling loads, we normally use 100 foot long line, on foggy days we use a 50 footer, catching a 1800-3000 pound load in the wind on the side of a mountain and get pretty exciting. props to the pilots
QUALITY FKING ENTERTAINMENT RIGHT HERE BOYS!!!! Cleeter you and the boys just don't miss!!! Straight up one of the coolest videos on youtube! Hands Down!

That's a hell of a job your doing for your first time. I've been in the heavy commercial industrial hvac business basically my entire life. We use a company 5 star helicopter service outta Royce City, Texas just northeast of Dallas, and I've been under Brad for hundreds of lifts since the 80's. I have flown across the state with him to our jobsites.. I can't tell you how many times he's had my life, and many different crews life's in his talented hands, and feet. With thousands of pounds of equipment many stories in the air, and him above us swing it in steady as if it were a empty 5 gallon bucket hitting dead in in places that you wouldn't believe unless you saw it personally. And I'm talking sitting it in place where it will bolt into place without having to use any other mechanical equipment to finish bolting everything in place. I'm talking dumping majority of his fue😢in order to make it happen. We've set up to 50 plus roof top hvac units in matter of minutes compared to days worth of time and labor to do it with multiple large cranes.
I started watching Cleetus a little before the mullet build but watch pretty much religiously, this kid found his niche and perfected it. Love watching people succeed
This channel has taught me so many things and for that I'll always hold a special place for this entire channel and squad in my heart. Thanks Cleeter n All!

So good to see Cleetus taking this super seriously... getting some of the best training you can get there too, some nice autorotation practice there too, I've only done a few hours behind the controls, I have a very long way to go.
Hello Cleetus, what a great video. I worked heliportable seismic for almost 20 years. We were using heliportable drills and I worked all over the world. 2,000 lb picks and elevations up to 9,000 feet. I was on the ground as a crew coordinator and I spotte the pieces as they came in. The pilots I worked with were for the most part old veitnam vets. What they could do with their helicopter was nothing short of a miracle. We flew 205's, 212's and 214's, some lamas and jet rangers. The 500 was the little one. Flew those in some awesome places. Did checkrides with kiwi pilots in Papau New Guinea up to 10,000 feet in a 206 and then death spiral to 1,000 feet. (Thats what they called it) I had an awesome life for a long time. Thanks for the memory back to those days.
Can’t wait to watch brother, I’ve got you setup so I get all the updates and normally always one of the first ones to watch. Keep it up and keep doing it for DALE brother.

Not a bad day at work...
You know Paul went home with a bruise on his arm from all the times Cleeter hit him out of excitement 😂
Insurance is expensive
@@Cavranger04 Of course it is! What does that have to do with this?
@paulcopeland9035 when lives are at stake, including his property and stuff, it gets a little more serious. and that's where not acting for UA-cam comes in. The price for insurance to protect his livelihood compared to acting for UA-cam doesn't even match is all I'm saying!
i admire how smart Cleetus is, it blows my mind how much he's learning and teaching all of us at the same time. cars, racing, owning a track and flying vehicles. what an amazing channel to follow. I hope this content never stops, thank you Cleetus.
I think he was going to Law school before he decided to be a full time sender.
@@oldmate484 he was, there's a lot more to our beloved Cleeteer.
Imagine if he went thru with the law school life plan, and never hooked up with 1320😳
What exactly is he teaching you? How to do a burnout? How to blow up a good engine? Or maybe how to race a 2000+ hp car? Yeah buddy he’s teaching you a lot
I absolutely loved the MD530 helicopter content. In a very noisy and dangerous environment, everyone did an excellent job filming, directing, and communicating. Cleetus always gives 110 percent and stays true to the job at hand.
Love how Paul started to ease up once Cleeter had proven his abilities and ended up just wanting to get involved with the fun!
Back when I was watching videos of turbo whistles in the c7 exhaust I never thought I’d be learning as much as I do from this channel. Really loving all the progression you’ve made over the years. Keep killing it brother!!!

Getting to see him fly his dream chopper is badass
I love that he includes everyone in these experiences.
Hanging out with Cleetus, George gets to see the coolest thing he's ever seen every couple of days.
Good precision control Garrett. 👍
That is if the engine is back in the boat, I think its out right now for patches and hot metal massages.
This is why pilots for helicopter lineman are so impressive. Whether they’re hovering at a 500KV line, or they’re picking up and dropping off lineman. It’s an incredible skill.

All #1.
41 minutes of FREEDOM on a THURSDAY?!?! OH HELL YEAH!
Still a 500 series, same with me, Just the latest and greatest

Thanks Cleet for this vid. As a retired military rotary wing guy, this was a blast to watch.
HooAH !!

"Cherry dryer" is an actual helicopter pilot profession. When it rains. They fly over and dry the cherries
As a retired IP I am in awe of what the MD series is doing out there in the working world and the pilots flying them.
you have a gift in keeping the content interesting and not boring and repetitive... great video and great content as always
It helps that he does so many different things on the channel. If it was just a drag racing channel, I would not be too interested in it. After a while a bunch of drag racing videos would get old.
What a Coast Guard pilot must be going through doing this in the middle of a storm? Makes it become more real what they really do.
Fr fr. On god no cap
That sounds like a high rate of failure.
You wont catch me on one unless I'm going to die without it.

i do exploratory mining and this is a part of our every day job in the mountains catching sling loads, we normally use 100 foot long line, on foggy days we use a 50 footer, catching a 1800-3000 pound load in the wind on the side of a mountain and get pretty exciting. props to the pilots
