My family and I have lost 3 family members within the first 3 months of this year. My grandfather, my aunt, and my step-father. Only for me to find out that I lost a dear friend and mentor last month. I need prayers so I can get out from behind this brick wall. ❤❤

As a big girl, I am grateful for your videos. You don't let your size limit your mobility. I have trouble moving in certain ways and home repair is very labor intensive. You give me hope that even though I can't do things the way someone else does, I can modify the way I approach the repairs and still get it done . Your positivity is contagious.
I highly recommend installing pull out drawers in your bottom cabinets. There's all sizes and depths etc. You'll no longer have to get on your knees and dig out the item you want. It actually comes to you. You'll love them! Promise...

I agree. I've had big cabinets and they're wonderful (especially for large or tall items). It is SO MUCH EASIER to find what you need if you have pull out drawers. I know you're always budget conscious, Merina, so that's something you can easily add later on as the money becomes available. 🧺
Shane can build the pull-outs with wood and metal slides. My husband built for all my island bases and pantries. He did two sets. You can store so much and they are a lot cheaper than buying the metal ones from Lowes. Also nothing fails through the cracks. Very easy to clean.

Also the front of the island could have a cabinet on each end , like you could get to things from either side. It looks beautiful the way it is. Just an idea ❤❤
I started out in a 10x52 mobile home, moved up to a 12x70. Now I live in an older farm house that has more quirks than I can list. I cried when I had to give up my mobile mansion for this old house. But I would go back to a mobile home in a heartbeat, but at 75, I’m probably stuck! Love you and your family, you feel like my grandkids.

You know this is the only place I feel happy and comfortable hearing about Jesus, I was raised Catholic and it was not good so I do not hang round the issue , But Merina never makes me feel uncomfortable when she talks about Jesus, Its not forced its like she is talking about her family and you can feel how happy it makes her ,So I'll continue to watch learn and love the whole family , and that kitchen island looks amazing , Great job ❤️ 💖

Your mobile home is a home home. It doesn't matter if it's brick, siding, whatever it's a home. You guys have such a beautiful home. The way you all work together is amazing. My husband and are DIY people. My husband has loved watching the growth in Shane. My husband was blessed with a wonderful shop teacher, an amazing Dad and uncles that taught him so much about building things and working on motors.
I highly recommend having Shane install the rolling pull outs for you pots and pans storage. It makes reaching for things in the back of the cabinets soooooo much better. I used to have to sit on the floor to get the pans at the back.
Those faux front drawers can be made into pull down storage space. Lots of kitchens have them. Also wondered why you never used the back space of the island for storage. SO much empty room. Seasonal items. Overflow of pantry items. SO much potential there. Your kitchen island is gorgeous. Way to go, guys!

It looks so good! I would put wood strips like your ceiling where your kids feet are going to be on the island. So much easier to keep clean than the paint.

Add some pretty peel and stick wallpaper inside your island drawers and shelves..I've even done it on the sides of my drawers for a pretty pop.
DT has some really peel and stick wallpaper and I'm dressing up a plastic storage with drawers and I was saying to myself I need to line the drawers with.

hey don't mean to burst your bubble, but just saw Karrie Lynn's latest video, she said that epoxy she put on her island, soaks up stains so fast you don't have time to wipe it up....she was saying how dirty the counter top is, and it's yellowed, she is going to repaint it and cover it with plain clear coat, what ever the brand name is. that water base kind....I hope you have better luck with yours....it's looking really nice....happy for you.
I was gonna tell Merina that, I just saw Karrie's video.
I have worked with epoxy in my professional life and quit working with it due to the fact that it's not archival. All epoxy yellows, I don't care what the manufacturers says. I have used many types, all price points and it all yellows unfortunately, just at different rates. I have a piece I epoxied with expensive epoxy and within 2 years, it has yellowed. UV rays make it yellow faster.
Was coming here to mention the yellowing I saw on Karrie Lynn’s channel also. I hope there is something that can stop it from staining and yellowing because it looks really high end and I know that was a lot of hard work. Please reach out to Karrie Lynn and see if y’all can come up with a solution. ( Also love the paint color and to me it’s more blue. Almost a robin’s egg blue. ) so pretty.

First off I love y’all! Y’all are truly my besties. With the pantry door situation I have a suggestion… hear me out. A sliding barn door like in living room then you don’t have to worry about the space of a door opening out and it’ll still tie in with rest of your house. Shane needs to put shelves in the island so you can have more storage. You should block off one of the thin cabinets to make you a cabinet for cookie sheets to stand up in....I LOVE that color. I think you should have filled in the nail holes, too, but everything looks great ! ❤

I painted my cabinets in my 1916 farmhouse. I painted the lower cabinets and my 8 ft center island cabinets my dusty country blue. And my upper cabinets, white. And I really love them that way.

As an artist who has seen a lot of different colors probably the closest color I would say that the island is, is a sage green or a muted mint. Either way it's beautiful. You guys have come so far in your home makeover skills. It's amazing to see the progress you have made and the learning lessons you've experienced. You both are such an inspiration.
Beautiful! Love how it looks! Marina, please look up Rocky Top Auto fire from July 5th. The victims in the fire are my good friend Betty’s grandsons. Two are in the hospital at Vanderbilt in the burn unit and the baby was dead at the scene. The two survivors are only 4 and 3. Their dad was driving the vehicle and his hands are burnt from trying to rescue his sons. It’s been such a hard week for them. They need many many prayers to recover. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Also big drawers for your middle cabinets would make it so much easier to access your different cooking items.

I’ve been watching you for a few years now. I’ve loved watching you make a small space work for your family of 6. I am a family of 6 as well, we just decided to move from our 2400sq ft home to around 1400sqft house with 1 bathroom for all 6 of us. My kids have told me they love it here because we sure close and it’s cozy. It’s made me realize that a huge house is not what we need, just being together is. We had 3 levels at our other house. It was a colonial style and it did love it. But I became so overwhelmed in laundry that I shut1 down and let my house go for months. Mental health is so important. Now in a smaller house, I feel so much less stressed. I’d love to redo a mobile home or even a smaller home.
The best thing about the mobile home especially when you’re my age is that they are all one level. But I think when I can get the wood for my front deck I’m going to be sending for your husband I love the great job he did on y’all’s deck.

I love a statement island. Beautiful choices. I can see a piece of pottery (felt on bottom) with faux greenery that can sit over the “hairy” area. 🥰😂 Add a candle beside it and a 3rd item (decorate in odd #s)….maybe a lil artsy decor piece or small pic of kids. A beautiful reminder of why the 2 of you work so hard. Cannot wait to see your kitchen come to life.
