    I love watching the 'creative process' in making anything. Teaching 'creativity' is a primary part of any 'craftish' teaching. Well done!

    Ok so a little late watching this. However, every single time I embark on trying to make one of your creations, I have been successful -much to my astonishment. Originally, +3 years ago I had never felted anything. Covid was the driving force. My first project was a rather large elf doll…who I will submit to our county fair this summer (took awhile). My submission will contain 6 different felting types or processes plus even the hard hard “frog”. That was a challenge. But your video was clear and easy to follow if not so easy to actually do. I now have one beautiful frog. So today, I am very confident you will teach me how to sculpt a few mushrooms. They have to be easier then the frog. For the fair competition I would like her to sit on your turtle…but if that turtle is like the frog!!! I am unsure I have the wherewithal. The fault lies in me, the lowly student, and not the instructor.

    You could spin some singles out of your chanterelle cap mix for veins. You would only need a little bit. And also, in the right color, use it for the gills zigzagging it under the cap from margin to stem.

    Some tips for your videos, I would recommend setting the camera a little closer as it's hard to see what's in your hands and it just feels a little more inviting. Right now we are positioned so far it feels a little distant.

    dont let wet felting intimidate you, its not that hard, and I find it relaxing, its very zen, doing all the gentle rubbing. The rolling is more physical, but I try to do more rubbing so a bit less rolling needed.

      How is wet felting not a terrible mess? And seemed so time consuming. But I’m still on my first kit of little critters so not well experienced.

    Love this site! Love Milo too. Not sure about wet felting since I work out of my recliner, fending off two cats most times. Wonder if the wax would work on dry felted work if you wanted a shine.

    Mycrlium is the network structure that mushrooms use to attach to trees to share starch ..... because mushrooms and trees have a symbiotic relationship .. nature is do awsome .. paul stammets has developed a bee feeder that is really worth looking into . To help our bees with mycelium medicine and keep them hydrated 🐝🐝🐝🍄🍄🍄💌💌👀

    • @Lauradicus
      @Lauradicus 2 роки тому +1

      The mycelium feed off of root exudates (sugars that plant roots exude) as well as bacteria and other soil microorganisms. The way they benefit plants through their extensive network is by monitoring the plant’s needs, going out and searching for those components and bringing them to the plants. Say, for instance, a plant that produces bulbs or tubers (think garlic and potatoes) has a hard time forming the bulb or root because there isn’t enough boron available. The mycelium can tell what missing by twisting that plants root exudates then goes in search of boron molecules, eating that and exuding it in the needy plant’s vicinity.
      Mother Nature is a complex system that is truly ingenious!
      Protect your soil… stop digging, keep it covered with plants (live plants create root exudates via photosynthesis), plant a diverse variety and stop fertilizing. Dirt contains every single nutrient needed for plant growth. Dirt becomes soil when the microorganisms are growing and thriving. Mulch with compost or wood chips instead of weeding as weeds are designed to provide a need, letting the microorganisms function properly. Thank you.

      Also, mycelium acts like its the world wide web... it informs and send messages to all of life both above and under the soil.

I can't find the main thing, which is those silk scarves with that beautiful combination of yellow, orange and red, there are only defined colors... what's more, there are no red, orange and the yellow looks like moss green. which one do you use?

      The Powerwax gives a nice coating to the mushroom tops. We would suggest trying it on one to see if it creates the look you want.

    Mushrooms in the forest, your garden or yard is a sign of robust soil health.
    The red cap with white spots is an aminita mushroom, very poisonous.
