I was looking into the JDL UEL w/cat, while I'm hunting the deepest most quiet exhaust I can find, going to keep rewatching your videos to see if I can find what I'm looking for from your informative videos :)
nice videos bröther, an nice extra would be DB scalings, for example its interesting if theres any uel or el that doesnt let you get above that original 78db
This sounds great! I also can't help but notice, you have your gloves on/off while doing stuff as much as I do. We need to callous our hands to nerveless meat so we don't need to switch so much! The JDL front pipe for whatever reason seemed like it was shorter when I saw pictures. Must be because of the second res..
So i just bought my whiteout frs! i already have installed a injen cai, cnt uel catless headers and works abm axleback muffler. I like the sound of it really deep no rasp and lots of rumble but i would want a bit more of sound and pops. What i was thinking is i could either complete the catback with the works midpipe (but i do not know if it will be louder then stock midpipe), or i can buy double resonated Frontpipe or gutting stock frontpipe I will be on e85 and will be doing the pops and crackles tune so thats why i thought going catless would be better for pops I will only choose one option so help me choose best option in you're opinion
Hi Justin! Great video - have you had the chance to autocross with this setup, and have you had any more volume warnings since making the change? Any idea what the db levels are at now? Keep up the great work!
great videos, did you change you oil right after the brek in period? I have a '18 BRZ with almost 4k and I changed the filter around 3k but I was wondering if I should change the oil too
Your video along with Ian Barton' video convinced me to get the Dezod exhaust! I was scared when I saw the title and am extremely relieved to hear that it's not the cat back as mine is arriving tomorrow, woo-hoo! My plans are a JDL UEL header and that same front pipe so glad to hear some sounds, even if you have the Ace Header. Curious, what seat do you have?
Looked through your videos after subscribing and found the seats you use. Awesome, I will be doing the same setup with the schroth harness as I found that after a lot of harness research. How comfortable is the seat for daily?
TheBadassOne17 about a month for production and a week to ship for me since I'm in California. Sooner most likely for people that live closer. Ships out from the east coast. Received and installed mine. Beautiful part and a breeze to install
i know i’m a couple years late but i recently just got a hks el header and thinking of going with the jdl overpipe and front pipe combo what do you think? and which finish out of the 3
Hi, Justin I'm your fans in China. Recently I got a little confused. I saw your previous video you're using 0w20 as the manual said but I went a track yesterday and I find my oil temp can easily go 130 degree(about 266℉) . So I'm wondering how was you oil temp in track? and is 0w20 ok with that(266℉)?
Yes, my oil gets that hot as well during long track sessions. 0w20 is fine, it all comes down to cooling it really. If you don't have a good oil cooler then track sessions should include a cooldown lap every few laps.
Hey, I'm running a Tomei UEL, stock overpipe and front pipe and a MXP comp RS exhaust. Since I installed the MXP exhaust the car sounds amazing but.. the drone is absolutely terrible, I'm thinking of getting the JDL ultra quiet front pipe .. My question is .. will it help with the droning at least a bit ? .. I really like how the car sounds but I need to do something about the drone..
It won't if you are already running the stock front pipe. I have heard the MXP exhaust has terrible drone from others, I think that's just the way that exhaust is unfortunately.
Since, as you said, there isn't much left to do to that BRZ, it'd be cool to know how much weight could actually be saved from carbon fiber roof, trunk and hood! Anyways, great channel, greetings from your followers from Spain!
Is the jdl quieter that the stock front pipe? I just got the tomei uel, paired with a low quality spec D tunning exhaust. I have a tomei type 80 on order. People telling me don’t get it it’s gonna be too loud but this spec d cat back is loud as hell. It’s basically a Indiva N1 knock off. It’s got a ridiculously loud idle and with my ecu tek tune is sounds cammed at idle lol loud af and with the stock over / front. I just want it to be quieter at idle and no rasp
Just added safety for when I am cranking on things under the car. I too have full confidence in it, but error on the safe side. The biggest benefit of the QuickJack (for me) is raising the car quickly and easily.
If he's working and something puts a hole in a hydraulic line (and he doesn't notice) and the safety tabs fail to stop the fall... Those janky triangular jack stands will save his life
@@Alexander-sr5fg Quick note: The frames should never fall because they should be on the mechanical safety locks at all times. It's just like working with a two-post or four-post lift, really: the mechanical locks are ALWAYS engaged. You can even unplug the hoses from the quick-connects while you work. The jack stands are simply overkill, which in this industry is not an insult. :) Thanks for looking out!
@@TheBTRGarage do you think this HKS would be tamer vs Tanabe? The ID is larger at 70mm vs Tanabe 60mm but the muffler seems to be legit. www.hks-power.co.jp/en/product_db/muffler/db/19347
I don't think it would. I have jdl uel and hks dual res front pipe with the tanabe and its obnoxiously loud. Way louder than the old mxp rs+same header and stock fp which was 90db. I do have a supercharger on it but it shouldn't make it louder much.
I'm guessing your JDL UEL is catless. That's a bummer, Tanabe is so light it would be perfect for autox. I've got a JDL EL catless header, stock over pipe, front pipe, mid-pipe and a muffler delete, a bit loud but not crazy bad. HKS dual res fp might be a bit louder than JDL ultra quiet fp idk ...
Hello I i just install my invidia N2 exhaust. But I also want I upgrade front pipe and overpipe. & my question is. If I replace the front pipe & over pipe would I be able to go to my local dealership & do it regular maintenance or no? & also would I get the Engine light?
You would not get a check engine light by just adding a front pipe or overpipe. Every dealership handles modifications differently, so I can't really tell you how yours would deal with it.
Great video as always, Justin!

This is exactly the video I needed. I just bought the same JDL pipe because the berk pipe I have now sounds tinny
Yep! Berk pipe definitely has that tinny sound to it, JDL UQ takes care of that 👍
Sounds much better and looks like better build quality.

Nice choice on the front pipe! edit: something about the exterior of your house looks very cozy haha
Well it is a pretty cozy place :) End of a cul-de-sac and my house is the only on our side of it with no neighbors except one!

Congrats! The JDL pipe will quiet things down, but you will ruin cats with that tune I am pretty sure. So I'd just use whatever is cheapest.

Yes, and no more sound issues at all. The JDL pipe worked great!
great videos, did you change you oil right after the brek in period? I have a '18 BRZ with almost 4k and I changed the filter around 3k but I was wondering if I should change the oil too
Thanks! I changed mine at 5k, not at the 1k break in.

The Sparco EVO is pretty good as a daily. Not great on longer trips. During the off-season I put the stock seats back in.

Really late but was there any smell inside or outside the car ? Catless headers with a high flow cat front pipe enough to keep the fumes/ smell down ?
There is no smell / fumes.
@@TheBTRGarage that’s what I was hoping for
thanks for the quick reply !
Sound goals ! Honest question, do you ever think about going forced induction? I know I have
Yes of course. Whenever I decide to stop racing it competitively in autocross, I will probably boost it.
Makes sense, can you stop by & see why I'm ready to boost now?! Took mine to the drag strip. ua-cam.com/video/8Vqd-sf6dws/v-deo.html
Justin, why did you have a cat on your BRZ? For race regulations or to pass emission testing when it was going to come up?
SCCA rules requirement...and it was a street car.
@@TheBTRGarage I see now, thanks for replying

Sounds like a good setup! I would go with the JDL ultra quiet if it is a catless header, or the dual resonated if it has a cat 👌
it is indeed catless, so i will be looking into the ultra quiet, what do you think of the track option and the other option?
The other options will be lighter but also a lot louder with a catless header. I would stick with the ultra quiet unless you want a lot of loud.
thank you for the advice! , i just want as much performance and let noise come naturally so i will look into it
Do you have headers in this video? if so what's the full exhaust setup during this video?
Yea, I had an ACE A-350 header and the Dezod dual exhaust.

Are you going to the Rocky Mountains Subaru festival at mile high?
Unfortunately not, we have some other plans already 😕

Nope, it is just a matte black wrap.

No the JDL is not quieter than stock. The stock front pipe does a lot for sound reduction, so if that is what you want, then keep the stock one.
Hello justin, for the dezod exhaust...2.5 inches or 3 inch?
Mine was 2.5 but they make a 3" I believe.
Why invest in quickjacks when you still put those sketchy jack stands underneath? i own that lift myself and have full confidence in it.

Do you think that your old tanabe exhaust with the new JDL front pipe would have passed the SCCA sound restrictions test?
I was thinking about that as well. It would be close, maybe just enough to be under sound requirements but I'll never know now lol.
