That's awesome HF Speakers Maybe a speaker cone type design replacing your saw blade designs but still with a similar style logo that you've always used. Brings over some influence from your already built brand.

John! One of the reasons I got back "into" woodworking again was solely to build speakers! That's how I found your channel years ago. You have inspired me and helped me in MANY ways, and that's why I have purchased plans from your site. Your fans, like me, will watch no matter what you do, so ...DO WHAT YOU WANT.
"The Heisz Hertz." As for a logo, maybe a modified H. I'll see if I can send along a sketch. Also, I love speaker cabinet building and related musical tech, so this is a great move!

When I was a kid, I happened to look in the back of a really old radio that my grandmother's neighbor threw out. It was a big old thing in a cabinet large enough for a tv. I noticed that the speaker had a couple extra wires. It was about a 10" speaker if I remember correctly. Then I noticed the reason it had extra wires was that it either didn't have a permanent magnet or it had a small permanent magnet supplemented by an electro magnet or maybe the electromagnet worked out of phase with the voice coil. What do you think of that?
Those were called field coil speakers. The magnet was just an electromagnet powered by DC. Having the electromagnet driven out of phase with another amplifier would probably cause a lot of distortion, rather than having a steady stable field.
We did a change of direction like that on our channel about a year ago. Moved from consumer electronics reviews to just woodworking. I did not think it was a good idea at first as I struggled with the algorithm for a LONG time. In the end, it is starting to pan out, and the views and subs are coming with it. I actually wound up making a second channel later on for reviews on electronics that I am slowly populating. But you have to focus on your primary channel first. I think what your doing takes a lot of guts, and I admire that. I'll be staying subscribed to see what your upto. Sounds like it will be a cool journey. Can't wait! :)
Pretty excited about this pivot John. I'm a former Dolby engineer and audio post engineer, but my speaker building days are far behind me, so I always enjoy living vicariously through your audio projects.
No clever channel names to offer at the moment but certainly sticking around. As you know I'm building my first speakers right now and already have some ideas for interesting variations on the next ones.
