Fun fact: The PS1 version actually reuses the menu font AND sounds from Rayman 2. Also the N64 version's Merlock fight is a nod to Rayman 2's fire boss.
Man, this review took me back! Thanks for the nostalgia! As someone who played the PC version non-stop, it has the graphics and pace of the PS2 version with the level design and challanges of the PS1 version. The Magica boss and final boss are completely different(With the last boss being a rip off of a Rayman 2 boss, which you should play BTW!)
They changed the bosses again? Maaan, I've never heard of a game with so many differences on various versions! Also I suppose I could try Rayman 2... Though I wasn't kidding when I said I'm not a fan. 😂
On the PS2 version of Goin' Quacker, if you can make a big enough jumping combo (I think it can only be achieved in 1 level but I could be wrong) and then you do a special moves, all the gears are replaced with lives instead for a short amount of time.
I would love to see a Donald Duck 🦆 goin Quackers remake / remastered video game 🎮 on all of the new videos games 🎮 consoles systems on the ps5 , Steam , ps4 , Xbox , Nintendo Switch ,
Imagine a remake of the this game but in the style of the 2017 Ducktales Reboot(all the major players from that show are there minus Merlock(who only got a mention via a book called _The Grimoire du Merlock_ and whose role was taken over by Magica De Spell). Won’t that be cool.
The PS1 version's ost is rather amazing. The way the songs are divided into different loops so the music can feel like it is progressing along with the level was a rather ambitious idea with.. mixed results, but the music's overall produced and composed impressively well. And yet the composer apparently only ever worked on this one ost and nothing else, unless they were using an alias.

I own a copy of the PS1 game, and I noticed that the intro cutscene plays just fine on an actual PS1, while it will skip the cutscene if you play it on a ps2. I guess just any form of emulation causes the cutscene to skip for what ever reason.
I believe it has something to do with the "analog" mode (when you click on the "analog" button in the ps2 controller). Click on it before starting the cutscene and it should not skip.

Ahh another childhood classic, though I never finished this one - (I think) I couldn't beat the last boss, so my pre-teenage self rage quit and never bothered to return to the game. I played the PC version which, from memory so I could be wrong, shared the same colour palette to the PS1 version, but had the other duck (already forgotten his name) in the cutscenes... so it was kind of a hybrid of the PS1 & PS2 versions, though don't quote me on that >.
Sometimes when u emulator game the developers put stuff in there so you won't have a good time at such with the Spyro the dragon people with sometimes lose eggs at the end they couldn't finish it could be what's going on with this game
I will never understand why games sometimes received different names in different regions while still both being in English? Why why why? For some reason I remember this being one of the very first game I successfully emulated like 15 years ago ^^;7 Makes you appreciate how solid the Dolphin emulator is in comparison to so many other ones that handles 3D. I'm pretty sure my younger brother also owned this game back in the game but that was for the Game Boy Color.. Apparently he wasn't a fan. The game also reminds me a whole lot of the Lilo & Stich: Trouble in Paradise game, and I suppose the Lion King game on PS1 as well I always thought that Merlock died by the end of the Ducktales movie, but I suppose they did point out that he was immortal.. So I suppose he just broke everything in his body instead of dying. He did lose his amulet though so I have no idea how he got that back? Also, I think the whole saying: "Swearing like a sailor" was almost made for Donald xD
I'm not sure, it's very odd! Like how Zootopia was known as Zootropolis in the UK. 🤔 And that's a good point I didn't think of, I mean he's basically a sailor in that get up, right? 😂
I used to play the PS2 version of this game (although over here it was known as Donald Duck: Quack Attack) and I did not know there was a PS1 version and that it was different. I do remember the opening cutscene ending after one second even on my copy. You should do more comparison videos! Like, you played the PS1 versions of Harry Potters PS and CoS. But have you ever played the PS2 versions? they are way different and in the case of PS....worse!! lol
@@ToridoriGaming The PC version feels like a hybrid of both PS1 and PS2 versions; it has the really colorful color scheme, but it obviously looks better than the PS1. It also had music tracks from the Dreamcast version(which were basically the N64 Midis but upgraded/arranged). The fights against Magica and Merlock were also altered drastically. All in all, I'd say that that version is the one that fixes all the complaints you had about the PS2 version, as the Hub was more like the PS1 version(but obviously looking much better), however, it did lack the special things that the PS2 version had, such as the gears, the whole "SPECIAL" system and some other things, mostly because the game itself was closer to the PS1 port. I'm not sure if it works on Windows 10, though. I attempted it and I wasn't able to get it running, but apparently it still works on Windows 7 and prior versions. Hope that little explanation helps!
But it doesn't seem like they did very good job of it if you beat the whole game it just seems like it was a temp to stop emulation then again I could be wrong it could just had bugs in the game
@@ToridoriGaming I barely remember it. But I can tell you it ran perfectly smooth and looked a bit cleaner, like PS2, but I was sure it was just as bright in color as the PS1 you played. @@ToridoriGaming ps. I do remember 100% it on my playthroughs as best I could. I was a tryhard for pointless things even back then. Also yes, it did not crash or lag either for me.... Seems like a decent enough platformer, those disney games were quite something weren't they?
Some good, some bad, some in-between!
@@ToridoriGaming They can't all be winners!
I wonder where Tori is, is she going quackers, lately I've been going fucking mental, but I keep it zen lol
Sometimes when u emulator game the developers put stuff in there so you won't have a good time at such with the Spyro the dragon people with sometimes lose eggs at the end they couldn't finish it could be what's going on with this game
The thumbnail is so cute!
Thank you Maggie, my friend Bittles made it! 😀
There’s a GBA version of the game as well.
Owwwwww really love the thumbnail 😍
My friend will be very happy to hear that, she worked hard on it! 😊
I will never understand why games sometimes received different names in different regions while still both being in English?
Why why why?
For some reason I remember this being one of the very first game I successfully emulated like 15 years ago ^^;7
Makes you appreciate how solid the Dolphin emulator is in comparison to so many other ones that handles 3D.
I'm pretty sure my younger brother also owned this game back in the game but that was for the Game Boy Color.. Apparently he wasn't a fan.
The game also reminds me a whole lot of the Lilo & Stich: Trouble in Paradise game, and I suppose the Lion King game on PS1 as well
I always thought that Merlock died by the end of the Ducktales movie, but I suppose they did point out that he was immortal..
And that's a good point I didn't think of, I mean he's basically a sailor in that get up, right? 😂
I grew up with the PC version and to me thats the best one
Oh my god yes! I loved this game on ps1
It's a pretty solid title I must admit. Definitely one of the better games I've reviewed. 😂
Прикольная игра . На дримкасте сегодня закончил замок , аж руки вспотели. 😅
Hey Tori did you go quackers after making the review?
I sure did!
Not a fan of Rayman?? You just lost a subscriber...just kidding 😂 great review Tori as per usual
I'm sorry! 😭
In Europe it’s also known as Quack Attack.
Pls reveiw going quackers for the n64 and pc
I might do at some point but I need a break from it for now. 😂
Okay your channel is awesome keep up the good work
Thank you 😊
I used to play the PS2 version of this game (although over here it was known as Donald Duck: Quack Attack) and I did not know there was a PS1 version and that it was different. I do remember the opening cutscene ending after one second even on my copy.
You should do more comparison videos! Like, you played the PS1 versions of Harry Potters PS and CoS. But have you ever played the PS2 versions? they are way different and in the case of PS....worse!! lol
I'm tempted, because even though this one was a struggle at times it was pretty fun to compare them!
Did you know, I had a (not bought) downloaded pc version of donald duck going ment@l
Edit: I lost that game :(
Ohhh how was it on PC, do you remember? 😀
@@ToridoriGaming uhh I downloaded it through torrents on a windows xp computer at my grandparents' house-
@@ToridoriGaming The PC version feels like a hybrid of both PS1 and PS2 versions; it has the really colorful color scheme, but it obviously looks better than the PS1.
But it doesn't seem like they did very good job of it if you beat the whole game it just seems like it was a temp to stop emulation then again I could be wrong it could just had bugs in the game
aw man! one of my childhood games XD
played it on PC!
How was the PC version? That's the only one I haven't really seen footage of while doing my research!
@@ToridoriGaming I barely remember it. But I can tell you it ran perfectly smooth and looked a bit cleaner, like PS2, but I was sure it was just as bright in color as the PS1 you played.
I sadly don't have the copy of the CD anymore (it was my cousin's and also my laptop doesn't have a CD player, new "online games only" tech be damned) I was also like... 12 or 13 when I last played it
@@ToridoriGaming ps. I do remember 100% it on my playthroughs as best I could. I was a tryhard for pointless things even back then.
Also yes, it did not crash or lag either for me.... Tho I think the dialog boxes were different for sure, but I only remember it being PS1 style, but fuck English was not my first and I only knew a few words in it. So I don't remember if they ran smoothly or not.
Also... Haunted house levels were my fave... Even the big hand chases.
@@ToridoriGaming If I find like an online free downloadable version of the PC one, I will let you know, because I now craaave to play it again.
@@ToridoriGaming FOUND IT! www.oldpcgaming.net/donald-duck-goin-quackers-review/
may I ask what ps1 & ps2 emulators do you use? coz I use both ps1 & ps2 emulators they both work well so maybe I could help you
Epsxe and pcsx2
You live in south Africa? Then, is your husband south African? Also, have you played Jak and Daxter? I'm pretty drunk and I'm hiccupping a lot. And your reviews have great, humourous editing!
He is South African indeed! And yesss, at least the first 3. I love them and keep meaning to play again. 😀
@@ToridoriGaming Good stuff! Maybe review the trilogy?
I really want to! They're on PS4, right? If I could set it up properly I could record them from that with my capture card, but that means moving my PS4 into my study and setting it up with the computer. 😅
@@ToridoriGaming Ugh, pain in the arse, right? They're on PS3 as well, though you could be more classic and do it on PS2, although I don't know the layout or contents of your study. Just do what floats your boat, and don't rush. 😁
ThErE iS a GbC vErSiOn Of tHe GaMe
Is this in response to all the comments telling me the same thing? 😂
No i have it and it is very annoying to play but good for car rides
ive heard that the dreamcast n64 and pc versions are better than ps1
If there is one game you should NOR play its Super Brawl Universe on mobile. No seriously DONT PLAY IT!!
Also if we get a sequel for this game the game better be called
Donald Duck goes FAKKIN MENTAL.
Now you're just encouraging me to check it out 😂
@@ToridoriGaming I screwed up havent i
So you had a problem with the intro too? Happens with me as well on the PS1 and even Caddicarus has that too.
I wonder what causes it to happen!
@@ToridoriGaming idw to be honest.
@@Sevent77 Do you really think so?
Where's the Toy Story 2 review?
Another great vid :D
Cheers Spikkle! 😎
I still have the pc version .
21:41 Sonic Adventure 2? Is that you?
It seems a lot of PS1 games like this have combat that did not age well.
Also, SISISISISISI~
Love your channel
Thank you! :D
Is it bad I have a huge crush on Tori??
2:00 lmao ps skill issue
Unrelated-ish but what do you think of the ducktales reboot?
EDIT: wait you live in south africa
I haven't had the chance to watch it, save for clips I saw on UA-cam while making this video but it looks fun! I like the humour. 😀
And yesss, with my South African husband, but if I had the choice I'd move back to England in a heartbeat.
