- It's shocking to think Mr Bean on the PS2 is one of Blast! Entertainment's BETTER games.

I can safely say there is nothing appealing about this game. The cover is blatant false advertisement, with no sign of live-action Mr Bean, his car, a hot air balloon or Teddy in an airplane ANYWHERE in the game (at least on the PS2 version). The graphics are boring at best and abysmal at worst, the gameplay is hair-pullingly frustrating, and the story... well, what story?
And using the excuse, "Well it is for kids!" is poor, because if I had played this as a child I frankly would have been offended by how laughably simple and simultaneously annoying it is. Mr Bean is a game that's had very little thought or care put into it, whilst at the same time being designed in such a way to entice small children into picking it up and begging their parents to buy it. It's shameful in more ways than one and tarnishes the reputation of the loveable character it's based on. Don't waste your time with this monstrosity.
ABOUT THE GAME
Mr Bean is on his most outrageous adventure yet - and he's inviting you along for the ride. Teddy's been kidnapped by a mysterious villain, and Mr Bean needs your help to find the random - 750 cat biscuits! This action-packed comedy game is based on the smash hit animated TV series and stars all of Mr Bean's famous friends and foes, including his beloved Irma Gobb and even the mischievous moggy Scrapper!

I had the Mr Bean magazine and entered a competition in it to win this game. Me not winning was a blessing in disguise.
I did get the Little Britain game on launch though. I was a dumb kid.

I bought this game for my 6 year old boy earlier this year. I had no big expectations, he likes Mr Bean and just wanted him to play a simple platformer. Didn't last long when I realised what a piece of shit game this actually is. Not only does this game have hardly anything to do with Mr Bean, the controls are so bad and delayed, he really struggles a lot and passes me the controller (and often enough I struggle as well). The levels are so annoyingly long and if you played one level, you played them all. The level design is also indeed just bad. For example I had to pick up a jigsaw puzzle piece, but it took me like 5 minutes, because the roof was just above the chest and when I tried to jump up to pick up the piece, the roof bounce me off the platform. The sound is also torture, just as repetitive as the game itself. You review is pretty spot on, absolutely nobody should buy this, it's just a pure waste of time and money (even if it hardly costs anything nowadays)
PS: I found this video, after googling, what exactly I should collect these dumb biscuits. At least that I found out :P

@@ToridoriGaming The first movie (Bean) or the second one (Mr. Bean's Holiday). I haven't seen the full movies, but I did see the end portion of Bean and saw clips and commercials for Mr. Bean's Holiday including the Mr. Bombastic scene 😆.

@@ToridoriGaming Hi Tori. I played the Wii version of this and it actually does have twelve levels; the extra hub is the countryside. More or less a darker coloured pallette swap of the gardens. There were also motion controls which made Vac-a-Mole marginally more immersive. Still a pretty shitty game, though. X(

@@ToridoriGaming It's a shame when they don't bother writing up much of a story. I can't see them deliberately leaving the villain ambiguous as that's just stupid. At least "Play It" (very generic company name) made a game that was pretty good: "Seek and Destroy." Also yes, I should have said Daphne from Frasier *Lol.*

I have the PC and Nintendo DS versions of this game. There is also a Wii version called Mr. Bean's Wacky World. The PC/PS2/Wii versions of this are almost exactly the same with a few minor differences while the Nintendo DS version is a side scroller.
By the way, you said that you don't get to drive Mr. Bean's car as seen on the cover art of the box, but in the PC version there is a racing minigame where you get to drive Mr. Bean's car.
Well clearly the PC version is superior because of the inclusion of a car mini game! 😁

@@ToridoriGaming the PC version also has other new minigames that are not in the PS2 version such as frog hunt, shooting range, soccer and digging. These are all 2 player minigames.
By the way, you said that Irma Gobb dosen't appear in the game like it says on the back of the box, but in the PC version in the 2 player minigames player 2 gets to control Irma.
I actually had no clue that Mr Bean would have a game of all things. Then again I'd say the same for Little Britain and Paddington Bear. Also it is nice to see you doing bits on camera again!

A huge Mr. Bean fan here. It's so sad that a Tv show and cartoon series with so much potential ended up becoming such a crappy little game. At some point in my life I remember playing the Nintendo DS version of this game. Spoiler: Is not any better than the PS2 version.

I used to own this game. My God it's so bad! It used to make my ps2 sound like a jet engine whenever it was playing. This game was so dull, every level felt the same and there was no voice acting or in-game cutscenes. I never completed it, I got rid of it not long after buying it, the Garden levels were the only stages I completed 🤣🤣
I remember seeing my friend play this game at his home. It was forgettable tbh.
Hey Tori can you review Taz Wanted game? Idk if you have played it but it was a game I actually enjoyed when I was little. It had such good soundtracks for levels. It was a very difficult game with some puzzles.

This was on PS2? Wow, it looks like a PS1 game, granted most of the early titles on PS2 weren't exactly gorgeous but apparently Mr Bean came out at the end of PS2's life in 2007.. PS3 was already out for God's sake!
It's shocking how games both this bad to play AND look at could ever get the greenlight to be made.
You can drive Mr. Bean's car if you have tried the Mini-games.

Woah the existence of this game makes terribly sense considering that Mr. Bean Channel on UA-cam that posts Mr. Bean's official clips, deleting the older ones, and mixes them with other material. Rowan Atkinson should read the contracts he signs

A game that I really really recommend is, *Scooby-Doo night of 100 Frights*
It's a really really good and it paid homage to Scooby-Doo Where Are You TV series. There's a lot of stuff from the show, it's Scooby-Doo. It's a really fun game to play because it's like the movie Scooby-Doo unmasked (2004) but as a cartoon video game version without the ridiculous premise of what unmasked (2004) had. How else do you can you explain the enemies in this game? If you love Scooby Doo I really recommend this game. I don't like a lot of licensed video games based off existing stuff, but this game hits it out of the ballpark with how you can find references to the TV show, Scooby-Doo where are you, you can find them anywhere and everywhere you go.

The only thing that I know from Mr. Bean is the when he is dancing to "Mr. Bombastic" in Mr. Beans Holiday because I saw the trailer on TV years ago.

I'm probably going to type a review of the 3ds version of Luigi's Mansion after you've posted the Dino Crisis 2 review. (I'm also going to change my profile picture and nickname.)
There was an Ernest movie where a crook that looks like Ernest escapes from prison and they think Ernest is the crook. Also, I think the three most British things I can think of are, Mr. Bean, Wallace and Gromit, and the Star Spangled Banner. I came up with an idea for a Mr. Bean game that was a lot better than this. It was called Mr. Bean 3D and it was just Bubsy 3D but it was Mr. Bean. Bubsy 3D is a lot better than this game.
I keep meaning to review Bubsy 3D, I played it once for an LP. But oh man it made me feel sick because of the camera.

One of the worst 3D platformers I've ever played. A game so bad, it puts Bubsy 3D to shame.

I'm a Mr. Bean fan myself and this game is terrible indeed. Thankfully, Blast Entertainment has been blown up into smithereens.
As for Irma Gobb, you can actually play as her after beating this game. On profile management, press circle to reset your profile. After doing so, type your name in then click on End and pick her. She's doesn't play different in the slightest so what I just said is pointless in theory.

I think Mr Bean not taking any other teddy is part of the game's soul although, admittedly from what you've said about said game, is one of the only things that makes any sense.

This game seems to be a betrayal to the fans of this lovely silly-head in multiple ways: The Cover, the description, this gameplay and most of all ... this "plot"!!! Though the animated series took it way more far, than the live action series ever did, but even those stories were somewhat relatable. But that?! The producers of this game clearly didn't put there heart into it (something Mr Bean clearly not deserves!) Can only agree with you, that this is just disgusting...
Maybe you give the Telltale games of Wallace & Grommit a try?

@@ToridoriGaming hmm, I would definitly not say bad.
They are a four part-miniseries. Each Game has overall its own plot, but there are connections between the parts creating a clear timeline.
The plots are either focussed on different things in each episode. In one for example one of Wallace' inventions gone wrong and now they need to clear up that mess.
You play as both Wallace and Grommit and you interact with the overall same group of characters.
The games have not so dramatic stories as the movies, but overall they are quite good, I think. But if you need a guarantee: If you are not even slightly satisfied, you'll get handmade figures of the duo! Deal? 😉

Funnily enough it has a DS version! It's basically the same game gameplay and graphic wise, except it's a side scroller.
