Considering the massive price difference, I wouldn't call the Neumanns "Alpha". At least not in this setting. If all it takes is a few well placed EQ moves to make the Lewitts almost sound like the Neumanns, then that is competition in my book.

Hey Kristian, I think your OH sound is incredibly good. Very detailed and clear. Your position is, if I see it correctly, in front of the drum kit. Is there a video of you explaining the OH position? Do you measure the distance to the SD? What height is your starting point? It usually looks like 1.8 m to 2 m. How far do the OHs reach into the set?
    I would appreciate an answer.

To my ear the Neumanns still sound more expensive and more like "signal integrity", and they definitely have a little more "beef". I feel like you have set the low-mid EQ boost on the Lewitts a little too high. With more "low body" EQed into the Lewitts they might be on par (beef-wise). Due to the higher sound integrity I would always prefer the Neumanns over the Lewitts - if I HAD both of them lying around. Since I don't, and since I don't have 3000 € to spend, I might prefer the Lewitts :-)

I bought a pair of those for live drum overheads and found that they're a darker mic that sounds exceptionally smooth. No harshness or brittleness at all! I'm a total fan of the Lewitt mics! ❤️
The LCT 440felx is really a great mic for overhead or room mic.
I like to use it with an lct540s zero for room sound. Killer kombie !! 🤗 the 440felx on the outside left and right about 3-4m distance to the drum and the 540s in the middle about 5-8 meters away from the drum. Gives a super hopeful and deep sound.
And for overhead myself I use LCT 340c.
Snare an MTP 440dm and bottom LCT 240pro.
    Hihat also LCT 240pro.
But also loved the Tom mic from lewitt DTP 340 TT!
the sound is just great at Tom's
But also the kick drum mic DTP340rex and DTP 640 rex tip mic.

To my ear, the Neumann's had ever so slightly more articulation/depth to them compared to the EQ'd Lewitts. I was damn surprised at how close they became after the first 2k-4k EQ dip though. Really imperceptible unless you A-B them, both sounded fantastic in the mix :)

The Neumanns really sound better, it`s a big difference i think. If this is worth a thousand bugs is another question.

I hate watching that guy drum. It's the combination of spaghetti arms and Animal from Sesame St. Really painful. Cool mics, though.
